If you have never read a Rebecca Zanetti book, pick one up now!

I was so excited when I got approved for an ARC of this book. I loved the start of this series. The characters are unique and intriguing as well as flawed. I immediately wanted to know who the next books were about, before reading more than a quarter of the book.

Rebecca Zanetti bring us a story about Malcolm retired undercover cop who moves into a shut-in. Only he didn't find the house by pure luck and hes not happy when he finds out he has been manipulated. As he gets a new "Job offer" and learns more about his intriguing neighbor hes drawn into a world he wanted to stay out of.

Pippa is on the run, but the question is from what? Her secrets are hard for her to talk about and they seem damning. However she begins to feel for Malcolm and yearns to build a future with him. However will her secrets tear the apart, or will his?

Ms. Zanetti writes a powerful book that has humor, pain, suspense, and forgiveness. I loved reading about these characters. I especially am in love with the dog, Roscoe! I loved meeting Malcolm's new team and I liked how they meshed. While they had issues they were adept and good at their jobs. I liked that they were versatile and they built something together.

Pippa lives essentially in the middle of nowhere, secluded except for the sexy new guy who moved into the only nearby house. Malcolm is also running from his life as an undercover cop and the demons of his past. It turns out someone wants Malcolm for a new operation, though, and Pippa is his target. She might be involved with a terrorist plot, and while Malcolm just can’t believe she’s a terrorist, he knows she’s lying and hiding something. Malcolm has to learn to work with his new team and get the info they need about Pippa, although that gets increasingly difficult as he gets to know her. Neither Malcolm nor Pippa can trust the other, but if they don’t they may not be able to stop an attack.

I loved this book. Pippa and Malcolm were richly drawn and interesting characters, both with their own baggage and their own hopes. Both of them were so damaged by their past, though both have channeled that in different directions. Pippa was traumatized by her childhood, experiencing panic attacks and terrible nightmares and largely cloistering herself in her house out of fear. In many ways, though, she’s better off than Malcolm--she is in (online) therapy, has a fulfilling job that doesn’t require her to leave her house, and isn’t self-medicating with alcohol like Malcolm. Malcolm has been working undercover for years, and the stress of being so deep undercover for so long has taken its toll on him. He’s got some serious PTSD and some unhealthy coping mechanisms, and it was tough to read about at first. The way Pippa sees Malcolm’s pain and wants to offer comfort was just lovely, and Malcolm realizes he wants to do the same for her.

There was a bit of a different tone from many of Zanetti’s other books. Malcolm is still WAY alpha, but he demonstrates a deep awareness of how he might appear threatening to Pippa, and he goes out of his way to avoid that not for self-serving reasons but because he doesn’t want to contribute to her fear. There’s also a lot more consent talk than Zanetti’s books usually feature. Of course, he still is bossy and gets off on dominating her in bed, but I honestly appreciated that Malcolm isn’t as much of a cave man as Zanetti’s usual heroes. (The book was still way sexy too.) I hope she continues that trend.

By far my favorite part of the book is Malcolm’s new team of “Homeland Defense Department” agents. They are all misfits and outcasts, people with secrets in their past that got them sent to the middle of nowhere to handle the cases no one else thinks are important. They start to develop friendships in this book, and it’s clear they will become a tight knit and top notch team. Each and every one of them is fantastic, especially the dog Roscoe who provides a ton of comic relief. I CANNOT wait to read about all of them in future books.

This book did have a few inconsistencies, like how Pippa warmed to Malcolm and started falling for him so quickly. I also would have liked Pippa to find out the truth about Malcolm a little earlier. She does find out early enough to resolve some conflict and have a role in stopping the attack, but I would have preferred just a little more time for her to come to terms with Malcolm’s lies.

These are pretty minor quibbles, though. Mainly I just had a great time reading this book, and I am beyond excited to see it continue.

Grade: 4.5 out of 5

Going into a book, I normally know, what genre and a little bit about the plot. However, with Rebecca Zanetti newest series, Deep Ops, I tried to know as little as possible. I wanted to see if knowing nothing at all about a book makes a massive decision on the rating that I give a title. I’d concluded that knowing little to nothing about the characters and plot, doesn’t make a huge difference. If anything, it made me enjoy the book even more.
I started Hidden well into the evening with only the lights from my Kindle illuminating my room. How ironic it is that Hidden was a mystery suspense thriller and the movie that was on was also a thriller…. not so providential when your sister reminded you that it was movie night and we had planned to watch a thriller that night.
In Hidden, the heroine, Pipa, was leaving the life of a hermit with a mild case of agoraphobia...or so I thought. It changed when Malcolm West was introduced, and I learned that he used to be an undercover cop. No sooner than those words crossed my page I came to realize that maybe there was a huge reason Pipa chose to live the way she did; hiding from a past that was horrific to even this reader.
Rebecca Zanetti used an event from our history that our heroine with the help of our hero had to navigate. Rebecca Zanetti has done an overwhelming job of incorporating this bit of history without over-dramatizing or romanticizing the events.
By the time I completed Hidden, I knew that I wanted to read more of this series and a get to know the back story of the secondary characters. With one-character… Wolfe being the prominent character that I want to see get his own story.
Hidden, an exceptional start to Deep Ops. I totally recommend Hidden to any advent fan of mystery suspense.

This is my first time reading a book by Rebecca Zanetti and I enjoyed it but not quite as much as i'd been hoping that I would, don't get me wrong the story has a great plotline and the characters have a well built background but it just didn't quite hit the mark for me.Pippa has been on the run for seven years and is hiding from a cult that is lead by Isaac the mad Prophet, then there's Malcolm her new neighbour who's an ex undercover cop that just wants an easy life, they kind of get unknowingly set up and pushed together, him to help protect her and her looking for someone to help her forget her past and save her.
This had the making of a brilliant story but it was just so slow at the beginning and I had to keep putting it down and coming back to it time and again, it took me until I reached at least about 70% before it became really gripping. It was actually well written but just seemed to be too dragged out. I must mention though that the best character of them all was Roscoe he had me laughing so much with his antics! On one final note it does have a very satisfying ending which made it worth the read.
3.5 stars.

This is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Zanetti and I find myself doing my happy dance because I found another amazing author! This story is well-written and fast-paced with white hot romance. The dynamic characters tip the scales into a 5-star read. Definitely a great start to what looks to be a wonderfully addicting new series!

It left me breathless until the very end! I'm going to fall in love with this series. Mal and Pippa's story will knock your socks off! Both characters become better versions of themselves and in the end, they save each other. Zanetti winds the tension slowly throughout the whole book until the end, when everything unravels and you find yourself at the edge of your seat trying to catch your breath.. I can't wait until the next book to experience it again.

I couldn't put this book down once I started it. Pippa is a serious introvert and on the run. Malcolm is an ex-cop who just wants some peace. Two people with traumatic pasts get a second chance in this red hot romantic suspense novel. Loved it!

I’m a RZ junkie...freely admit it. I enjoyed this but I will say I didn’t connect with Pippa like I tend to do the female leads this author writes. The supporting cast from Requisition Force is wonderful and I truly cannot wait for more on this quirky, wounded, and dangerous group.
Mal and Pippa...they worked well, truly. Mal is alpha but wounded and even though his job caused him lots of hurt he was amazing at it. Pippa wasn’t anything special, and that’s saying something since she’s supposedly so. This story is an excellent start to a new series with action, humor, steamy moments and romance.

A new book from Rebecca Zanetti in a new series? YES PLEASE! This new book, Hidden kept me guessing from the very start and made me feel on edge, eagerly eating up the pages far too quickly for my peace of mind. Hidden is wholly alluring and this Requisition Force series is my new addiction from Miss Zanetti. Every time I think that Rebecca has written all the good books, she brings something brand new into the fold that changes EVERYTHING. This new book is intense. Its a romantic suspense with one incredible hero and one strong heroine who I loved.

Pippa is a really amazing heroine. Sweet, brave, loyal with a great sense of determination and boldness that is endearing. And Mal is an all around sexy alpha who believes in saving those that need it. He made me feel hot and flushed and craving his protective and possessive side. I really REALLY liked these two EVER so much! Everything about this book made me desire MORE...MANY more books from Miss Rebecca Zanetti.

Hidden is BURSTING with high octane suspense, white hot passion, and one amazing plot. I am so very much looking forward to Fallen! Hidden gets a HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR FIVE GLORIOUS SHOOTING STARS!

Pippa has been on the run from a cult headed by a man who calls himself the Prophet. Her Mother is a member of the cult. The Prophet had special plans for Pippa but she ran away the night before the first step in his plans. prophet has never given up finding Pippa. Pippa is about to have a very special birthday and the Prophet has plans for Pippa. He also has plans for an event that will kill dozens of people and no one knows where it will happen. Malcolm is an ex cop who is tired of working undercover but can’t resist when he is asked to get close to Pippa to find out what she knows. He is convinced she is innocent but other working with him aren’t so sure.

This is the start of a new series and I look forward to reading more books in the series. This book has suspense, romance and some great characters for future books. I loved Roscoe the dog and you will too. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

Highly recommended
This is a fast paced contemporary romance. It was easy to become engaged in the book. Well developed plot, troubled but interesting H/h. Quirky and humorous secondary characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I hope this is the beginning of a new series and hope secondary characters get their own stories.

A fantastic start to a new series by Rebecca Zanetti. I loved Hidden. A well written book, with a story line full of suspense, it kept me engaged from the first page. A winner!

LOVED THIS BOOK! I have been a Rebecca Zanetti fan for years but none of her past romantic suspense novels really pushed my buttons. I tended to prefer her paranormal series. That being said, I read the teaser chapter for Hidden and knew I needed this book in my life… immediately. Boy was I right.

I was on the edge of my seat from page one and Ms. Zanetti kept me panting for more the entire book. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! Hidden stars Pippa, a woman in hiding from a violent past and Malcolm, an ex-cop with tons of demons. They’re thrown together by outside forces and proximity and are immediately drawn to each other. The chemistry between Pippa and Mal is practically incendiary

The cult elements both fascinated me and freaked me out a little bit (in a good way). The mystery had me looking for clues on every page and the sexy, sexy romance had me working my hand fan. Hidden is everything I have come to love and expect from a Rebecca Zanetti book with a gritty, real world feel. The only part where I had to suspend my disbelief was the alcoholic, high heel wearing ex police dog. That was a little crazy, but also so hilarious and the perfect comedic relief, I forgive a little bit of zany.

While Pippa and Mal are falling in love, working through each other’s lies, and confronting their own problems, Ms. Zanetti is building a fantastic new crew of quirky characters each begging for their own book. Zanetti artfully crafts the suspense plot, romantic elements, and new cast into one complete book with a satisfying happily ever after that leaves you wishing the entire series was already written and released. Each character was well developed and I am invested in the entire new team. All I can say is: write faster please!!

Another hit for Rebecca!
Rebecca has the talent to write characters that we have no other choice but to fall in love with. Whether they are old characters that we are visiting again or a whole set of characters that we can't wait to find out more about.
Mal and Pippa will no doubt be joining a long list of favorite characters in Rebecca world.

HIDDEN is a new series set around new characters. Each of them misfits in their own way. We have a prison convict, Shrink with secrets, a leader who is on the hunt for a killer, a former undercover agent who just wants to left alone, a kitten loving man whose talent is torture and even a cross dressing dog you can't help but fall in love with. I mean really, what more can you ask for!

Hidden is the first book in a new series--which I am so excited about--and so happy to read. Pippa is a woman with secrets, who is scared of everything, but her new and mysterious neighbor makes her feel safe and ready to come out of her shell. Only, Mal has some secrets of his own.
I absolutely loved this book! The story started right in on the action from page one, and didn't let up. It seems like there are stories everywhere in the media on cults these days, and for someone who loves to read about them, this book was perfect.
I highly recommend this if you are looking for a fast paced, well written romantic suspense.

Hidden opens up with intensity and drama in author Rebecca Zanetti’s character’s Malcolm West and Pippa Smith, and then trails off into a confusing mist of random bouts of slapstick humor that really did not fit in with the beginning of the books dark overtones, random moments of unnecessary BDSM between Pippa the trauma survivor and Malcolm the PTSD sufferer, and too many storylines to focus on the central drama. If Zanetti’s goal was to set up a storyline for the next book in this series, the amount of time spent focusing on the other sideline characters came across as premature, forced and unnatural.

I also found myself heartily disliking Pippa— I thought a lot of her behavior was utterly dumb— especially after being in hiding for many years she cluelessly ‘forgets’ all of her fixed training when Malcolm’s pretty face comes into her starved view.

I really wanted this book to be an intense, action packed thriller, instead Hidden read like a wannabe sexy episode of Criminal Minds, and I’m still trying to come to terms with the impression left in my well-read imagination.

Advanced Readers Copy via Netgalley...:)

I am a huge fan of this author so when I heard there was a new series coming out, I could not get my hands on this book fast enough........and of course it did not disappoint.

Pippa is a recluse and unless she really has to, then she does not leave her house. She has been hiding for years and staying hidden has what has kept her alive all this time.

Malcom is a ex detective. After being undercover on a assignment for the last 2 years, in which he became friends with his mark who he was then forced to kill, he is having a hard time putting everything behind him and moving on. When he moves in to his new house in a quite neighbourhood he is immediately drawn to the pretty women hiding behind the curtains watching him move in.

What neither of these 2 know is that strings are being pulled in order for them to live next door to each other. Malcom is being recruited to join a new task force and he soon learns that his shy neighbour is not all what she seems to be........hidden passports, $20 000 worth of cash, a bug out bag....these do not compute with the women that he is drawn too. Mal will have to go undercover again as he races against time to find out what Pippa is hiding.

I enjoyed these 2 characters and of course being introduced to the rest of the Requisition Force who we will get to see more of as the series unfolds.......Oh did I mention the hilarious high heel wearing, bourbon drinking, lipstick eating dog?

Another great read from the queen of mystery and suspense and I cannot wait till the next book in the series!!!!

Another great series by Rebecca Zanetti. Malcolm West is an undercover cop who came so close to his own destruction that he buys a house off the beaten path. Hidden on the adjoining property is Pippa who literally locks herself away from everything. Occult infiltration is necessary before the day of reckoning results in death. Great characters and adventure that will prove to be a new series not to miss. "A copy of this book was provided by Kensington Books via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

I thought the plot of this romantic suspense book sounded really interesting, so I decided to give it a try; I'm so glad I did! I was riveted to the storyline of this first book in a new series. Because this is the first book in a series, some time is spent setting the stage for this entire group and introducing all the characters, not just the two leads in this story. However, every second is worth it. All of the characters are so well developed that I am already excited about reading each of their stories. The writing itself flows very well, and the intrigue is nicely done. The two main characters in this one--Mal and Pippa--are wonderful together; their journey to their HEA is hard-earned and a delight to be a part of. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'm really happy to have had this opportunity to discover her via NetGalley. I hope all the books in the series are this well done.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing an ARC for review.

What happens when two people are living lies and those lies converge by pure chance?

Malcolm is a former undercover cop just looking for some R&R in his new home when his past career comes back to haunt him. There’s a new task force being formed and Malcolm lands smack dab where they wanted him to be. Next door to their mark, Pippa.

Pippa escaped her former cult family, only to go into hiding from the leader. She’s become kind of a shut-in, rarely venturing out for fear of being located. She’s tough and determined to survive alone, but there’s just something about her new neighbor that has her intrigued...and feeling butterflies.

I was excited to learn Zanetti had a new series and thrilled with this cast of characters. The suspense came later than I expected, but the storyline was strong and the romance was great. I also liked the Requisition Force team members. The oddball group was diverse and highly entertaining, including Roscoe, the wackiest German Shepherd I’ve ever read! I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
