I really enjoyed this book. It has set up a world of magic that is completely compatible with real life, so it is very believable. The characters are people you would like to know. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

This book was so much fun. English setting, paranormal/witchy activity, AND a cozy mystery?!?!?!?! SCORE!! I enjoyed the setting and plot. The characters, for so many, were well developed and relatable. I enjoyed the mystery, mainly, because it was a mystery to solve but not a murder. Sometimes I wonder why someone always has to be murdered in cozies, why can't they just go missing? It was a little predictable and a slightly cheesy, but isn't that what we love about this genre?!?!
This was new to me author and series and I will definitely continue reading. I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys cozy or paranormal mysteries.

I could not get into this book. No major issues. Just wasn’t for me. No full review as I did not finish.

This is a cute, supernatural cozy mystery. Australian photographer Lily is hit with a double whammy when she finds out her brother is missing and she’s a witch! She travels to England to help her sister in law find him and learn more about her powers. It was a bit obvious at who the kidnapper was but I still enjoyed the story.

This is the first book I have read by Dionne Lister and it's the first in a coming series. This book is a nice, light and easy read with very likable characters. I thought that characters were likable, and made me want to come back for more.

“Witchnapped in Westerham” earns 4/5 Curious Photos…Clever Fun!

It’s always enjoyable starting one’s journey in a series with the first book, and “Witchnapped in Westerham” doesn't disappoint. Donna Lister penned a delightful mystery with the right amount of the paranormal…Ok, I know what's real and what's not, but in this world it all seemed enjoyably plausible. Her descriptive style of the environment, character appearances, and first-person inner thoughts was engaging along with an entertaining banter to illustrate personality, tone (great snarkiness), and emotion. Some of the conclusions were revealed earlier than I prefer. As the reader, I like to challenge my inner Sherlock, but the rationale and explanation finished out the story. A kidnapping? A witchy revelation? A special camera? Totally fun!

Call me a book snob, but as a rule, I do not typically seek out books with cartoon characters on the cover (or any illustrations, really)..... But as they say, "Don't judge a book by it's cover". I'm glad I didn't pass this one up. It was, at times, something that seemed written for a younger (than I) audience, but typically redeemed itself. I found myself speeding through it, as it was a nice, fun read. Apparently this is the first of a series, so I am excited to read book two when it is released.

It is Lily’s birthday and she is having a bad day. Work is troublesome and she has not yet heard from her brother James. Agreed he is in the UK but she still expects to hear from him. Instead, she gets a visit from a stranger on her doorstep telling her that her brother is missing and she is a witch. She goes to London to help her brother. I loved Lily’s loyalty to her family and the quirkiness of her personality. This was a fun read and I enjoyed that the story moved quickly. Will definitely be checking out the next in the series.

I really enjoyed this book! Just the right amount of magic, today's technology and quirky characters. Cheeky Australian Lilly comes into her magic on her 24th birthday and is contacted by her "trainer". She is informed that her much loved brother is missing and the Paranormal Investigation Bureau needs her help to find him. Mayhem ensues. A delightful quick read. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

What an enjoyable new series; mystery, paranormal, magic. Aussie meets England and a lot of adventure she didn’t count on. Lily, a photographer and a very good one at that, is finishing up a wedding and can’t wait to go home. She waits for a call from her brother, James. James never misses calling Lily on her birthday, except this time he does. With the arrival of a take charge stranger on Lily’s doorstep, everything is turned upside down and she is off to England to help James who has disappeared.
Lily finds herself in danger, but she’s nothing if not determined and resilient. After all, she has found out she’s a witch and that James is too. Enjoy the characters, even the nasty ones, because this book is just a fun read and even though it’s a paranormal, it’s kind of believable. I’m looking forward to catching up in the series written by talented author Dionne Lister.

As much as I really wanted to like this I had a number of issues with it, mainly that there wasn't much of a plot. The world-building is okay, but I would have liked to see more depth to the characters. Lily in particular is rather annoying with her constant coffee drinking. That being said, I would give this author another go because it's a cute concept for a paranormal mystery series.

Basic plot is good, characters you grow to like, sometimes throws in too many predictable scenes. Will read the sequels if any. Writing got stronger as plot moved forward.

If you love a good Paranormal Cozy Mystery, a main character who combines sarcasm and snark perfectly… then you’ll love the beginning story in a new series by Dionne Lister, Witchnapped in Westerham.

Lily’s day goes from bad to worse in short order. Her brother didn’t make his usual birthday phone call yesterday. Well, he’s newly married and in the United Kingdom, so maybe she’d overlook that. Dealing with a truly horrible bride during the photographing of her wedding was another treat. Now there’s a stranger on her doorstep saying her brother has been kidnapped… and oh, by the way, she and her brother are witches. Yeah, quite an unusual 24 hour stretch there. As Lily sets off for England to find her brother she’s got a lot of troubles ahead of her, the least of all is being accused of endangering her brother to begin with. Lily’s life just got more interesting, more intense… and maybe now those special photographs of hers might come in handy.

I enjoyed Witchnapped in Westerham. It’s got snark, a mystery to solve, interesting characters and the perfect blend of mystery and paranormal that I enjoy in a Cozy Mystery. I’m finding that I do have to get used to the “bad guy” being revealed to the reader earlier in a story than I’m used to, for that seems to be a new trend for many authors. I’m okay with it, but in reality I do prefer the ending reveal personally. I had fun with this beginning story and I’ll be keeping an eye out for the rest of the series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This is the first book by Lister that I have read, and I hope that it will not be the last. Lily is a terrific character: compassionate, loyal, and determined. Her supporting cast is just as interesting, especially Angelica and William. The magical system was also interesting, with each witch learning a few basic spells, but then developing their own unique talents. While the identity of the villain was fairly obvious from the moment that character appeared, the mystery was still compelling enough to keep me engaged until the end. Recommended to fans of The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic by Harper, Adele Abbott's Witch Is When series, and The SPI Files by Shearin.

This happens to be a genre that I love, paranormal mystery, and I just say this book is one of the better ones. With a wonderful cast of characters and an interesting plot line, it didn't take off quickly but that's about all I could find fault with. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

Witchnapped in Westerham is the 1st book in Paranormal Investigation Bureau Cosy Mystery series, and I loved it. Lily Bianchi is a photographer in Sydney, Australia, who always hears from her brother James, who lives in England, on her birthday except this year. When an English women shows up at her apartment, and tells her not only that she is a witch, but she must come to England with her because her brother is missing. This book is non stop action, and a lot of fun. I love all the unique characters and plot. I can not wait for the next book in the series. I recommend this book for all paranormal cozy mystery lovers out there.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

"Witchnapped in Westerham" is a quick read, but, unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The protagonist, who is 24, acts really childishly, all characters feel rather under-developed and the plot didn't have any surprising twists to offer.

Lily is a witty fun character not sure who or what she really is.
A short easy read.
Enjoyed reading.

This was a good book!

Somewhat different, but good just the same.

Lily lives in a different country from her brother who lives in the UK so there is a time difference. She is waiting for her brother James to call her for her birthday like he does every year. But this year is different! James has been kidnapped and no one knows where he is.

Because he is a witch and works for the Paranormal Investigation Bureau, (PIB) the agency sends a witch to go and get Lily.

The news is all new to Lily, because she does not know she is a witch.

The story takes her back to the scene of the crime and with her special camera she can get special pictures on it!

The witches take her to many areas and she gets into a lot of trouble especially when she visits the crime scene.

The story is funny, sad and very well written. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

Well worth the time to read it. Well done!
