Another perfect blend of suspense and love in the Cold Series by Toni Anderson! I have always been intrigued by Lucas and he has been a mystery to me for awhile now. Anderson's ability to weave stories and keep people interested in the main characters and keep the side characters in your thoughts after the books is finished, is amazing. I posted before that I read and reread all of her books when a new one comes out just to catch up!

After reading the entire series, Cold Secrets was my least favorite book and I’m so disappointed. I couldn’t wait for Lucas’s book, but this book completely let me down. Lucas is called in to help on a sex trafficking ring and the house blows to smitherins during the raid and rescue. The only person who can identify the traffickers is presumed dead. Ashley Chen is hiding a huge secret and one that when we find out, has a major connection to this case. Shes standoffish and goes back and forth in her decision to be with Lucas. In the end, I understand why, but between the horrific subject matter and the will they or won’t they between these two characters, I was less than thrilled reading Cold Secrets. Alex Parker is the reason why this is a 3 star vs 2 star.

That being said, the rest of the books in the series were clear winners for me!

Amazing! An excellent example of true entertainment. This book has everything needed to make an enticing page-turner. Toni Anderson writes an awesome intriguing romance- the characters are believable, realistic and charismatic. The interactions, tied with the backdrop and situations make Ms Anderson's books outstanding.

Another super read from Toni and a great addition to the series. I have read and loved this entire series and this book did not disappoint. While I have loved this book it does contain human trafficking and sexual slavery so it may not be for everyone but if you have read and enjoyed the previous books you will want to read this to. i just loved it and can't wait for the next book

Wow did Cold Secrets take me on a dark ride or what??? This book jumped straight into dark no wine and dine. However I wouldn't call this book a dark read per se, just dealt with a dark theme. The opener has Lucas, an undercover FBI Agent, entering a sex slave house asking for a young girl. Toni Anderson must have done her research, the sex trafficking plot was very detailed and felt realistic. To know this kind of stuff happens in the real world gave the book an extra spine chilling factor. It was like watching Law and Order SVU, but sexier. Cold Secret had very hard to read moments, as it dealt with child sex slavery, sex trafficking, and gruesome murders. On a side note, I didn't read any other book in this series and had no problem following this book, so it can be read as a stand alone.
Lucas Randall was all that was yummy. Brave, honorable, sexy, and caring he was a true hero. I love how close he was to the girls he saved. Lucas was playful, sweet and really wanted to save the world. I fell hard for Lucas. Ashley Chen was harder to connect to. She was hiding something and it made it hard to get a clear picture of who she really was. I could tell she wanted to prove herself and make a different in the world. However she was also cold, and closed off at times. Ashley would push Lucas away, and I didn't know why for the longest time. Which bothered me, I didn't like Lucas getting hurt even a little. Once Ashley's secret was out I totally got why she lied and hid her past and I could forgive her coldness towards Lucas.
Lucas and Ashley had tons of sexual tension. Their connection was fast and hard, but it didn't feel rushed like a insta-love, mainly because Ashley fought it for so long. When they did finally get together omg it was hot. Lucas was a beast! I loved the secondary character Alex Parker. I checked and he is the hero from book 1, which I plan to go back and read as soon as I can. Alex didn't play a huge role in this book but there was something about him that got me intrigued. The plot was really, really good. On the darker side but really entertaining. The bad guys were evil and creepy, even more so because there are really people like them out in the world. The only reason this book wasn't a 5 star read for me was Ashley took a while to warm up too. The plot and Lucas were spot on and I really enjoyed this read.

I'm new to this author, and thought that this was a great book intriguing characters and a surprising plot twist or two I didn't see coming. I will definitely be reading more!

Toni Anderson researches her stories thoroughly. This may sound like faint praise, but trust me, all of that research pays off with a story that is unique, immersive, and utterly believable. This book is about a ruthless trafficking ring and the two FBI Agents who set out to bring it down.

Like many of this ilk of story, there is instant attraction although they can't work together (groan). This is my romance rule #3: If two FBI agents work together, instalove will likely happen. (Rule #1: If you have a 1 night stand, that other person will likely be your new boss. Rule #2: If he isn't your new boss, you're probably pregnant). However, this didn't play an integral part of the story, fortunately.

This story is a taut thriller that will keep you reading far into the night, and wanting to write Ms. Anderson a thank you letter for crafting another book that makes one thankful for the romantic suspense genre.

I liked this one! I was worried that this book (#7 in the series) would not be a stand alone, but it really was. The author makes mention of previous details and characters, but it isn't necessary to have read previous books to understand.

The plot was complex, the characters well-developed, and the suspense kept my pages turning. Human trafficking is such a difficult topic, but the author handled it well. I was truly cheering for Ashley and enjoyed her heartbreaking story. Toni Anderson knows how to keep the reader interested. Four and 1/2 stars for this one.

I've read several but not all of the books in this series. I started it years ago, but I guess I got distracted in-between books and forgot to go back to it. This one started off a bit slow for me, but it picked up nicely toward the middle. It even had a couple of big surprises that caught me off guard. I'm really surprised, so I was pretty happy. I liked the characters and their chemistry together even though they exhibited little trust in each other. Ashley was pretty closed off, and Lucas was a bit self righteous at times, but sparks definitely ignited when they were together. I've got to say that Lucas shocked me at one point and left me wishing I could punch him. He redeemed himself in the end though, as did Ashley. Overall, the story was a nice weekend escape read.

This book opened with a lot of excitement when Lucas (our hero) enters a brothel searching for a missing girl. This book's plot revolves around the horrors of sex trafficking and the beginning throws the reader right into the middle of it. I really liked Lucas. His heart is in the right place and he goes above and beyond the call of duty to protect and keep safe the innocent. Ashley (the heroine) is an FBI profiler who is brought onto the case when all evidence seems to be destroyed when the traffickers blow up the brothel. She is a "white hat hacker", but suffers from a persecution complex because she is Asian-American. For me, there was a bit too much focus on her perceived discrimination due to her culture. Some of that perception is explained as the reader learns a lot more about her background, but for me, that focus pulled me out of the story every time it came up. Of course, Lucas and Ashley develop a relationship, but I found it a bit hard to feel a lot of chemistry because there was so much distrust between them. Some of what happens as the story unfolds seems out of character. This makes the middle of the story a little slow. However, as things start to wind up, the ending really heats up and makes the book hard to put down. As I learned who Ashley was and who the traffickers were, I kept wanting to continue to the next chapter. Overall, the book presents a good plot and was for the most part an enjoyable read.

Cold Secrets is jammed packed with lots of action, suspense, intrigue and romance. Ashley Chen is a BAU agent who is sent in to help on a sex trafficking investigation. Lucas goes undercover to save a little girl when the opperation goes down hill. Only Lucas and two young victims survive. When Ashley and Lucas meet the attraction and chemistry is instant and strong. But Ashley has secrets that will end her FBI career and possibly her life. This book was a page turner from the first page, I didn't want to put it down. This series has hooked me from the beginning and i look forward to reading more. I highly recommend this book and series.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed.

Ashley is a FBI agent with the BAU. When a human trafficking ring is found and the only survivors are two girls and a FBI agent Lucas. Lucas is undercover when he goes to the brothel to look for a missing eight year old girl. Ashley doesn’t get close to people but her attraction to Lucas makes it impossible to stay away. When witnesses start dying, they need to hurry and find the johns or the rest of the men who escaped when the building blew up.
I know it’s a short review but didn’t want to give too much away. You have action, suspense, sex, and secrets. Excellent story with no cliffhanger. Told in third person and gives both sides pov.

Cold Secrets is jammed packed with lots of action, suspense, intrigue and romance. Book 7 in Toni Anderson’s Cold Justice Series this story hits hard from the very beginning. Undercover FBI agent, Lucas Randall joins forces with FBI computer expert Ashley Chen to bring down a ruthless international ring of sex traffickers. The case is messy, lives are on the line and secrets are needed to be revealed.

The tightly woven plot is solidly written with complex characters. The romance is wonderful but never overshadows the case of stopping this international group. It is one roller-coaster of an emotional read.

I have read this series out of order, but it has not been a hindered at all in my enjoyment of the series as a whole. Amazing series by an amazing author.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow!
The subject matter was intense and horrifying but I continued to read. This book is well-written – the characters have depth. In addition to the typical strengths of the hero and heroine in suspense novels they had all too human foibles. The plot is complex but easy to follow, it is about good and evil, hope, betrayal and the indomitable will to survive despite the harshest of circumstances.

This is my first book by this author, it will not be my last. Based on this book, she has become one of my “go to” authors. I would definitely recommend to friends.
I was provided with a copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am not sure how she does it but Toni Anderson never seem to disappoint.

Cold Se certs is full of suspense, lies, hidden secrets, sexual chemistry and trust me this is the book you have been waiting for if you started with A Dark Cold Place because Lucas finally gets his story.
When I mean the story starts off with a bang I should say Boom as a house explodes behind the hero as he is running to keep a child safe. Just think if that is the first few chapters what more could this book hold?

Thank you to Netgalley and Toni Anderson for a chance to review this book.

This is one of the best RS series I read. The books are consistently entertaining and well written. I wasn't too crazy about the instalust and we-can't-be-together-because-we-work-together trope in the beginning; but that fortunately passed quickly and we got into the meat of the story. The child sex trade plotline was definitely unpleasant, but well done. Ashley also had a pretty painful secret past that added also added tension to the plot.

Great FBI romantic suspense series.
