I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook version and the going back and forth between Jess and Dr. Shields, at the beginning it was a little hard to figure it out but quickly became obvious and the different perspectives on the same situation was quite interesting. I think I was expecting a little more "oomph" for the ending, though I'm not sure what I was looking for. Overall a great audiobook listen!

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is a psychological thriller that is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. This novel would be a very good book club book because there are so many ethical and moral decisions that are made by the characters as the novel progresses. The main characters are Dr. Shields, a female psychiatrist who is doing a study on morality and other psychological phenomenon. Jessica, Is also a main character who is a participant in Dr. Shields’study. Dr. Cooper, is the third main character and he is a psychiatrist and also Dr. Shields’ husband. What happens to each character and how have their decisions lad them to this place are seen as the plot is developed. Reading this was both enjoyable and fought provoking . Thank you to the authors, St.Martins Press and netgalley for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I didn't love these author's main debut with The Wife Between Us so I was skeptical about this one. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised by An Anonymous Girl. This is an interesting thriller that I breezed through in a couple evenings. I enjoyed the main characters, Jess and Dr. Shields. This thriller kept me guessing and kept me enthralled.

I received a copy of An Anonymous Girl through NetGalley for an honest review. Thanks to St. Martin's Press and to Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen for the opportunity.

This is a great mystery. It is the second book by this pair of authors and it was a very good follow-up. I highly recommend this book.

Overall this was an okay book. The premise was interesting, but there were some part that seemed to drag on and get a little boring.

I wasn't really sure what this one was about when I started reading it. I read it for a book group.
The book starts out a bit weird. The main character is not completely likeable. However, that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.
It is a twisted plot. The other main character is not very likeable at all.
The struggle for control between these two women is the crux of the story. I don't want to give up more than that.
It kept me guessing throughout.

What an absolutely fantastic book. I loved The Wife Between Us and I really hoped An Anonymous Girl would be just as good - and it was. Really gripping, a fantastic plot and characters that you love to hate but secretly love and wish you were like.

The plot was absolutely spot on and the whole idea of trusting someone and being part of a research project and doing anything they want you to do was so fascinating.

Jess and Dr Shields were such contrasting characters as well and the use of first and second person narratives was incredibly clever. The writing duo of Sarah and Greer is out of this world amazing and I cant wait to see what they write next.

What an intriguing read by the talented duo of Hendricks and Pekkanen! I was intrigued by the premise and the underlying theme- what would you do if you were hard up for cash and someone was offering you easy money with minimal strings attached? How far would you ultimately test your morals if this is the situation that you found yourself to be in?

As main character Jessica finds herself to be in increasingly sketchy scenarios put in place by the leader of the "study" that she is being paid to be in, I found myself wondering when I would find myself drawing the line. I also found myself on the edge of my seat wondering about Jessica's safety and the mindset of Dr. Shields, a character that it is easy not to like.

Ultimately I found this to be a fast-paced and enjoyable read that had me enjoying the slow build to the surprising conclusion. While a little more subtle than some psychological fiction that I've read in the past, this was no less enjoyable.

I absolutely loved Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen's first novel and thought the two-person writing style was seamless. I enjoyed An Anonymous Girl and would read anything else they decide to publish, but I definitely felt An Anonymous Girl was the weaker thriller.

Thank you Net Galley and publishers for an ARC. All opinions are my own.

This was a great story. It didn't immediately catch my attention at first, but as I continued to read my through the tangled web of emotions and character's stories, I was hooked. I enjoyed the different perspectives as the story alternated between two POVs. It was easy to be compassionate with the main character, but many twists and turns made this thriller fully enjoyable!

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pakkanen are a Suspense Powerhouse. Their books never disappoint and always keep the reader guessing. An Anonymous Girl explores how much are we willing to sacrifice in our most desperate moment.

This is a very entertaining page turner. I found it easy to disappear into this web of secrets and lies.

There is something very intriguing about a good cat and mouse story. The book begins with Jessica, a makeup artist living in NYC who poses as one of her rich college clients in order to make some quick cash. The local school is conducting a psychology study on ethics and morality that Jessica successfully sneaks into, or so she thinks. As the questions grow more and more invasive, she begins to wonder what the end game is for the mysterious Dr. Shields.

Green Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen weave a tale of obsession and deceit in An Anonymous Girl. I quite enjoy dual narrative books that offer the perspectives of both protagonist and "villain". The story allows the reader to watch everything unfold and see which tricks and traps succeed or fail. Overall, I enjoyed Jessica's character even though at times it seemed like she was smarter than her actions would have you believe. There were a couple of elements to Dr. Shields' character that I felt were a little bit of a stretch for a psychologist, even one with a dark agenda. For fans of domestic thrillers, An Anonymous Girls checks all the boxes of an enjoyable yet not quite memorable ride.

A great book of cat and mouse. Mystery, suspense, haunting, and thrilling. A great story. I love the tangled web that was weaved through the story and the way the story built up to keep you turning the pages. I loved the character development and the plot. Highly recommend. I would read anything these authors put out! Highly recommend. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for my advance copies. All opinions are my own.

WOW!!! I am kicking myself for not having read this book sooner, that was my first mistake. My second mistake was starting this book after dinner one night. The problem was the book was so good I stayed up into the wee hours of the night and devoured it! I was so invested in the story that I couldn't put it down and I HAD to know what was going to happen next. I loved the alternating points of view and knowing pieces of information before the characters do. I HIGHLY recommend this to thriller/suspense fans. This is certainly a book I will be recommending to family and friends. Excuse me while I go read other books by this duo.

This was an engaging thriller with some twists and turns I didn’t expect – I ended up staying up late to read it in two nights. However, I miss Sarah Pekkanen’s non-thriller books, which I thought were superb.

It started a bit slow, but then it picked up the pace; it was very good, and I wanted to know what Dr. Shields' motives were in her "psychology" study. Very good book, recommended for psychological thriller fans.

These authors are slowly becoming a new favorite of mine. I absolutely enjoyed this story and loved the contrast between Lydia and Jess. I have no words for how to describe the plot of this besides a psychological study that takes a turn. I definitely recommend others to read this.

I absolutely loved Hendricks and Pekkanen’s first book, The Wife Between Us. (You can read that review here!) When I heard about An Anonymous Girl, it instantly shot up in my must-read list!

Jessica Farris a freelance makeup artist running from a painful past and a devastating secret. She’s spent years burying herself in work and trying to forget about what she did. When an opportunity to make some quick cash presents itself, Jessica doesn’t hesitate before jumping on it. The task? Participating in a mysterious longterm psychological study on ethics and morality. As the experiment goes from the lab to the real world and the cash starts to roll in, Jess finds herself unsure to tell what’s real and what’s an experiment. Told from the dual viewpoints of Jess and her mysterious doctor, the web of deceit and manipulation spun by the omniscient Dr Shields becomes more and more dangerous. This twist-y psychological thriller had me on the edge of my seat and honestly, I devoured it.
