While this is the second book in the series, it is the first (and only so far) one I've read. The main character is very likable, the supporting characters are as well. I wasn't lost, not having read the first in the series. I enjoyed the book enough that I will keep an eye out for the next in the series. Sounds like it will be interesting.

I requested this book on Netgalley as I was looking for a nice beachy, cozy mystery and this totally fit the bill. Charm, the small beach town seems to be attracting more crime than ever and it's a good thing that the new cafe owner and police detective are good at solving the murder mysteries while enjoying some great food and a little bit of flirtation. I really engaged with the characters and the whodunit was presented well with a number of suspects and motives. Overall I would definitely like to read another book in the series and enjoyed my ARC from netgalley.

This is book 2 in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series and can easily be read as a stand alone. Everly Swan has her tea store up and running and is catering a wedding on the beach for a childhood friend. It's fun to return to Charm, North Carolina and catch up on the progress of Everly and her friends. When the groom turns up dead the first suspect is the bride and Everly wants to help clear her so the reputation of of the bakery and tea shop is untarnished. This is a fun read and the mystery is well plotted. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Very nice cozy mystery! The main character, Everly, has a tea shop in Charm. When she is attending the wedding of a childhood friend the groom is murdered and the friend, Judy, is a suspect.

All the cozy ingredients are there: likeable heroine who has returned to her hometown after a couple of years away, the running of a teashop and a handsome detective who warns her to stay away from the case.
But it is done very well. I have not read book 1, but that is not necessary at all.

What a fun book! After moving home to Charm, NC, Everly buys the home of her dreams and turns it into a luncheon cafe serving organic food and a variety of ice tea. As a favor to a high school friend, Everly hosts and caters her wedding at her North Carolina beachside home. The wedding goes off without a hitch, until the groom disappears during the reception and Everly stumbles on his body near the shoreline. It's a whodunnit with several red herrings thrown into the mix of suspects.

Light mystery, romance and beach reading, this is a great book for fun, uncomplicated reading. The characters are fun and quirky - Everly's aunts remind of the aunts in Alice Hoffman's Practical Magic, but the subject is not quite as intense. It's a sweet read without aggressive language or overly illicit or romantic language. I'm looking forward to reading more of the series, and I am grateful to NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for a review.

I ah e not read th first book in this series, but after this one I’m planning on checking it out. An iced tea cafe, a different take on the usually food cozy. Fun, well developed characters, good story the made me doubt the guilty party for quite a whil. Well done.

The idea of the main character and her occupation is something new yet familiar which makes for an interesting read. This second installment has all the charm of the first, but just gives more with the development of characters. It is so great to see a series really hit its stride, and the author definitely hit it out of the park with this one. Iced Tea, a beautiful setting, and murder is definitely a winning recipe for a great read!

Engaging and fun read. The author has a great style and the story flowed well. I would recommend this to my regular mystery readers.

I really like Everly and her iced tea shop--frankly, it's probably good for my own eating habits to not have every mystery I read revolved around someone who owns a cupcake or pancake shop! I like that she's trying to fit back in to her hometown and build her dream life. Even though the trope of a baker/chef/tea-maker going back to the town she grew up in and opening a little business has been done a ton in recent years, something about this feels a little fresh. Everly is kind, and she feels like a friend.

You have to suspend a LOT of disbelief as a reader to understand how she could possibly run a business and do the things she does in the book. One day, she runs her cafe/tea shop by herself ALL day as well as investigates the murder and watches all the audition videos in the contest her aunts are taking part in. Right. And her best friend owns a bookshop but ALSO stocks numerous Little Libraries, constantly filling them with new books. Um...booksellers can barely stay in business without giving all their books away for free.

Still, for an enjoyable escape read, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief. In this outing, Everly has more than one murder to solve, and the resolution works fine. Solid plotting, a charming setting, and a likeable main character add up to a lovely few hours of escapist mystery reading:>)

This cozy mystery is light and FUN. Everly runs an ice tea shop and café on the North Carolina coast. She lives in a historic home in a seaside community so charming it’s called, Charm. She has her dream business in her lovely hometown and has been asked to cater her childhood’s friends rather large beachfront wedding. Things couldn’t be better! But the wedding doesn’t go off without a hitch. The groom never makes it down the aisle. Instead, he is found lifeless in the surf. Suspicion’s surround Everly’s friend. More than one wedding guest had motive, however. Everly needs determination and some clever sleuthing to find the real culprit and clear her friend’s name. Everly is a great protagonist and the story line kept me engaged. The mystery was well plotted. This is the second book in the Seaside Café Mystery series. Although I missed the debut book, this one stood on its own.
