I deeply apologize, but life is a handful lately and I'm using all my free time to read, not review. I hope everybody understands.

I was excited to receive book one and two of this series! This is an author I haven’t heard of so I adore reading new things and possibly adding more to my TBR if I like the writers style!

Just as good as the first, wonderful characters and a fantastic world were created to keep you interested to the end!

Despite having such a difficult time with the first book, I decided to give this one a try to see if the writing had improved. It didn't. It was still slow moving and too much dialogue. Margaret has become queen but still acts childish and selfish. Despite her increase in power and knowing how the senate and council loves to overrule the monarch, she doesn't develop enough of a backbone needed for her role. She asks to be trained in combat to help protect herself and when denied that she refuses to pursue it. Talk about a quitter - definitely not what I'd want in a queen. I did try my best to finish this book since I didn't finish the first but again it was just too slow and boring.
