What a better way to kiss October goodbye than delving into a sweet, heartwarming Autumn romance?

I finished it in a matter of a few days, so I can say that October Kiss is hard to put down. I had a great time reading about how Poppy is navigating adulthood and all its expectations. She’s an endearing, quirky character you definitely want to see get her happy ending. I believe she’ll be easy to relate to for a lot of women out there who find it hard to figure out their place in today’s demanding world. From messed-up dates to professional hiccups, Poppy never gives up and shows a “can-do” attitude, especially with Ryan’s kids who’ve had their fair share of heartbreaks and family drama in their lives.

Overall, October Kiss is a lovely romance that will surely put you in the season’s atmosphere. From pumpkin carving to dressing up and having fun decorating your house, this book will give you great ideas, and offer some sense of escapism, all the while conveying a relevant message about living in the moment and picking the right priorities in life. Highly recommended!

it’s a cute romance story.
sadly i can’t say i loved it as much as the other hallmark books i read so far, but that’s only natural!
Its a perfect read for the fall, not just because of the cover but because the entire book has a very autumnal feel throughout it.
But sadly i can't say that the overall book felt special or and it was just a good book not one of those romance book i need on my shelves since i don't plan reread this one even though it was fun and a very fast read so all in all a good book.

This is such a sweet story about a young woman who doesn't think she is good at anything until she finds where she belongs. From yoga instructor to pizza maker none of these jobs are worthwhile.
Beginning a nanny job was just what is needed until the kids start to make her feel like she is not good at this job either. Little does she know she will find her true calling. You will want to read this one. Pick it up soon.

I enjoyed this book, I read it after reading something heavier and it was just what I was looking for. The story's female lead, Poppy, can't quite commit to anything for too long - relationships or employment. Her sister sets her up with Ryan, an acquaintance who is a widow and a workaholic and is seeking a nanny for his two elementary aged kids. Some bumps follow with miscommunication and getting-to-know-you growing pains, with a hope for romance. This was a quick read, and although a bit predictable, it was nice. I'd be interested in seeing the Hallmark movie to see if/how character descriptions match how I envisioned in my head.

Title: October Kiss

Author: Kristen Ehtridge

Chapters: 10 plus epilogue

Pages: 260

Genre: Sweet Romance, Clean Romance, Hallmark book

Rating: 4 stars

October Kiss by Kristen Ehtridge is a sweet romance sent in the month of October. With it being from Hallmark Publishing it doesn't surprise me that its so sweet and reads like a Hallmark movie, which it is. I can't wait to watch the movie. This book reminded me of what I loved about the Hallmark movies especially the holiday ones. If I hadn't need to get sleep for work the next day I could have finished the book in one day instead of the two it did take me.
Poppy has problems with commitment as in she hasn't been able to commit to anything long term, that includes jobs, school or relationships. Ryan is a businessman and a workaholic he has been since his wife's death even though he has two kids at home, Zoe and Zach. At her sister's urging Poppy becomes a temporarily nanny for Ryan's children. She plans to only stay through Halloween neither of them plan on it being anything more. Poppy helps to bring life back into the house as she helps the kids decorate for Halloween.
I've always loved Hallmark movies especially the Christmas ones and now I love reading the book version of those same movies. Though I haven't really watch any Hallmark movies in over two years. Watching the Hallmark Christmas movies and other Holiday movies was something that my mom and I did together she loved all holidays much like Zoe and Zach's mom in this book. Especially Halloween and Christmas and losing her two years ago I kind of let the tradition go away, but after reading this sweet story and knowing its also a movie has me wanting to try to watch Hallmark's Christmas movies this year. The one thing I learned while reading this book is that by keeping up with Holiday traditions is a way to keep a loved ones memory alive. I look forward to more books by this author, as well as other Hallmark Publishing books.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Ingredients:

1 warm favorite turtleneck sweater

1 pair of leggings

1 pair of thick scrunchy socks to match

1 cup of either hot apple cider or pumpkin latte

2 or 3 pumkin spiced cookies

1 scented apple/cinnamon candle (lit of course!)

1 October Kiss book

Optional : fireplace on

I absolutely adore this beautiful cover. This book is an excellent way to get you in the mood for Autumn and light romance. It will propel you into the mood for walking among those colorful leaves on the ground, go for a drive to see the scenery out in the country or mountains, go to pumpkin patches, go for bonfires, hayrides, apple cider, apple dunkin', Halloween decorations, and etc.

I had no idea this book was based on the movie on Hallmark. I don't know which is better, the book or the movie. I haven't seen the movie. I hardly watch television nowadays.

This story is so sweet, gentle, and light reading. You'll fall in love with most of the characters.

I wouldn't mind reading more books from Hallmark just to get me in a lighter happy mood.

I'll give it a low 4 stars.

I received this heartwarming ARC from Hallmark Publishing through Net Galley in exchange for my honest unbiased review. Thank you! Love the cover!

I love Hallmark movies as much as the next girl but this one just didn’t do it for me. A little too much cheesiness and not enough spark for me.

October Kiss is just what I needed in a book right now. A beautiful Autumn cover to pick up the mood and what a fun, feel good book. This Autumn book is perfect for reading while you're snuggling with your cat and sipping tea. Young twenty something, Poppy is bursting with energy, not quite sure what she wants to do career-wise, she was fired from 2 jobs in one day she bounces from job to job trying them out. Taking care of her sister's kids she decides to be a pretend nanny to a young, handsome workaholic. After all she feels bad for his kids and knows they need the attention he's not giving them, after all they and him too can only benefit, right? Not knowing this was a Hallmark movie when I read this I enjoyed it very much. But I can definitely see how it was a Hallmark movie. It has a great, moving feel good plot and it's a clean romance which is a big plus. I would definitely love to read more Hallmark books soon.

Great read it makes me want to watch the Hallmark movie the book is based on. This book is all about finishing what you start and falling in love along the way. You have a widowed dad who is a workaholic (Ryan), Zoe and Zach (his children), Poppy ( there temporary Nanny) and Abigail (Ryan’s coworker who wants to be more than just a coworker). Poppy with the help of Zoe and Zach teaches Ryan what family time is again. Ryan falls in love,.....
Can't wait for more from this author.

This book speaks Hallmark! It is cute, sweet with that dash of cheese! I really enjoyed it.
It is about a family who has a temporary nanny to two children who's father is too consumed with his business. She brings the family back to life.
This book speaks "autumn". Pumpkins, Halloween, decorating and love!

I love Hallmark movies. So I was very excited to review some Hallmark books.

I come with a different expectation when reading a Hallmark book. I know how the movies are so that is what I expect with the book. It’s a different expectation then I have with other books.

So this book was what I expected. It good romance with a sweet storyline. I could easily picture this taking place in my mind.

It certainly put me in the fall state of mind.

If you love Hallmark movies why not enjoy a Hallmark book, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

A copy of this book was given to me through Netgalley.com. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book I've read that was based on a movie, and since I haven't seen the movie I didn't have any expectations for what the book should be. Poppy Summerall hasn't yet found what she really wants to do in life. She didn't finish her college degree, and she's tried being a yoga instructor, and working in a pizza place which didn't work out too well. She's living with her sister, Megan, to help with her niece and nephew while Megan's husband is deployed. Poppy loves her family, autumn, especially Halloween.

Ryan Larson is a widower with two young children, who still seems to be adjusting to single-parenthood. He's very focused on the upcoming launch of his new app, relying on its launch to secure his children's future. He keeps telling himself once the launch is done in a few weeks everything in his life will settle down, and he will be able to give Zoe and Zach the attention and care they need. He's been through a slew of nannies the past few months and hires Poppy because Megan's kids play with Zoe and Zach.

Poppy originally came across to me as a little flaky and a free spirit, until she becomes Ryan's latest nanny. She's just what this family needed, especially the kids. She tries to get Ryan to understand that work will always be there and his children need his attention now, but it didn't really sink in until he missed the school carnival. I LOVED the "evaluation scene", and was truly surprised that Ryan took it to heart like he did.

Ryan loves his children but is a workaholic. He was used to having his wife, Laurie, run the household and do most of the parenting while he worked. He kept telling himself that the launch of his app was to secure his children's future and after the big launch he'd have more time for his children, but I felt that without Poppy it wouldn't have worked out that way. Poppy helped him see his priorities were mixed up.

This was a heartwarming story, and I didn't feel it was sappy in any way. I'm glad it had an epilogue showing a glimpse into their lives a year later. What a difference a year makes. Thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark publishing to allowing me to read and review this book.

Fun, fast read about a country music star who returns to his small hometown with plans to sell his birthplace and return to his fiance in California. Returning home, he reconnects with childhood friends and his first love. Clean cut romance with enough action to keep it interesting and to keep the reader curious as to what will happen next.

This is a nice, clean story that will just make you happy and hopeful while you read it. Poppy is a breath of fresh air as she brings the joy of fall, pumpkins, and Halloween back to this family that has lost their wife and mother. It is a beautiful story of a family needing love, joy, and each other after having spent several years without their wife and mother who died. Their nanny, Poppy is a colorful character, who helps heal this family as she reinvents her love for October, pumpkins, and Halloween with Zoe and Zach.. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

October Kiss was a fun, sweet, feel good story, that really made me smile.

Poppy and Ryan are complete opposites. She’s energetic and so full of life and he’s an obsessed workaholic.

Poppy has a hard time staying with one job. She just doesn’t seem to be able to find the right one for her.

Ryan is a widowed father of two great children. He’s trying so hard to secure their future that he seems to be too busy to spend time with them.

Poppy is just what these kids need and Ryan too.

I loved this story. This was my first read by Kristen Ethridge and it won’t be my last.

I recommend this book.

Poppy’s tried a lot of things. Yoga instruction. Pizza making. So far, none of them have seemed like her thing. Still, she doesn’t have to know where her life is headed to live it with enthusiasm.

Ever since his wife’s death, Ryan’s thrown himself into his work. Launching a successful new app will secure his children’s future…even if it means he can’t spend much time with them now.

As a short-term nanny for Ryan’s children, Poppy brings some much-needed fun and laughter. She’s never been one to commit, so why is she feeling so attached to these children…and even more, to their dad? Could it be she’s found her place at last?

Poppy is such a fun character and how she makes the kids feel is a warm feeling. But as she starts falling for Ryan and he starts falling for her things get complicated by Ryan's associate who is very interested in Ryan. This story made you want to be there and be a part of all the fun shopping for Halloween decorations and pumpkins. Putting up all the decorations and making costumes. I do remember watching this Hallmark movie and enjoying it.
