It's the return of my favorite sloth buddies! Peter and Ernesto are back, and they've got a new adventure when a hurricane blows their beloved tree away! Peter, Ernesto, and the rest of their sloth friends must set out to find a new tree. A great tree. A tree just like the one they had, preferably. As they journey through the jungle, there are new dangers to brave: angry ants, slithering snakes, running pigs, and a very hungry jaguar! Ernesto is up to the challenge, but poor Peter... well, Peter's going to need his best friend next to him as they lead their friends to a new tree. And maybe, a new friend or two along the way.

I love this new series! The two friends are like the Bert and Ernie of sloth civilization, with idealistic, upbeat Ernesto and cautious, nervous Peter acting as counterbalances to each other. The new animals the group meets as they venture through the jungle are hilarious, and the twist near the end will have your readers cheering. It's emotional to see the sloths survey the damage to their tree, and it adds a depth to Peter's and Ernesto's characters as they take on the responsibility of shepherding their group to a new home. It's just as emotional to see them find a new tree and the final resolution will just make you feel good. Peter and Ernesto is feel-good reading, and who doesn't need more of that?

I can't wait to see where life takes them next. Add this to your graphic novels collections and talk them up! Make a Best Friends display and make sure to include Frog & Toad, Elephant and Piggie, Narwhal & Jelly, and Duck and Porcupine.

Peter and Ernesto are back! This time, their whole herd (or “bed.” A bed of sloths) is in for a big adventure! During a powerful hurricane, the sloths’ beloved tree is blown away! What are they to do? Brave, adventurous Ernesto leads them off to find a new great tree to call home. Along the way, they meet many other animals of the jungle. Peter keeps the group safe, while Ernesto leads the way. Once again, these two make a great team. Even with danger and missteps along the way, the sloths are certain they can find a new home.

I love these sloths and this series. They’re super adorable. This story focuses more on teamwork and it’s an excellent lesson. It teaches that different people have different talents, but combining those skills can lead to even greater results. I can’t wait to see more of Peter and Ernesto’s adventures.

Another wonderful Peter and Ernesto book. "Peter and Ernesto: The Lost Sloths" is a book that everyone will love. The interaction between the sloths is fantastic. I believe everyone needs a little sloth in their life.

This series is completely charming. I fell in love with the first volume, was thrilled to read this second one, and can't wait for more!

Not a big graphic novel person, I picked up the advance copy so that I could be informed and better make recommendations to young library patrons. What a surprise to find myself actually laughing out loud enjoying this graphic novel. The twist with the warthogs will get the kids laughing, and I can see why these sloths are so popular!

This was a wonderful addition to this series. I love that the story is about Peter and Ernesto continuing the make friends. I also love the real facts about sloths at the end.

Does anyone remember Lorraine from MadTV? Remember how she would always exclaim, "Gaaaawd that's cute"? Well that's how I feel about this book and, in fact, is exactly what I said when I finished reading it!

Right from the word "go" (or in this case, from the first page), the illustrations draw you in with lovable facial expressions and a wonderful cast of characters. And before you can say, "Aww!" the narrative takes you on an adorable adventure that will keep you smiling, squealing, and thoroughly enjoying the tale.

This is a delightful work that children will love to pick up. A must for reluctant readers with its humor and accessible layout, Annable has created an engaging tale that inspires kids to keep reading with a facts section at the back (which always warms this Librarian's heart).

A fabulous addition to any public library and one I will be purchasing soon.

Funny, cute , best friends who are opposites type book (but whose difference benefit one another). Kids will like this one.

I really, really love the Peter and Ernesto series. After reading the first book, I was looking forward to this second book. These books are super cute, and short enough for as young as first grade. Am looking forward to purchasing this for my elementary library. (My 10 year old son gives it 5 stars as well.)

This was a super cute graphic novel. It was cheerful and full of good humor. I liked the overall theme of this book. I was sad for the sloths in the beginning, but in the end, I was happy they lost their tree.

Very cute story and illustrations. It reminds me of Bird and Squirrel but shorter and less wacky. Good second installment.

Very cute. I liked the first Peter & Ernesto book, but this one has sealed the deal for me. The adventures they meet with different kinds of animals were engaging and very well-illustrated. I find that some children's graphic novels don't do the best job with transitioning between panels, leaving the reader to have to fill in the blanks in the jump, but Graham Annable does a wonderful job of fully illustrating the character's movements throughout the story. I don't do this often, but I laughed out loud during the crocodile incident. My readers already enjoyed Peter & Ernesto, so I know I'll have to have quite a few of these on hand when it is fully published!

Thanks again to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy.

I should start by mentioning that I'm a complete sucker for First Second books, I will read pretty much everything they put out and this one didn't disappoint, The art was a little simplistic and, other than the sloths themselves which I didn't recognize until it was explicitly stated, very clear. It was a lovely story of friendship and adventure and helping out your neighbor and just silly enough without going over the top. The facts at the end were a wonderful addition.
