Each of the books in the In Focus series gives you an easy to read, introduction to a specific topic. In Focus palmistry gives you a lot of information about palmistry - including the fact that palm reading doesn't just focus on the lines in your palm. It includes other things like the shape of your fingers. My only complaint about the book is that the imagery could have been better.

There is more to reading someone's hand than just looking at the lines of the palm. This book explains how the shape of the hand, fingers and fingernails are as important as the lines of the palm, the fingerprints and so many more lines.
I was actually impressed how many different lines there are to be considered in a hand reading.

Great book for the beginner. I have wanted to get into Palmistry for some time now and have read a few books on the subject. Most of the books really were not written in easy instructions. The lines on the hand are pretty close together and if you aren't on the right line you give a wrong reading. This book was pretty helpful in getting the correct lines. The book was helpful and interesting.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.

Best part of this book: It's fully colored.
Palmistry is a complicated topic (at least I think so), but the charts and explanations made understanding details easier and more interesting. Thumbs up to the illustrations too!

Very straightforward with a clean design. It was informative and interesting. It also did not feel repetitive or like it was relying previous knowledge.

This is a in depth fascinating book about palm reading and how to read your own palms. The author has included diagrams, list of various areas of life to address as well as directions everyone new to palm reading can utilize easily . I will be referring to it time and time again as I learn this important craft. I would recommend the book version rather then the kindle. This is definitely one book i will be adding to my library ! thank you for the ARC . My opinion is my own. I highly recommend this book !

I'll be blunt here: I wanted to love this book, and didn't.

I've been fascinated with palmistry for years. An acquantaince at a psychic fair read my palm many moons ago, and foretold several interesting tidbits in my life. As well, a few folks have shook my hand, looked at my palm and then told me fascinating information (all accurate). So getting an advance copy of this book (thank you NetGalley and publisher!) was welcomed with glee.

Sadly, the book - like the others in the In Focus series - oddly jump right into the details without a lot of explanation or background. Yes, I realize this is a small, focused book - but if I know nothing about the topic I need a bit of an introduction. Instead, this book immediately discusses what palmistry can and cannot do.

Then we learn a small amount of history, and then the details of reading each part of the hand. Phew! This is overwhelming, and a bit too dense of material. The images, however, are delightful, useful and approrpriate. I wished there were one for every explanation, as a few times I couldn't tell if my own palm fit the description.

This is where the book fails, for me. Rarely did I find my palm in any of the readings. I don't think I'm that unusual, especially since others have read my palm effortlessly in the past. Yet, with each passing chapter I was left empty. Nope, not in the love line, fate line, apollo lione, fingers, fingerprints, thumb.... gosh, I'm nowhere in here. Okay, I give up.

I suspect for a book like this to succeed in it's task, it needs more illustrations covering every possible situation so that folks can feel included, or at least find the point to learning such a detailed craft. I, however, will continue to leave this art to the experts.

I received an ARC of this from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This was a neat and interesting book on how to read people’s palms and hands. It was a very informative introduction into the art of palmistry and it was fun to read my own hands as I did it. It is all up to interpretation of course so it wasn’t 100% accurate but it was cool nonetheless.
I would recommend to those interested in starting or just for interests sake.

I loved the way this book was laid out. Everything was beautifully designed and all the illustrations were very clear. Roberta Vernon does her best to explain an at times confusing topic and I really felt like I had learnt something by the end of the book!

I could not finish this book because just wasn't for me. I do like the bits of history of how palmistry started and all the fun history facts. However, palmistry is just not for me. It is fun and easy to read, just not the subject for me.

This is a well-written and very nicely produced book about Palmistry.
The illustrations were excellent - attractive and clear.
The topic relates to the theme of a tour I'm writing for the museum where I work and I found this guide surprisingly easy to follow - not all digital books work well in terms of instructional drawings. Much the best book on the topic I have come across. Thank you for the opportunity to read it. Recommended.

I have been fascinated by fortune tellers and psychics and various forms of body reading. Palmistry seems like one of the most basic forms. This book let me know there is much more to the science of reading the lines of the hand, and shapes of the fingers, etc. than I had suspected.

It is an informative and fun read.

I was very interested to know the art of reading hands and after this book I feel more compelled to continue my studies. One of the highlights of the book it's the simplicity in exemplifying the meanings behind each line and aspect that a hand can possess. Extremely didactic, the book manages to have a pleasant tone to the reader, without tiring the reading. It's a quick read. I just missed having a few more drawings showing some of the examples explained better, the lack of them sometimes left me confused. Other than that, it's a great book for who is starting on this area.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC, provided by the author and/or the publisher in exchange for an honest review

This is the first book on palmistry I have ever read, and I’m now obsessed with the practice. I was always under the impression that palmistry would be interesting but hard to understand. I love the way this book really lates a wonderful foundation for continuing my study of palmistry. I love that I didn’t feel confused at all while reading.

I have liked this introduction. Though I am not into palmistry I think that it can be a great introduction to this divination without looking at something that is ten or fifteen years old.

A quick read with insight into palmistry. Perfect for those curious about just what mediums are reading.

This book is a great reference guide for learning and practicing palmistry. It gives information on how to interpret the major and minor lines on palms (including variations and what they could mean), analyzing fingers, fingerprints, ridges, color variations, nails, and the back of the hand too. I have read books on palmistry before and really appreciated all of the information that was given in this book, especially the tips and the personal stories that made the information even more relatable. I thought the guide was easy to follow and the pictures that go with each section really helped. I also love that a wall chart would be included with the book. This would be a great reference guide to have around and check back with and share with friends and practice reading other’s palms!
