I've been a fan of the Dani Collins books that I've read so far, and this book met all my expectations and more with an emotionally gripping story. Wren's backstory, for the most part, is told through her deceased sister Mandy's diary. The diary was a very unique way to give the details of the past in a manner that kept us in the present and also gave the information without the reliving the trauma in play by play. Loved that the story was told in 3rd person, 3 people viewpoint (Wren, Trigg and Sky). The story also had a nice bit of humour to help balance out the heartache of the past. Though book 3 in a series, you do not need to read the past books (in fact I have not and I was never confused). Overall, a great romance. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Loved this story!! Wren has taken a job on at Blue Spruce Lodge, so her niece, Sky can get get to know her father, Trigg. Trigg has given up competition as a world reknown snowboarder to get to know his daughter and help rebuild the ski lodge.

Loved these characters!! Wren has put her life on hold raising her niece after her sister dies and has no time for a personal relationship, until she meets Trigg. But of course she shouldn't have these feelings. Sky, is the typical sassy teenager. She is loved by both Wren and Trigg but she is having a hard time with all these changes. Then, Trigg just wants to do the right thing for his daughter. Added in the romance between Trigg and Wren makes for the perfect read.

I almost didn't read the whole story, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The author did a great job at making her reader cheer for the Wren and Trigg. I laughed, criedand cheered for all the characters in the story. I read Dani Collins stories a long time ago .... and was very much reminded why I liked her so much. I even understood most of the German words ... my best friend speaks German and I totaly got the references... the only problem I had was when Sky stated she understood her Uncle, and dad speaking German. I learned it over 5 years being around my friend's family... and I still don't know it all.

In Too Deep by Dani Collins
At her wit’s end with her twelve-year-old niece, Wren Snow takes the manager’s job at Blue Spruce Lodge so Sky can get to know her father, Trigg Johanssen—a tycoon snowboarder with a playboy reputation.
Gold-medalist Trigg Johanssen is furious she kept Sky a secret, but quits competition to focus on his newly discovered daughter only to have his chemistry with Wren complicate their attempts to co-parent.
When outside forces threaten the ski resort he’s rebuilding, a marriage of convenience seems like the answer. It would give his daughter the life she deserves, but is it too much for a heartbroken woman still nursing past hurts?
This is Wren Snow and Trigg Johanssen 's story.
Wren Snow takes the manager’s job at Blue Spruce Lodge so Sky can get to know her father, Trigg Johanssen.
Wren Snow didn’t even look at her niece as the tree-lined road that had wound up from the highway opened into the parking lot.
Blue Spruce Lodge loomed before them.
She tried not to be moved by the brightness coming into Sky’s eyes, or the pearly knobs where the girl’s knuckle bones gleamed on her tight fists, or the way Sky held her mouth in a flat line while her chin crinkled up beneath it.
Trigg didn’t apologize for Murphy’s lack of manners. If he started, he’d never stop. Besides, he could barely form words these days that weren’t every shade of blue.
He’d had a month to get used to the idea that he had a kid, but he was still trying to wrap his brain around the reality of it. A daughter. He was nowhere near ready for kids. He had a million other things to accomplish before ‘settling down.’ And man, did he hate that expression. Settle down. It made him feel trapped just thinking it.

She wasn’t a baby, either. Not a toddler or a tyke. A twelve-year-old girl.
I highly recommend reading.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series and couldn't wait to dig my eyes into this one. Wren's life and her love for her niece sky will wring your heart. Being born right after a family tragedy took the life of her brother, she's learned to fade into the background and appease everyone. She's keeping many secrets from her niece sky the biggest one being the identify of sky's father who's a billionaire, gold medalist snow boarder and playboy to boot.

Now settled in the Blue Spruce Lodge as a manager where the Johanssen family is building a world renowned ski resort her life has tilted on it's axis. Teenage Sky is nasty as only a thwarted teenager can be. Most of her anger and angst is aimed at her shy, retiring aunt. As Wren and the Johanssen family work through the teenager Sky's issues with patience and firmness, Wren resists the potent charms of Trigg.

Readers will find they definitely underestimated Wren when she emerges as the powerhouse she is in the board meeting with the Johanssen family board of directors. All along the signs of her smarts and imagination abound but when the covers come off I wanted to stand up and cheer.

Does her marriage of convenience with Trigg have a future? Trigg starts off as an irritant who's bent on notching his bed post with anybody female but emerges as quite a likeable character and an excellent father. This book is a great addition to the series. Not sure where the author plans on taking this next.

Excellent book! Third in the Blue Spruce Lodge series but easily read standalone. This is a wonderfully crafted story with amazing characters and a plotline that will grab your attention right from the start. The relationships that develop between Trigg and his daughter Sky as well as Wren, Sky's aunt, are beautiful and fun to read about. Having just found out about his daughter has thrown his whole life into a tailspin but Trigg is giving it all he has. He's left his professional snowboarding career behind to come home and work in the family business while he gets to know his daughter. Will he be able to handle everything that is thrown at him? What about Wren? His growing attraction to her is hard to ignore. Can all of this come together letting everyone find their happy? I highly recommend you grab a copy of this one and find out.

Only book in this series which I have read, but I don't think it mattered.
At the start of the book I didn't like Trigg very much, but he grew on me the more the book progressed.

5 Stars!

Wren has had sole custody of her niece since her sister's death and she's at her wit's end. Sky has been skipping school, talking back and complaining to Wren that she wants to meet her dad. Trigg is a gold medalist snowboarder and when he finds out that he has a 12 year old daughter, he quits competing to get to know her and help his brother rebuild the resort he invested in. When Trigg and Wren meet, there is an attraction between them that they both fight because they have to get along to co-parent Sky and a relationship would just complicate things.

I really liked that this book was told from 3 POVs ... Trigg, Wren and Sky. I loved that Trigg and Wren just didn't jump into bed when they felt the electricity between them ... they became friends first. Even though the book said that Trigg was a playboy, I didn't get that vibe from him ... he just seemed a little immature at the beginning of the book, but soon took on the responsibilities of parenting. This book had me laughing, crying and everything in between. A great read and I recommend it!

I really liked this story. A lot. Everything from Wren and her terrible upbringing, even Sky with her bad attitude that eventually changed and turned her into the adorable, precocious kid she became for most of the story. Even Vivien and Rolf had me on their team.
But…Trigg.
I wanted to like him.
I tried.
I failed.
Miserably.
I don’t judge him (much) for the choices he made as a kid because honestly, I would have made the same decision. But there was something about him that just rubbed me the wrong way. Trigg was overbearing and not in an endearing way. At all. In fact, if I didn’t love Wren so much and wanted her to get the HEA she wanted, I wouldn’t have even liked this story.
But it was really good and engaging as it took up most of my Saturday while I enjoyed every single page. My heart broke for Wren at the beginning of the story as she had to deal with her bratty, ungrateful niece and a father who couldn’t be bothered to put in any effort to get to know his own kid.
But as everyone came into focus, I found that I really loved this big, boisterous German-American family. They fought and laughed, kidded and fought some more, but through it all they always had each other’s backs.
As for the romance? It didn’t feel like the focus of In Too Deep for me because the relationship with Sky and Wren or Sky and Trigg took up most of the story which I didn’t mind.
I would read another book in this series…definitely.

This is a definite MUST read! This book keeps you engaged from start to finish.
I read this book as a stand-alone, it is book three in “The Blue Spruce Lodge Series”. This book touches on so many issues faced in real life. It has some amazing twists that really finish out the story!

A really enjoyable series. In Too Deep by Dani Collins is book third in the Blue Spruce Lodge series. I really enjoyed reading more about Trigg, Wren, Skylar and the rest of the characters in this series. Great character development in this story perfect for the storyline.

So nice to be back at the Blue Spruce Lodge and catch up with Nate and Ilke and Rolf and Glory as Rolf 's and Glory's wedding is about to happen. But the stars of this book are Trigg, Wren, and Wren's 12 year old niece Sklyar - who also happens to be Trigg's child he never knew about. Wren takes a job at the lodge so that Trigg and Sky can get to know each other but the path isn't easy. Wren is instantly indispensible around the Lodge - more than earning their keep, she earns respect, friendship and love from everyone from Vivien to Rolf. She is creative, efficient and lovely, but doesn't see it. She also raised Sky from the time Wren herself was still a child, her sister (Sky's mother) having been killed in an accident. I liked that Wren and Trigg did not have an insta love nor did Trigg just wake up and realize she was the love of his life - he fell in love slowly and didn't even really realize it. Once again going above and beyond, Wren uncovers important corporate espionage, and when Wren and Trigg marry to save the lodge and Trigg's and Rolf's company, a whole new series of events unfolds - in their relationship and in both of their relationships with Sky. Loved this book - more than a love story it is really a story of family and how even if the one you are born into is lacking you are worthy of love and can make your own incredible family!

4.5 stars.
This is a superb, full of love and humor, story in which a romantic couple has to deal with burning family issues.
Being the third story in a series, “In Too Deep” was the most satisfying of them all for me, with a set of three main characters (the romantic couple and the belligerent teen) that are superbly characterized, and a bunch of supporting characters whose roles in the narrative are important as well. The dynamic of both families (Trigg’s and Wren’s) is amazingly depicted and the humor and sometimes sarcasm the author lends the narrative makes this an exciting and refreshing read.
I loved these characters as characters that are more close to reality than fiction with all their flaws, vulnerabilities and irritating traits: handsome Trigg and his infuriating cockiness, wholesome, mousy Wren, maddening Sky, the even more maddening Rolf, Mr. Gruff with a very soft inside.
But the fact is Trigg is also honorable and sweet, Wren has a core of strength and solidity and love, and Sky is the portrait of a Johansson teen growing up and finding her place in the world.
Having Sky’s point of view was just hilarious. Her mom’s writings were poignant to read. And Wren is such an awesome heroine, so amazingly different from the standard cookie-cutter female characters.
I loved watching Trigg and Sky bonding, meeting again the other characters from the series – especially Uncle Barf/Onkel Rolf, the brothers’ relationship is just another delicious dimension of this story; and Murphy, the dog. And it’s a great idea having Trigg and Rolf speaking German to each other, another detail which really gives texture to the story.

This is an extremely well written and complex story. It is light on romance and sex scenes but high on story, character building and plot. It is a long book and the author closes the story with everything niceley tied up. It is book 3 in a series and I only read the first book. I somehow missed the 2nd book. That said I suggest you at least read book 1 because that couple is heavily involved in the story and it tells how everything begins.

Trigg is a 29 year old gold medal skiier, he has just found out he has a 12 year old daughter. Wren is the childs aunt and has been taking car of her for the last 10 years. She is at her wits end and has decided to get a job on Trig's families new lodge so her niece can meet Trigg and his family.

This story is told in 3 sides, Trig, Wren and Sky. It was very well written and the characters all grow and change within this story. It is complicated but definitely and fun and interesting read. I highly suggest it if you like surprise baby/teen kids storylines.

I received a free copy from netgally in exchange for an honest review. I did not want to put this book down I left all the characters but wren especially really got to me. Wren is Raising her niece after her sister passes away and now have to deal with her nice meeting her father for the first time. I love the relationships in the story not just between Wren and trigg but also with all the supporting characters. This is the third book in a series and while there are mentions of other characters I do believe this book can be read as a stand-alone like I did.

This is the third in the Blue Spruce series, but can be read as a standalone (I have not read the first two books and had no problem jumping into the series). Wren Snow has been raising her niece, Skylar since she was 14. Her Sister Mandy lost her virginity and got knocked by Trigg Johansson when she was 17 and Trigg was 16. She called Trigg about the pregnancy, but led him to believe that she was having an abortion. She couldn’t go through with the abortion and chose to take care of the child on her own. Mandy was killed when Sklar was two, and 14 year old Wren begged her abusive and neglectful parent to let her take care of her niece. Fast forward ten years and Sklar is a hormonal 12 year old who is acting out and wants to meet her father. Wren secures a job at the lodge and let’s Trigg know about his daughter. This is told from three points of view, Wren, Trigg and Sklar. These characters were hard to warm up to in the beginning due to the anger and guilt driving each of them. But as the story develops, you care about more about them. I loved the character development, the pacing of the plot and the right level of angst. This was my first book by this author, and I will definitely be reading the first two books in the series. I was provided an ARC of this book by NetGalley for my honest review.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I hadn’t read the prior books in the series so I realized sometimes I was misssing some back ground information. I enjoyed the storyline, a very young aunt is raising her niece because the child’s mother had died. Her own parents were not a safe bet for a happy upbringing. Because the aunt, Wren had such an unhappy childhood, she was often awkward withothers and she and her niece, Sky were having some struggles. Sky decides she wants to meet her dad Trigg so after Wren checks things out, they go to meet him and his family. Wren takes a job with the father’s family as a manager of their resort and they move in. At the beginning everyone is busy getting ready for the wedding of Trigg’s brother Rolf and Glory. We see the interactions between all the characters and see Sky develop a relationship with her father and the rest of the family. Wren also develops a relationship with Trigg. There’s some suspenseful situations with the business and a nice HEA. I gave it 5 stars for a great story.

This is a great book about Trigg and Wren and Sky. Wren grew up in a house where there was physical and emotional abuse. The only person who loved her was her sister. When her sister died she wanted Wren to have custody of her baby Sky.. Wren would do anything for Sky and when she kept asking her who her father was Wren decided to take Sky to meet and get to know her father. This book takes you on an emotional journey that is heartbreaking and healing. It has wonderful characters and a great storyline. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is Trigg’s and Wren’s story. Wren’s older sister gave birth to Trigg’s daughter, Sky, when they were teenagers. Although Trigg’s thought that Mandy had an abortion. When Sky is 12-years old, Wren decides it’s time to introduce father and daughter. The characters and plot are extremely well developed with many twists and turns. This book was definitely my favorite of the three in the series!
