Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC for a honest review. Josie is a chef who is in Ponder Alaska, she has a great opportunity to work for a celebrity chef in Seattle so during the winter in Alaska she leaves Ponder and her boyfriend Palmer. Palmer wants Josie to stay in Ponder and marry him. Loved this story and the characters, Debbie Macomber knows how to write books. Enjoyable.

Thank you for the opportunity to read an advanced copy from one of my most favorite writers upcoming new releases! I do enjoy reading almost everything Ms. Debbie puts out, but this one just didn’t grab me.
Can’t please everyone....while I didn’t despise the story line, it was extremely hard for me to get into this book. For me, it felt disjointed, rushed and really not as “Holdiay-ish” as I would have thought.
I am also not a fan of the change in perspective, hopping from Palmer to Josie didn’t do it for me.
It was an ok story, take it for what it is, and to each his own. I would have enjoyed more interaction between the two main characters, and more holiday feels.

Josie is a chef whom has just finished a job in Alaska and has a great opportunity waiting for her in Seattle .
Palmer is a true Alaskan resident who loves Josie and tells her with his actions, he lets her leave to follow her dreams and hopes it leads her back to him
Debbie Macomber has a beautiful story here with such beautiful descriptions of the life in Alaska !

Another wonderful holiday book from Debbie Macomber. I love her quick, light Christmas reads, nobody does it better. Josie and Palmer were both likable characters that you couldn’t help but root for them. I enjoyed the addition of Jack as a father figure for both of them. Something about books being set in Alaska draws me in more because of the wonderful scenery descriptions. A solid 4 stars, well done as always.

A sweet little love story, not complicated and it was interesting watching how the author got Josie and Palmer together. I like my love stories a bit more complex though and with some deeper meaning interwoven. However it is well written and I love anything set in Alaska!,

Cute story, predictable but cute. It started a little slow with Palmer not being able to talk in an adult way to the girl he was wanting to marry. He told her she had beautiful white teeth. She was very confused. But it ends after a year long or so of hearts opening to be able to see what everyone wants. Jake is a hoot but I wouldn’t want him as my neighbor.

Alaskan Holiday was a quick lighthearted read that makes me want to visit the stark winter in Alaska. It was clever how the story developed but I did feel as though the story wrapped up very neatly and quickly.
Memorable characters, interesting plot. would recommend to my friends to read.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I needed a good feel good book, and this checked all the boxes. Great characters and a fun, light story. I absolutely love Jack. He is the funniest character. Turn off the brain and negativity and just enjoy the story.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book when it began. I had a hard time getting to like the characters and the dual-perspective narration didn't quite work for me. But after some time it all started to grow on me and I found it more enjoyable. There were a couple of laugh-out-loud moments toward the end, and I felt content with the ending. This wasn't my favorite Debbie Macomber book but it ended up being a nice story.

I always enjoy reading books from Debbie Macomber and that is true once again! There is something about her writing that is so compelling and really makes her books hard to put down. I read this one in 2 sittings (I may have stayed up past my bedtime!) The main characters, Josie & Palmer, are easy to root for. And even the storylines of the other characters draws one in. And having the setting in Alaska makes me want to visit!

Josie Avery has landed her dream job of sous chef in one of Seattle's hottest new restaurants. During the summer the takes a job at a lakeside lodge in a remote town in Alaska. She falls for the charms of the crotchety keeper, Jack Corcoran and also the quiet and intense master swordsmith, Palmer Saxon.
Josie and Palmer become close and spend all their time together. But Josie knows her time there will be short lived. Palmer takes some relationship advice from Jack on how to get Josie to stay in Alaska. This will lead to some humorous situations. But time and circumstances will lead to a happy outcome.

I felt disconnected from this novel from the beginning. I felt as if I were reading diary entries instead of a thoughtful account of a romance. If it had been written by anyone else I would have been fine with the story but I was expecting more from this author. Intereating but forgettable.

Another well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one is about Josie and her Alaska trip where she falls for the small town of Ponder and the residents. Palmer falls for Josie but he understands how hard it is to live in Alaska during the winter months. You cannot go wrong with this story.

Josie Avery has always wanted nothing other than to become a chef and after a summer cooking at a remote lodge in Alaska Josie is ready to head to her dream opportunity. An offer from a famous chef had come in for Josie to study under him in his restaurant in Seattle and with her bags packed and ready Josie never expected to be on the receiving end of the world’s most awkward proposal.
Palmer Saxon had fallen in love with Josie over the summer with her working at the lodge and knows he needs to act fast before she leaves the remote town. Josie however wasn’t prepared for Palmer’s proposal and knows she can’t pass up the opportunity in Seattle. But will Josie’s dream job live up to her expectations or is her future really back in Alaska with Palmer?
Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber is another wonderful contemporary romance set over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. It took a minute to warm up to Palmer in this one but soon I found myself enjoying all of the characters including those surrounding Josie and Palmer. With a few laughs and some heartfelt moments the story quickly reminded me of why I became a fan of the author and I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Very atmospheric romance set in the wilds of Alaska. A permanent resident of Ponder, Alaska falls in love with a temporary resident Josie. Will they be able to make their love thrive when Josie is set on follwing her dream job of being the sous chef in Seattle? Adorable characters. Not sure if this totally classifies as a holiday book since most of it does not happen around Christmas but that's splitting hairs. Another great romance from Debbie Macomber. Thanks to NetGalley and Random House-Ballantine for an ARC in return for my honest review.

I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest evaluation of it.bbi
Debbie Macomber has done it again with Alaskan Holiday. Welcome to Ponder Alaska where the whole town shuts down at the end of the season. What great characters she created in Palmer and Josie. Two people who love each other but let the world get in the way. She presents real life problems that couples come across in today's world. The career versus love is well used in this novel.
I suggest you grab this book and settle in for a good read that will keep your attention till the end.

I'm in love with Debbie Macomber's novels and Christmas's always touched my heart and I dream about the day of seeing some of them turning into a movie. With Alaskan Holiday it was just like that, a different love story since it already starts with a propose and ends with a more than perfect ending.
The trio Palmer, Jack and Josie stole my heart. With a light and funny plot, Debbie shows how true love is patient, simple and wants the best for the other person.
Great story for a very special Christmas.

Classic good clean Macomber romance! Palmer surprises Josie with a marriage proposal the night before she's due to fly back from Alaska to Seattle. And she's so surprised she misses the plane the next morning, giving them some more time together before she is able to leave. The proposal itself reads like something out of a Western set in the 1880s but that's ok. Jack, the trapper, is a great character. You can guess what's going to happen but....Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is a quick light read that would make a nice light movie.

Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber
Alternating chapters of each of the main characters, book is located at Ponder, Alaska.
Josie had been hired at the lodge and her time was up-the lodge was shutting down and she was heading back to Seattle.
Love the events for no special reason why the community gets together.
Story also follows Palmer who is a worker and the lodge and he favors Josie and wants her to stay but he can't express himself in words. He knows her suitcases are packed.
His sister Alicia and she's asking if he's going to propose to Josie. Love hearing how they were raised near the Arctic Circle.
Like all the food combinations and Palmer's career, priceless being able to use her hands to make a living. Like hearing about his work.
Love hearing of the salmon ping pong game LOL lots of fun travel described. He finishes his project and wants to deliver it before Christmas. He and Jack make plans and things don't go according to plan.
She is so innovative and creative. Great holiday read when things are so unpredictable.
Inclues an excerpt from another book by the author. About the author is listed at the end.
Received this review copy from andom House Publishing Group - Ballantine via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

I can't, in good conscience, rate this book because I only made it a chapter before quitting. I didn't like the writing style or connect to the characters. I wanted to give Debbie Macomber one more chance, but this novel confirmed what I already knew--she is not the writer for me. I'm sure her fans will love this story--it has a good premise, but I couldn't force myself to read something I knew I wouldn't enjoy.
