Such a cute series. It's a series that I have regular requests for and recommend about once a week to just the right reader. Because who doesn't love adventuring sloths?

So adorable. I love the contrasting personalities of Peter and Ernesto that shows everyone has their strengths.

A hurricane destroys the tree! Peter’s caution and Ernesto’s curiosity balance each other well as they and the other sloths set out to find a new home. Their journey through the jungle puts them in contact with several other species, including anteaters, jaguars, and peccaries. There are fun and scary and itchy adventures, as well as some new friends met and made.

The river trip, where the sloths are floating on a log and fighting off alligators, apologizing to them all the way for smacking them with sticks, is hilarious, particularly when the alligators all get little stars over their heads in the classic cartoon vocabulary for hurting.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the first book in the series even though I'm not a graphic novel fan. This one wasn't as great, but still as enjoyable.

Peter and Ernesto are always welcome on my bookshelf! I might have a slight sloth obsession. Beautiful illustrations and heartwarming story of friendship.

Following two sloth friends with very different personalities, these books are great for showing what friendship means and the many different ways one can have an adventure. Peter and Ernesto are also great for motivating younger readers who want to read “big books.” Highly recommend for elementary classrooms/libraries

The characters Peter & Ernesto remind me of Mo Willams' Elephant and Piggie - one excited about everything, one overly cautious. The first book was a delight and this is a worthy sequel. After seeing the world in the A Tale of Two Sloths, we find the duo safely back in their tree...until a hurricane forces them to step out of their comfort zones and find a new home. The cast of characters multiplies as the group of sloths (now 6 strong) tackle snakes, ant piles, alligators, and a storming group of peccaries that isn't what it seems.

Happy to see Peter and Ernesto return. This a gentle approach for kids on how to handle a tragedy or catastrophe and moving somewhere new. Hope to see many more in this series.

I'm not quite as enamored with this volume as with the first in the series but it's fun and the kids will like it.

I obtained this ARC for an honest review. So I loved the first Peter & Ernesto book, and this one was also cute but not quite as impressive. There is a lot more singing and the story goes very slowly, which is ironic considering it’s a story about sloths. I liked the story but I might not get the second one for my library. It’s definitely a good book to give to younger graphic novel readers who like animals.

Peter and Ernesto return! Though missing a touch of the charm of the first (sequels can be hard!), it is still a very funny and entertaining story that fills an important gap in the spectrum of graphic novels.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for providing a review copy.

Another delightful installation of this graphic novel series for young readers. Peter and Ernesto are sloths with very different personalities, but both find themselves very useful when a hurricane blows down their home tree and they must find a new one. Great for fans of Bird and Squirrel or Narwhal and Jellyfish.

Another great adventure with Peter and Ernesto (and the rest of the sloths - Lola, Rodrigo, Bernard, and Shu - and a whole heap of jungle friends). A hurricane prompts the sloths to seek out a new tree. A balance between Peter's worries and Ernesto's optimism help them navigate through the jungle, run-ins with other animals in their own homes (peccaries! snakes! ants! ant-eater! armadillos! bats!), and precarious situations. I loved the scene with the crocodiles. ("Sorry!" "Sorry." "Sorry!" "Sorry!" "Sorry."). Cute art and conclusion, fun character interactions, engaging plot, and I enjoyed the mix of "real facts" and "Peter & Ernesto" facts about sloths, at the end.

This is a super cute graphic novel about friendship and going on an adventure! I was surprised by how much I liked it! And sloths? Can it get any cuter?! I know my students will LOVE this book! I can't wait to add it to our library collection and share it!

Peter and Ernesto are a funny set of friends. They have mini adventures together that might not always turn out like each other planned or really wanted. The series is perfect for younger readers interested in the graphic novel format of reading. The text is not overwhelming and the illustrations are funny. They allow the reader to see the emotions of the character(s) as well as see the setting of the story. A funny read for any young reader!

This graphic novel for ages 6-10 is the second installment in a hopefully ongoing series. Poor Peter and Ernesto and their sloth friends! They lost their tree home in a hurricane and must find another. Follow the sloths through the rain forest as they encounter difficulties and meet new friends in their search. (My favorite part is when the sloths are on a log on the river keeping the caimans away with sticks and keep saying, "sorry". These sloths are very polite!) The illustrations are colorful and fun, the sloths are sweet and funny,  and the message that friends come together to take care of each other is always a good one. I really enjoyed this graphic novel!

I love Peter & Ernesto! They make such a great team ;-) In this second tale, our intrpid sloth friends lose their home to a hurricane and have to traverse the jungle to find another great tree to live in. Always enthusiastic Ernesto and practical Peter have to make multiple decisions along the way to stay safe and find their new home, so of course hilarity and adventure ensue!

A quick, silly adventure graphic novel for early graphic readers. Peter and Ernesto, two sloths, have their tree and all of the surrounding trees wiped out by a hurricane. They set off with their other sloth friends to find a new tree encountering a whole host of animals.

At times this book felt a bit repetitive and it was a welcome change when they met the anteater in the pond. I’ll be interested to see how this book goes over with the kids. It is a good one to recommend to those readers who are just starting to read graphic novels.
Three stars for content, Four stars for a fun graphic novel for young readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and First Second for the advanced reading copy.

Peter and Ernesto are hilarious! I will read any of their stories! I love that they look at friendships, change, and fears in a funny way--all things that kids are always dealing with always.

These poor sloths lose their home and have to go on an adventure to find somewhere else to live. They come across many challenges and intriguing characters along the way. My kids love Peter and Ernesto and this book did not disappoint.
