Really enjoyed this book! It was suspenseful and kept me guessing. The characters are crazy and it was interesting trying to figure out who to trust. I loved the duel perspectives and the inner dialogue. I love this writing duo and will definitely be picking up any future books they write. Great thriller!

I loved The Wife Between Us. It was a completely unputdownable book that I completely devoured. The twist was amazing, and I recommend it to everyone.
I was so excited to receive this book, and it started very strongly. A makeup artist, Jess. impersonates one of her clients to attend a psychological case study. She really needs the money, and when she finds out her client isn't going, she takes her place. The study quickly becomes a practice in unusual things, giving free makeup sessions, trying to seduce men in bars. Jess cannot refuse Dr. Shields, and the money is too much to pass up, so she continues.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as The Wife Between Us. Dr. Shields just seems completely unstable, and the fact that Jess is just willing to do anything made me crazy.

A psychological thriller told from two perspectives, "An Anonymous Girl" centers around makeup artist Jessica, who finds herself drawn into a cat and mouse game after enrolling in a research study on making moral decisions. Co-authors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen establish distinct voices for each of their narrators, and - while fans of psychological thrillers will likely predict the resolution - there are some unexpected twists along the way.

They dynamic duo does it again! This book had me guessing the whole time, while sitting on the edge of my seat. I can't wait for another book by these two!

Never ever let down by this author. Another great storyline. Characters were written with strong voices. I loved this book!

Im left a little disappointed by The Anonymous Girl. It has all the elements I look for, including a strong premise. I think what left me wanting was the style of narrative. The points of view expressed were many and confusing at times. I found the storyline hard to follow and the characters werent as complex as I would have liked, which made them less engaging to me. As there are many strong reviews for this novel, I can only surmise that it just wasnt for me. I chose it based upon how much I enjoyed their previous book however, so I wont write off this writing team!
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for my copy. Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen wrote a really great psychological thriller right here. This book was very different as it really doesn't have any big twists, but the story was SO CAPTIVATING!! The story is told from 2 point of views, Jessica from 1st person, and Dr. Shields from 2nd person which was disturbing to me. I was constantly wondering…. what the heck is happening?? I couldn't put this book down. I really enjoyed it. I actually enjoyed it more than their first book!! I cannot wait to see what this dynamic duo comes out with next!

This book was a good read. It had everything a good book needs-- romance, danger, suspense, sometimes scary twists and turns and even a cute little dog.
At first I thought it was a little slow but then things went wild. I couldn't stop reading it. The suspense and surprises were great. I thought some of it was a little creepy, but then something nice would happen. I never knew from page to page if I liked the different characters or if I didn't. Everything kept changing so fast. I felt sorry for all the characters at different times during the story. The plot was very well written and this is definitely a story that stays with you. I received this ebook from NetGalley for an honest review.

Very interested and gripping from the beginning of the story. I always enjoy a quick mystery thriller read and this did it for me. Loved the ending and villainous character as well.

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen are amazing writers; I loved The Wife Between Us and was eager to tear into An Anonymous Girl--and it did not disappoint. Starting off with an vague introduction into a psychological test, audiences are taken on a ride of mystery, intrigue, and are constantly kept guessing. Hendricks and Pekkanen are so skilled at the build-up--readers truly feel heightened emotions as we hit the story's climax.
A true page-turner, An Anonymous Girl was an incredibly quick read, with interesting characters and a thrilling story line.

Thanks St Martin’s Press and netgalley for this free ARC. All opinions are my own.
3.8/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 - This book grabbed my attention from the beginning.
Jessica Farris, a makeup artist in need of money, signs up for an anonymous psychological study on morality and ethics, conducted by an elusive Dr. Shields. Jessica speaks honestly and bares her inner secrets to Dr. Shields in her initial sessions. Soon Dr. Shields offers Jessica an opportunity to participate in a social experiment beyond the confines of a computer screen. Enticed by the offer of generous compensation, Jessica accepts. Jessica quickly gets caught up in a web of deceit, jealousy, paranoia, fear, and murder.
This book is suspenseful, but for those of you that read their first book, The Wife Between Us, be forewarned The Anonymous Girl, while suspenseful, lacks the explosive twist that their first book had. If you read very many thrillers like I do, you will likely be able to see where this book is headed, but that doesn’t take too much away from the suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue to read these talented authors’ novels!

What starts as a normal life for the main character quickly takes you on a journey that you arent sure you want to be on, but you can't stop looking, right?! This book kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time. It intrigues me that people can be so conniving and manipulating and yet seem so normal on the surface. The twists and turns throughout the story kept you guessing what was going to happen next. Really makes you second guess what seem like everyday decisions and what the potential consequence can be!
The author did a great job of letting you get to know each of the characters on multiple levels.

I’m truly struggling with how to rate this psychological thriller. I was completely sold by the writing duo, the cover art, and that highly intriguing synopsis.
And while I admit I was hooked very early on, the book unfortunately didn’t maintain my intrigue. The first half of this novel is super solid and bingeable, but tapered off toward the end. The mystery became predictable and left me wishing for more.
I applaud the authors for a unique concept and still think it would serve as a good addition to any sleuths library.

Twisted. Intense. And very creepy. This book was so easily engaging and I loved every minute of it !

I loved the 1st book by this author but just could not get past the first 20 pages or so. I stopped and started this book several times but found myself not really "vibe-ing" with it. Not sure why.

I LOVE thrillers and this book did not disappoint.
It keeps you guessing the entire time and really gives you that edge of your seat feeling as well as that uncomfortable-something-lurking-beneath-the-surface feeling. Definitely a must read for thriller/mystery fans!

An Anonymous Girl has been a most enjoyable read. The authors keep you turning the page to see what is going to happen. I found feeling both mad and compassion for Jessica. Just when i thought that I had it all figured out,
everything goes a whole different way. Wow!

I loved this book. I liked it how it built my anticipation. One thing with the book is that I found it very interesting except at the end when I found the climax fell a little flat and predictable. MAybe I expected a lot from this book.

A heart pounding game of cat and mouse you won't want to miss!
"You’re Invited: Seeking women aged 18 to 32 to participate in a study on ethics and morality conducted by a preeminent NYC psychiatrist. Generous compensation. Anonymity guaranteed. Call for more details.
It’s easy to judge other people’s choices. The mother with a grocery cart full of Froot Loops and Double Stuf Oreos who yells at her child. The driver of an expensive convertible who cuts off a slower vehicle. The woman in the quiet coffee shop who yaks on her cell phone. The husband who cheats on his wife.
But what if you knew the mother had lost her job that day?
What if the driver had promised his son he’d make it to his school play, but his boss had insisted he attend a last-minute meeting?
What if the woman in the coffee shop had just received a phone call from the love of her life, a man who’d broken her heart?
And what if the cheater’s wife habitually turned her back on his touch?
Perhaps you would also make a snap judgment about a woman who decides to reveal her innermost secrets to a stranger for money. But suspend your assumptions, at least for now.
We all have reasons for our actions. Even if we hide the reason from those who think they know us best. Even if the reasons are so deeply buried we can’t recognize them ourselves."

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is a fast paced thrilling novel with a unique and fresh storyline, well developed characters, and loaded with psychological suspence!
Makeup artist, Jessica Farris could always use some extra money so when she discovers a psychological study that seems simple enough and pays her good money for her time she doesn't even hesitate. The study is simple enough. Just answer questions centered around ethics and morality honestly (there are no wrong answers), and cash in.
Nothing is ever that easy and soon Jessica finds herself playing a dangerous game if cat and mouse that will have your heart in your throat and your nerves buzzing! This is an unputdownable psychological suspence thriller that is not to be missed!!
I have not had a chance to read more of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen but after reading this novel, I'm moving it to the top of my books to read as soon as possible!
Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen for this advanced digital copy to read and review.

Ho hum. I had to push through this one, because it was a book club selection. If it wasn't I would have likely DNF'd it. The premise created a thriller scenario and I did feel invested in reading how Jessica was going to manage the walls closing in on her and/or what Dr. Shields would try next. However, this was a short-lived interest. The story dragged on and on, with expected (yet not too shocking) intrusions and traps. The writing was dry and void of emotion. Even the creepiness factor of Dr. Shield's "voice" in those chapters just didn't seem right. Although I didn't love The Wife Between Us either, I fear I enjoyed this one even less.
