One hot single dad, two shattered hearts, three bouts of ugly crying (from me), and four adorable and challenging daughters. This book has it all.......grief, joy, pain, chaos, smiles, heartbreak, and love. The story of Gabe and Lia is full of so much real life drama and emotion that I feel in love from page one and couldn't put it down. The title says it all. It's not easy but it is soooo worth it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An emotional story about two people learning to love again.

Lia Blake was done with men. While in the hospital, after losing her baby and having emergency surgery, her husband admitted to falling in love with someone else and he wanted a divorce. Every day Lia had to witness them leaving their apartment building together. But when Lia saw the new girlfriend’s baby bump, she decided it was time to move.

Former engineer and widower, Gabe Ivers, was working as a maintenance man at an apartment building. He couldn’t swing working full time while raising four daughters. He had to do what was best for them after losing his wife. Gabe’s wife was the love of his life and he never planned on finding anyone else. The day he met Lia, everything changed. But Gabe was afraid to get involved with Lia. He felt he was doing his late wife a dishonor and didn’t know how his kids would feel about it.

Lia and Gabe become friends and eventually lovers. Lia even accepts Gabe’s girls as her own. When one of the girls ends up in the emergency room, Gabe shuts down and pushes Lia away. But with a little sneaky intervention, they just might find themselves back together again.

You want to be sure to have your tissue handy while reading this book. You will need it. The author did a fantastic job writing this story. There was the perfect amount of family, love and drama in this book; along with a little heartbreak and a lot happiness.

Awesome book,, the title of this book says it all. You have a young, widowed father of 4 girls who feels guilty for his late wife’s death. Throw in a young woman recently divorced, who has had an emergency hysterectomy after an etopic pregnancy. Add in the insecurities she is recovering from caused by her cheating ex husband. There you have it, Love doesn’t come easy but it does happen!

Nobody Said It'd Be Easy by Patty Blount. A heart warming story. I loved the character development and dialogue between Gabriel and his daughters. It was perfect for the storyline. This whole book pulled me in from the first page and it was hard to put down.

Nobody Said It'd Be Easy is the first book that I have read by Patty Blount. While I did enjoy the book, I felt that it was too much going on. The kids had way to much drama going on and so did the adults.

A romance full of everyday issues from single parenting to losing a child. While Blount puts in a few serious issues, she was able to make this a fun and enjoyable romance. Highly recommend to readers of Samantha Chase.

This was a sweet book if you are looking for a nice easy read. I didn’t love it, but it was entertaining and didn’t take long to get through. This was my first book by this author and I would try another by her in the future.

Patty Blount is a genius and did an amazing job with this book. She carefully weaved each thread of love, care and concern into a family that was as close as they come. They still had their own fair share of problems but that's what they made the family into what it was...a Family. I cannot stress enough how much I loved Gabe's relationship with his daughters. From cute little nicknames for each one to the sweet and to the troubled moments, I consumed it all. All four of Gabe's kids were delightfully precious and were so different from each other that it gave me a taste of so many different flavors in a single meal. This didn't just feel like a book. It felt like a journey. It was a peek into the lives, good and bad, sweet and bitter moments of any other normal family that you can find in reality. This book was unputdownable and I was up the whole night to gobble it up. Miss Blount delivered us here of what we can call a "super book" with a bow and chocolates and I would whole-heartedly recommend this to everyone.

Let’s do this lol.
Single father [check]
Four beautiful daughters [check]
HEA [check]
What more do you want? Oh you want roller coaster of all emotions [check] when you meet Gabriel he’s a walking zombie of a father. Who’s living life everyday the same way just surviving. You meet Lia who’s heart is broken beyond anything. What happens when two broken people fall for each you get a great book. Meeting all four kids was great this book wasn’t rushed we got to learn enough about each one. At first I was like 4 kids how is this story going to work. It worked so good. Patty Blount made sure we got to know each child and made sure we felt the emotion of missing there mom. It was heartfelt.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via Netgalley

What a great and delightful read!
Thanks to Netgalley I've read this this author for first time. Sometimes I don't know why on books retails they announce such a garbage books and authors...

This is a beautiful story about second chance to love and be loved. This is a story about different ways to motherhood. This is a beautiful story about two people who found each other after they thought they will not love nor be loved.
The Hero was a widower with 4(!!!) Daughters!!!
If you don't like that type of stories then I don't recommend it to you.

He was so caring dad, so tender, so beautiful in this difficult fatherhood. 4 girls from 2years old to 13!!!
He lost his true love 2 years ago and he didn't want to be with anyone. He was celibate. He wasn't flawless, he was hotminded and had little patience, LOL. I'm like this too. I liked him because he was real and not perfect.

Lia, oh, girl, she's got so much on her plate: parents who don't love her, ex husband who cheated and broke up with her the day she's got histerectomy.... What a heartless person does this???
But motherhood is not only when your body could grow up a child, and Lia was blessed to have a chance to be a mother to four wonderful girls!!

She was strong and determinated person, she liked to help other people.

Safe read. No OP scenes. No cheating

This book was sadder than I expected and it made it hard for me to enjoy. Gabe is living in a tiny apartment with his 4 daughters. He is the super and works part time because he is the caretaker of his daughters, age 2 years, 6,9, 11.His wife died and he is still struggling with her death. One of my issues with this story is how much his wife is still a part of his life and it made it hard to see a new romance for him.

Lia is broken hearted and I believed a pain too much. Her husband dumped her when she had a miscarriage and hysterectomy and he had been fooling around with their neighbor, Candy who is now pregnant.Lia's friends get her to move away from that daily agony and thats how she ends up in Gabe's building.

This is NOT a light hearted read. It kinda broke my heart. But I did enjoy Gabe's 4 kids and it is a well written story. I want to read fun stories so its not my cup of tea but if you like alot of angyst in your stories then this has it.

NOBODY SAID IT'S BE EASY by PATTY BLOUNT is an incredible story. Full of emotional dialogue, with amazing characters. I loved the way each girl was their own person and you could feel the love within the family.

A sweet story about a widower and his four girls finding hope and healing and forming a family with an also disenchanted woman, who is nonethless full of love. And what a gorgeous cover!
I found Gabriel’s earnestness, honesty, devotion to his daughters and romantic story captivating. The father/daughters relationship was endearing to read and I truly enjoyed each one of the girls’ personalities and the investment the author made building each one of them.
Lia’s character didn’t appeal to me as much, sometimes I found her too perfect; I also didn’t appreciate the demonization of her ex-husband.
The author, Patty Blount, tackles the issues arising from the complex odyssey of creating a new family with talent and I found that part more riveting than the romance, what with Gabriel’s sudden advance and subsequent hesitations and backtracking.
From the blurb I was expecting more sad tones, but Gabriel’s sadness was more told than shown and the melancholy about the late wife and mother is balanced with the instant attraction between him and Lia.

Gabe is a widower, with four young daughters. Lia is a recently divorced woman, who moves into the apartment complex where Gabe is the super. Both have issues of course, and yet they find in each other what they need. At first I was puzzled by Lia's reaction towards the end, but when she confronts him it all clicked. Cute children, and like how each is so different. Fun group. Highly recommend this book and author. First I've read by her, but will not be the last. Great summer read.

Patty Blount shows how hard single parenting can be, especially while grieving and the reader cannot help but want to give Gabe a hug and maybe babysit all the girls. Every relationship comes with baggage from both people that makes them view their relationship differently. This book just happens to show this particular baggage and was enjoyable to witness their journey together working through it together and within themselves. Nobody Said It'd Be Easy is a heartwarming story about how a second chance at love is just as beautiful as the first one. Thank you Tule Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC and the chance to spread the good word about this lovely romance.
