I did enjoy this story although not as much as some of the others by this author. I did like the strong bond of friendship and the loving relationship between the siblings. There was quite a bit of repetition that I must admit I tended to skip over. Some of the humour was amusing but at times I found it annoying, such as a man pretending to faint. There is a murderer to find, a magical touch and a growing romance which will keep, you entertained until the end. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you!
This novel was an enjoyable read. It follows other family members from the Baleful Godmother series. It provides romance and mystery, involving lots of plotting. Lady Primrose Garland is considered a spinster and enjoys books. She is rather intelligent and has an ability to teleport herself, but this gift must be kept a secret. She finds Oliver Dasenby to be extremely vexing. They have know each other for years and have teased each other constantly, among other things. Oliver was an officer in the cavalry until he was called to return to England due to the deaths of family members, in which he inherits a dukedom. Oliver enjoys laughter, can be serious, but is not always. He has no desire to marry, but enjoys the company of the Garlands. When Oliver is almost killed twice, he needs to determine who is trying to kill him. It was easy to deduct who the person was, but Ms. Larkin had the characters trying to find a way to prove this person was the murderer. Oliver and Prim spent much time together, having secret signals and plotting together, which brought them closer together and they began to rethink about their feelings toward the other. Their banter in funny and both realize they love each other. However, Oliver has constantly asked Prim to marry him in a teasing matter, so how will she know that this time, he is asking for real?
