When your one night stand turns out to be your new neighbor...Elle and Sawyer. Good story, loved the their sons and the scene at the principal's office where the boys stood up for a classmate. Looking forward to what comes next for this author.

I really enjoyed Sleepover. It was cute and sweet. And I'm a sucker for a single dad who's all broody!
My only real issues I'm sure have been addressed already. In the beginning Sawyer says he hasn't had to "take care of himself" so often since he was 15 and doing everything but, and later Elle and Sawyer are discussing firsts and he says his first kiss was at 16. Also Sawyer says the doorbell has only rung a few, times since Elle left, but then details the "huge" number of people who have. Minor, issues, but annoying.
Overall an entertaining and fun read. Can't wait for Brook's story!

I was not expecting Sleepover to be such an emotional read. Watching Sawyer struggle with his grief and moving on brought me to tears. Elle also had her own struggles because her ex husband is a jerk (who invites your ex wife to a wedding, but not your kid???). Sawyer and Elle were a good couple together, and while they definitely caved a bit to their fears they found each other in the end.

Their 8 year old boys were THE CUTEST. I like how they were woven into the story just the right amount.

Sawyer is upfront about what he wants with women and is obviously still grieving for his wife even after two years. Elle is getting over her divorce from a cheating ex and is search of a little morale boost to her self-esteem. A quickie is all it's supposed to be for both of them.

Enter Fate.

What happens when your quick fling moves next door and your sons become BFFs in 5 seconds flat? You'll have to read this book to find out. It was funny, emotional and real. Sawyer and Elle are the couple that you can't help but root for.

Can't wait for the next story.

I lOVED reading this book, I finished it in one sitting.

It was supposed to be a one night stand, until he moved in next door to her and rented the house.

Elle Dunning is newly divorced, 8 weeks after her divorce papers were signed she received an invitation to her ex-husband's wedding to his high school sweetheart. Elle later found out she was the rebound girl. She got pregnant at 22 and they got married immediately, unbeknownst to her that her husband was emotionally cheating on her along. He had been in touch with, Helen, his ex-girlfriend throughout their while marriage. Now Elle is raising her 8 year old son, Madden, and splitting custody with her ex. When a single Dad and his 8 year old son move next door to her, she has no idea how big her world is going to change, for the better.

Sawyer Paulson lost his wife to terrible illness and will never stop loving her. Raising his son and building furniture is all he lives for. That is until his new neighbor brings over cookies and it's that face he can't forget.

Right after Elle received the wedding invitation her best friends take her out to get drunk and meet someone at a bar 2 towns away. The chemistry between Sawyer and Elle was explosive, but they both walked away with no contact information. Now he's living next door and he can't stop thinking about her and vice versa. But Elle refuses to be someone's second place again. This time it's his wife's ghost.

Sawyer agrees to be her date at her ex's wedding and then things will end. But Sawyer likes the way he feels when he's around her, and he's laughing for the first time in years. When he asks for more, like a relationship, she agrees.

But after an amazing weekend, she stumbles upon something of Sawyer's and she backs out before she gets rejected again.

A must read.

When you take a divorcee and a widower, both with a son the same age, the kids are bound to grow close.

But when that divorcee had a one night stand in an alley behind a bar, just as a rebound, you know, and her against the wall sex God is that very same widower, who doesn't do repeats... yikes.

Elle and Sawyer decide to be neighborly friends, but things change for them both as they get to know each other, and especially when Sawyer meets Elle's ex-husband and steps in to 'rescue' her from an awkward situation.

The playfulness to their exchanges, the incredible unfulfilled sexual tension as they grow close, and the emotional connections developing between them make for a beautiful romance.

The supporting characters here are pretty great, as well. Elle's best friends and Sawyer's brother are hilarious. Always there to give that little shove in the right direction.

Sleepover by Serena Bell is a captivating book that I immediately fell in love with. This is the my first read by Serena Bell and it certainly will not be my last. This book was well written and the characters were well developed.
The two main characters, Elle and Sawyer, are mature adults who put the needs of their children first, which I found refreshing. Elle, a woman who has been wronged and who is doing an amazing job of making a new life for herself and her eight year old son. Sawyer has experienced a crushing loss, and is also trying to raise his eight year old son alone. Elle and Sawer meet, explode together and then walk away…. Ahhhh, not so fast, what would be the fun in that. They end up neighbors, and then, that's when the sparks ignite the blazing sexual attraction between them. Ms. Bell also does an exceptional job helping us get to know Madden, Elle’s son and Jonah, Sawyer's son. I loved that she developed these boys and gave them their own voice.
There is so much going on in this book, I am unable to put it into my review, but let me tell you, I could not put this book down. This book shows you that love really is worth the rocky road it sometimes takes to get there. I highly recommend this book and I hope that Ms. Bell will continue this series with Brooks and Eve’s story.
***I kindly received an ARC of this book by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review in order to read this book. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. This is my honest review.***

This is the first book that I have ever read by Mrs. Bell. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. This book is about Elle and Sawyer. Ell is recently divorced and Sawyer wife passed away of cancer 2 years ago. Sawyer has an eight year old son and so does Elle. Sawyer and Elle meet at a bar and have a one time hook up. Literally hooked up in an alley. Months later Sawyer moves into a new neighborhood and his new neighbor is non other than Elle. Elle son Madden and Sawyers son become fast friends. They boys are almost inseparable.

Elle and Sawyer try their best to fight their attraction. Sawyer made it clear when they hooked up that it was a one time think, he doesn't do seconds. The boys however make it pretty hard on their parents with always being at each other house and wanting to have game nights with all four of them.

This a very sweet story of second chances. This book is wrote with a dual POV. I really enjoyed this book and cant wait for Sawyers brother Brooks book.

I received an advanced copy for an honest review.

Sleepover is a fun, feel good story that will put a huge smile on your face. It's brilliantly written with the perfect balance of light hearted humor and tender moments. I was enraptured from the moment I started reading and did not want to put the book down to do real world stuff.

I fell in love with both Elle and Sawyer. They were so real and relatable. And Madden and Jonah were absolutely adorable with a wisdom beyond their years.

The secondary characters were just as awesome - Mrs. Wheeling was an absolute delight - and I found myself rooting for them. I really hope we get Brooks story next. And I would love to see Hattie and Capria each get their HEA.

I can't rave enough about this book. It's definitely one of my favorite books of 2018, and although it was my first Serena Bell book, it surely will not be my last. I can't wait to binge read her backlist.

I have only read a few books by Serena Bell, but she is without a doubt an auto-read author for me now. She writes straightforward and wholesome romance novels that are just the perfect mood lifters. Sleepover was a sweet and charming story that I found myself inhaling.

I especially loved that it featured a couple that tried their hand at love for the second time. That's not exactly a trope that you see a lot in romance and I imagine isn't a trope that every author can master. Both Sawyer and Elle were previously married to other people. Sawyer loved his wife, Lucy, dearly but she, unfortunately, passed due to an illness. Elle thought she was in a happy relationship only to find out that her husband had been cheating on her with his high school girlfriend. The relationship dynamic in Sleepover could easily have been convoluted and dramatic given that Sawyer was always going to love his wife and they both had children, but Serena Bell handled it like a pro. It's actually kind of an inspiring and lovely message that finding love after one's significant other passes away isn't such a bad thing and that falling in love a second time is possible. Kudos to Bell for writing this book! Both Sawyer and Elle were endearing protagonists. These were two very normal people who were dealing with their single-parent status and trying to provide the best life for their kids. They were both kind and genuine people who deserved to have their happily-ever-afters together. I loved how big of a role Jonah and Madden, Sawyer and Elle's sons, also played in Sleepover. The two formed a fast bond with each other and it was sweet to see their friendship develop.

As you can imagine, the romance between Sawyer and Elle didn't immediately happen. There was some hesitance on Sawyer's part as he had vowed to not love another woman again, and on Elle's side too as she didn't want to be second-best to anyone. What's great about the romance in Sleepover though was how much Sawyer and Elle shared with each other. They were open and honest and were not afraid to share their true feelings with each other. This was a couple that slowly got to know each other emotionally and in the process learned to let go of the past and live in the present. The romance was just the sweetest, but as with Serena Bell's previous books, the chemistry was all-consuming. The foreplay between these two had me fanning myself. It's seriously hot, folks! Sleepover also had a great secondary cast in the form of an elderly neighborly who probably shipped Elle and Sawyer more than anyone, and Sawyer's brother, who I think will find love next!

If you believe in second chances and love a feel-good romance, Sleepover SHOULD be on your TBR! It has something for everyone, in my opinion! :)

When Sawyer Paulson spies his new neighbor he darn near has a panic attack, he never thought he would see her again, and now here she living right next door. She was supposed to be a one night stand, his hidden little secret, never to be heard from again... now here she introducing her eight year old son to his, and he can see a friendship blooming instantly. How did this happen, sure he has thought about her off and on since their night together and often thought he could easily go against his number one rule and repeat their night, but always remembering why that rule is in place. He doesn't do permanent, relationships, or forever, he attempted that once, had the woman of his dreams, and then she passed away and it broke his heart. But now, living right next door is Elle, the only woman who has any effect on him since his wife, and as much as he tries to abide by his rule, the harder it comes to stick to it. He just can't put himself through that again.... or can he?

From the very first page Sleepover will pull you in, and command your undivided attention; with it's deeply emotional and captivating story line you can't help but become fully invested in this one. To say that this story will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions is an understatement, it is destined to have you reaching for the Kleenex box one minute, and leave you smiling and swooning the next! I loved these characters, they both had a lot of baggage to work through, and enjoyed watching them sort it out, grow from it, and find a new happiness neither thought was possible. This was one of my favorites from this author, it had an emotional depth that surprised me and left me moved, and characters who felt real to me, and very easy to find a connection to, definitely a can't miss read!! I highly recommend this one, it's good for the heart and soul!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This was a story that I was unable to put down once I started reading. There was a myriad of very strong emotions that flowed throughout the story...from Elle and her not having faith in herself, to Sawyer and his crushing loss. I was particularly taken with Sawyer and the juxtaposition of his gruffness and his tenderness. There were many facets to the characters which made the story one of the most interesting and meaningful that I’ve read in some time.

I missed the first book in the series, though these stories can be read as a stand alone, I’d still like to catch on Chase and Liv’s journeyed their HEA.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

This is the second book I have read by Serena Bell and I loved it! I have now added her to my favorite author list. Sleepover is an entertaining, light hearted read about Elle, a jilted divorcee and Sawyer, a widower. They meet one night in a bar, have a one night stand and never see each other again. Or so they thought until they become next door neighbors and their sons become best friends. Each has their own baggage weighing them down and they are afraid of settling down and committing again. Sawyer has yet to come to terms with his wife's death and is not ready to give his heart away. After her husband breaks her heart, Elle isn't ready to take a risk in loving Sawyer.
The story explores Sawyer and Elle's steps to try to let love back in to their hearts in a lighthearted and mature way. It can be seen how hard it is for both of them to let go of the past and I was cheering them on from the start of the book! The ending is just what I wanted and more. The author includes characters form past books and we get a glimpse into the future of those characters. Its a great way to continue the other character's (that I have already fallen for) and wrap up their story lines.
Overall, this is a great book. It was easy to read and I was entertained from start to finish.

A divorced mother of one son and a widowed father of one son, find themselves living next-door to each other. The boys become fast friends and the parents are equally drawn to each other. This would made a great short story if 99% of the sex scenes were eliminated.

I loved this story. I love the characters, the banter between them, their individual stories, and them together. I couldn't put it down. Excellent book

Can I tell you how much I loved this book? I stayed up all night to finish even though I had a million things to do the next day. From the moment I met Elle and Sawyer, I felt as if I'd known them forever. The attraction and heat between them was so well written and so strong that I just had to see them through to their HEA. Read this book and you'll never again doubt the power of love.

Wow. I absolutely lived this book. Elle and Sawyers connection can be felt. The ex Trevor is a major jerk and very selfish. I look forward to more ! I hope there will be a story for Brooks and Eve!

Serena Bell is one of my favorite authors out there!! I previously read Head Over Heels and was excited to read her new book, Sleepover. You will not be disappointed picking this one up, I promise. I finished it in the span of three/four hours because it was just that good.

Two years ago, Sawyer’s wife, Lucy, passed away. Over the next two years he fills his time working, caring for their son, and having sex. When Sawyer and Jonah move into a new home not far from his parent’s, the last thing he expected to see was a one night stand he hasn’t been able to forget.

Elle is trying to piece her life back together after her husband cheated on her with his ex-girlfriend resulting in him leaving Elle and their son, Madden. When Elle meets the new neighbors things get interesting.

When Elle and Sawyer had their one night stand -- one time stand -- Sawyer made it clear he did not do repeats. Of course, his resolve is going to be tested when they now live next door to each other. Sawyer hasn’t gotten over the death of his wife, Lucy, and Elle is still dealing with the hurt of her ex-husband, Trevor, leaving.

Those two know how to have hot foreplay and sex. Wow. However, they both have some healing to do before they are actually ready to move on. Sawyer needs to deal with the passing of his wife and Elle needs to deal with her husband leaving.

I love the fact that they did not sugar coat their intentions at the beginning. They were straightforward and honest. Sleepover is full of so many emotions that I found myself tearing up in places. You will really love reading it, Serena really did a wonderful job writing it.

This story of Sawyer and Elle truly depict the idea of love can help overcome hardship. Their past loves have moved on in different ways and Sawyer and Elle have had their own ways of dealing with it. One passionate night is the turning point of their healing. This story has really well written with romance, wit, angst, steam and love with many heart warming moments. Sometimes you think you're good enough, sometimes not. I liked how all the characters were portrayed and their involvement with getting Sawyer and Elle to their goal of a better, new life.
