A story of ancient jewellery and murder is the backdrop to this story of fated romance. Entertaining, and a light read despite the dark undertones. Plenty of twists and action, but it simply didn't grab me as much as the previous part in the series.

“In Name Only” is a delightfully mysterious addition to “The McKenna Legacy” series that pulls readers in and refuses to let go.

Flanna McKenna’s client has been murdered and the cursed jewelry has been stolen and some are blaming Flanna for the theft but with time running out, Flanna joins forces with Michael Eagan, a PI hired to catch the jewel thief, in order to catch the real thief and stop an evil sorceress from reawakening.

These two strong, bewitching characters easily draw readers into their story as their arrangement gets hotter but the relationship stays on a rocky slope with lots of emotional turmoil due to secrets, legacies, curses and pressure as they run out of time to catch the thief. Michael and Flanna’s romance may be rocky, but the sizzling attraction burns hotter with every turn on of the page.

Suspense and spine chilling mystery keeps readers hanging on the edge of their seat throughout this fast paced plot full of intrigue, betrayals and a bit of the paranormal with curses and a sorceress trying to rise through cursed jewelry. The readers can’t help but become caught up in the chase as Michael and Flanna pretend to be married while looking for thief especially as the author paints such vivid imagery with her well written scenes that readers can easily picture the scenery and feel the atmosphere of the story.

“The McKenna Legacy” series is a wonderful variety of stories as each one presents readers with passionate romances and wonderful characters with each story having its own unique elements but centered on a magical legacy that adds a bit of wonder and flair to the story.

This is the eighth book in the McKenna Legacy series, but the first one I have read. It won't be the last. I was totally engrossed in it by the second chapter. You don't have to read the previous books in the series but I plan on starting with the first book as this one is everything you would want in a paranormal romantic suspense novel. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.
