Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.

Did not find this book capturing to me nor engaging my attention. I had to keep going back to this book as I struggled to enjoy.

Hunt Them Down
by Simon Gervais
3 stars

Introducing Pierce Hunt, a former Army Ranger. When notorious Mexican drug cartel boss Vicente Garcia kidnaps Hunt’s teenage daughter Hunt is trust back into action. He becomes a man he swore he’d never be again: an avenging killer without limits or mercy.

I found that this action triller fails to deliver on its potential. It is disjointed in places, making the reader have to work for understanding.

The title will resonate with lovers of action thrillers, who don’t mind reading over some crafting errors.

A fast paced action/ thriller that pulls you into the story and keeps you there as the main character must use every trick in his formidable arsenal to rescue his daughter. Reminds me of the action in the movie "Taken". Simon Gervais gives us a man who is trying to learn from his mistakes but finds himself in bad situations too often to be considered a "good" guy. As he races the clock to find his daughter before she is killed on live TV, he will tackle any challenge thrown in his way. Great reading experience!

This could be the beginning of a long relationship. Action from the start, media to hate, sacrifices for the greater good, all combine for a home run in this new series. Good job!

Hunt Them Down is the beginning of a new series. The main character is DEA agent Pierce. The story is engaging and action packed. The characters are likeable and intriguing on some levels. Look forward to reading more from Simon Gervais. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Exceptional first book in this series. Fast paced with action and great characters. It certainly sets the stage for future books and I personally cannot wait.

When a DEA agent's daughter is kidnapped with he best friend it is hard to digest just who the father of this best friend really is. The history between the two is volitle to say the least and the clocks ticking to get them back. Will Hunt be able to save both girls and will he be arrested in the process? You'll have to read to find out but you won't regret it!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Exciting and worth a read

This was an exciting thriller introducing a new hero in the shape of DEA agent Pierce Hunt. The plot is decent, the action non-stop and the characterisation well done and credible with an interesting family dilemma introduced.

Nothing too original but if you like Mitch Rapp then this is one for you.

Hunt them Down by Simon Gervais
A Pierce Hunt Thriller #1

Take one newsman more interested in ratings, insert him into a DEA raid and then expect the worst and that is just what you get. I read some reviews of this book saying that this would NEVER happen BUT I did google and found that reporters have been on raids or leaked information that should not have been leaked so it is possible...but...what a mess this situation made for Special Agent Pierce Hunt when it happened to his team!

Fast forward six months and Hunt is back on the job only to have a new mess to contend with. The convoy he is assigned to that is taking a witness for debriefing is attacked and most die and before the dust settles he finds out that his daughter has been kidnapped with one of her friends and needs to be rescued. And this is where the story truly begins. Throw in an ex-wife worrying and her rich husband willing to support his quest, a drug cartel he set up and a woman he scorned that he will have to work closely with to succeed, a few trusted men to work with that may or may not be trustworthy, an attitude that anything no matter how ruthless is okay as long as he gets his daughter back and the fact that he will have to go to Mexico to face someone so evil it boggles the mind and you have the basics of this rip roaring, pulse pounding, action packed thrill ride that left me wondering when the next book in the series will be released.

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the ARC – This is my honest review.

A very fast action thriller; well written and with very good characters. Everything isn't all that plausible, however, but it is fiction after all.

This was a great read Gervais wrote a fast paced thriller to my liking. I can only say that I hope the next one is only half as good then he will be among my favorite authors.
For everyone who likes action, heroes and non stop page turning I strongly recommend this.
