I've been fan of this series for a very long time. In each of the books we get a little peek into Hannah's early life, but this story tells it all.
I loved reading about how Hannah got her start at The Cookie Jar.
The story is well written and full of mouthwatering recipes.
As a fan of this series, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read a fast paced holiday cozy mystery.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for approving me to read and review an ARC of this book.

I received a free copy of Christmas Cake Murder (A Hannah Swensen Holiday Mystery with Recipes!) by Joanne Fluke in exchange for an honest review. This would be classified as a series prequel. Back before the Cookie Jar, back before the love triangle, and back before Hannah was knee-deep in bodies, Hannah and her family were suffering heartbreak caused by the death of Hannah’s father. Hannah, herself, was suffering dual heartbreak because she had also just been betrayed by her first love. This is the beginning; this is the story of how the Swensen family, with the aid of a little mystery, begins anew.

This was a lovely story. Though not the usual type of murder mystery, it was a great change of pace. I think it’s a fantastic addition to the Hannah Swensen Mystery series!

Another short and fun read from Joanne Fluke. It is always fun to read about these familiar characters and see all of the recipes. I recommend this series for anyone who enjoys mysteries with a touch of cuteness.
