Young enough to love this book!

This is book 2, so you must read Old Enough first. I loved this book! It took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions with twists & turns that enthralled me. This book was so good that I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end then I was sad it was over. I am still thinking about this book the next day - that is how much this book is staying with me. Again, I loved this book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book (from NetGalley). All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a much awaited sequel for me!! I LOVED this book. The depth of the storyline is unbelievable and kept me on my toes throughout--never knowing which way the plot would bend or warp... The heroine is very relatable! It really felt like her plights were my own. Descriptions and emotions were so extremely well portrayed--the stressors and sorrows becoming my own. I even cried at one point--which was pleasantly unexpected. (FYI: I do NOT recommend starting chapter six unless the reader has about 6 or 7 free hours in succession, as I was unable to put this novel down from that point on...) Thank you to NetGalley and Charmaine Pauls for a wonderfully sleepless night!

Beautifully painful and painfully beautiful!

To recap, Young Enough is Book 2 of a love duet between a forty-two year old divorcée who is struggling to restructure her life after the loss of her marriage and a nineteen year old university student who pursues her relentlessly while simultaneously working to support his alcoholic mother and his younger sister. Jane and Brian are explosive together! But it takes a lot for Brian to convince Jane to look past the multitude of obstacles, towards seeing them as a permanent couple.

*** “I wish I could give you the younger version of me.” “I don’t want the younger version of you. It won’t be the person you are now, because everything that happened to shape you into the person you are wouldn’t have happened.” ***

Brian is very possessive, protective and determined for his age. Whenever Brian and Jane are together their passion is so beautiful it makes me ache. Their love is intense and glorious - completely enviable!

*** “Every woman deserves the over-the-top, I’d-fucking-die-without-you feeling I have for you. I won’t degrade a young girl to second best simply because you reject me, so don’t even think about it. I’d prefer to be alone.” ***

But Charmaine Pauls is the queen of torturing her characters. Just when the couple are ready to take their relationship to the next level, a deluge of challenges (which have been simmering in the background) is finally released. This author proves again she has the courage to subject her characters to gut-wrenching hardship and drag her readers through the ringer. Jane and Brian encounter so much more danger, betrayal and even just plain bad luck that I wasn’t sure I could withstand the torture, the pain. I could feel my miniature literary self curled up into the fetal position inside my mind sobbing “No! No! Stop! I can’t take any more!”

Young Enough completes the Age Between Us duet with intense pain, intense love, and intense satisfaction. I may have wished greater retribution on some of the secondary characters (ahem! Francois, Benjamin, “Debs”, I’m looking at you!) but at the same time, I am won over by the grace and kindness of Jane and the resilience and loyalty of Brian. I loved this couple!

Sexy. Seductive and entertaining. The second installment in this series does not disappoint. Maintaining the pace and mood of the previous installment, 'Young Enough' brings the opposite perspective of 'Old enough'.
The chemistry of the main characters is tantalizing. A must read.

I thought I’d lost everything. My life was in tatters when a man half my age broke into my property and invaded my future. Our love is forbidden, but I’m single and he’s all the taboo I crave. For once in my life, why not? But what if I start wanting more than a fleeting love affair? What if his secrets will destroy me? I had no idea how much more I was about to lose. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Charmaine Pauls is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

Waiting for this book was agony, the need to know what happened to Jane and Brian was unbearable. But I must say it was definitely worth the wait. Charmaine Pauls never disappoints. Jane’s difficult life with work, Abby and her ex were not making life any easier, but she had the infatuation with Brian to calm some of those days. He, however was becoming more and more protective and possessive even if she didn’t see it, which he had reasons to be. Secrets always come out no matter how hard you try to keep them hidden. But after a lot of turmoil and difficult choices love can prevail in the end. It just may not be smooth sailing to get there.

Great book. I loved the characters and the storyline. It kept me interested until the very end. I did not like Deb's. It really irked me the way she was able to steal Jane's life (and house) with no consequences. I would have enjoyed the book much more if she had been brought down a notch (or twelve).....Same with Loretta.

You don't want to pass up this series!! Charmaine Pauls has exceeded all expectations with this intriguing, gut wrenching, heart-felt story. Jane and Brian begin their story in Old Enough, the first book in the series. It sets up a multi-faceted plot and what we know will be an incredible climax in the conclusion, Young Enough. Young Enough is fast paced and has so many high points, I just couldn't put it down. If you want a unique story that will fill you with feelings of anger, joy, sadness and hope, this is the book for you!

I loved the first book in this duet and while this was a very strong finish, I just wanted more for Jane. She suffered so much in Old Enough and I knew that it was going to get worse before it got better, I just wasn't expecting this amount of worse. This book was super sexy and I loved the relationship between Jane and Brian. Jane literally gets put through the ringer and I didn't feel like there was enough justice for her in the end. The way she was treated by those closest to her was heartbreaking and I think they deserved more for what they did. I do like the way the book ended, but I wish it had been a little longer. It ended a bit abruptly for me and I would have rather seen more of Jane's HEA instead of the extra angst right before that. I felt that was unnecessary. BUT overall, this is a great read and I'm satisfied. This was a total page turner and I read it in one day. I didn't think I would like an age gap like this, but Brian was an imperfectly perfect hero. However, Jane's compassion and ability to forgive is the shining star in this story.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher a greedy reader was able to devour the follow up to Old Enough in The Age Between Us duology. This book comes on the heels of a cliffhanger that sounds daunting for the love life of Jane and Brian's heart. Nothing seems to be going right in their lives, but the fact that they were able to meet each other at the perfect time even though the circumstances where not the most honest. This love story is not conventional or lacking judgement from all the people around, but one that seems to be where two people meet their match. Age is just a number and Charmaine Pauls tells that perfectly.

Oh my goodness. This book had absolutely everything! I really thought that this second book would just be a simple HEA, a simple conclusion to Jane and Brian's loves story..... boy was I wrong. There is so much emotion and story builds and builds in such an amazing way that I could not put it down. I could not get enough of Jane and Brian. I love how all of the elements of the story all came together. I could not put this book down! I read the whole thing in just about 4 hours! 5 stars for "The Age Between Us" I wish I could give more stars and keep reading all about Jane and Brian.

The perfect conclusion to a beautiful work of art. I couldn't put the book down.

Brian and Jane both deserve each other. Im just so proud of him for fighting for their love and respect Jane so much for being so dignified even when faced with the greatest obstacles.

Charmaine Pauls has become my go to author for creating the most heartfelt stories.

** spoiler alert ** This duet started off with the issue seeming to be about the age difference/taboo but it has become about so much more.

I have to be honest I wasn't sure how these two were going to sort through the seemingly insurmountable issues they had.

Jane and Brian.
Brian has so much responsibility that he handles with such maturity but he really has too much coming at him at once.
Jane and the relationship with her daughter and her ex husband and his fiance is painful, I would have liked to see more redemption for some of the things 'Debs' did, she did steal Jane's husband after all.
But in many ways it is very realistic, not everyone gets redemption in these situations and sometimes, someone has to be the bigger person for the sake of the child.
I wasn't sure how they would get their HEA but they manage it.
Well written, quite exciting at certain points.
No cheating, though Brian has another woman/girl interested in him.

I didn't give it as high a rating as book 1 as I felt the relationship with the ex and Debs was all wrapped up in a bow without them fully recodnising how badly they had treated Jane, despite her history affecting her relationship with her ex it was if 'it was for the best' and 'it was your fault we didn't work out' as she was hung uop on her first love Evan when in fact her ex husband caused the situation by taking advantage of her vulnerability.
