Famous pop star Jackson Wilder crashes his truck on the way to his secluded cabin getaway. Now no one knows where he is, including his agent. Miranda is a single mother trying to keep the spirit of Christmas alive for her six year old son Ollie. This year Ollie has asked for Santa's help in healing his horse that Miranda rescued. When Ollie finds "Santa" asleep in their horse barn life as Miranda knows it is history. She finds the inured Jackson in a Santa suit. He agrees to play along that he is Santa until he is healed enough to leave. What started out as a short reprieve ends up being the best thing to inspire Jackson to write his next album. What started out as playing the role of Santa so a little boy would keep his belief in Christmas ends up changing Jackson forever. Sometimes a time out from real life makes you see what has been missing all along. Great read.

this was a fast easy read. I really enjoyed it. I loved how Ollie really believed that Jackson was Santa. I really liked how Jackson convinced Miranda that he meant business and was not just stringing her along.

I recommend this book if you are looking for an easy read. It is just straight romance and very enjoyable.

Thank you Netgalley and Tule Publishing for allowing me to read this title for an honest review.

Jackson is finishing up a project where he is playing Santa. He is ready to go away and write some new material in the mountains of Colorado away from everything. His manager is worried about him driving up because he hasn't driven in snowy conditions before. He is more a beach and sand type of guy. On his trip up he slides into a snow bank and is injured but able to make himself to a barn near by.
Miranda is the single Mom of 6 year old Ollie. He has just came in while she is cooking dinner and told her Santa is in the barn hurt. He has been out in the barn checking on his sick horse Twisty. She is not sure what he has seen and goes to investigate leaving him in the house. She ask him to stay put but he has other ideas. While she is peaking in on mystery Santa, Ollie sneaks in. Jackson/Santa has a ankle that is pretty sore and injured so Miranda allows him under the condition he continues to play Santa. Ollie believes Santa will heal Twisty.
Jackson and Miranda have strong attraction to each other. Miranda not knowing who he is or that he is a celebrity. Jackson likes the idea she has not clue. He helps Miranda out with Ollie believing in Santa and promises he will not disappoint him. She shows him things he has been missing in his celebrity life and he wants to enjoy it. She runs a horse rescue and she has been given notice she has to move her horses. The gentleman who allows her to stable the horses has been giving her a good price but his estate and lawyers are telling her that she cant do it anymore. Jackson offers to help build stables at her home, but she wont let him.
While he is there he writes a Christmas song which he thought he would never do. He leaves to go home to record it and returns to her with a gift. It is a gift of his heart and a gift for the horses.
I enjoyed this sweet story. I have not read Erica Marks before but look forward to reading more of her .books.

Stevie‘s review of Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks
Contemporary Holiday Romance published by Tule Publishing 25 Sep 18

Romances in which one protagonist is the only person who fails to recognise the other protagonist as a current A-list celebrity require a hefty suspension of disbelief. Which, fortunately, I can manage far better when it comes to Christmas stories than with those set at almost any other time of the year. Of course, the rest of the story has to hang together with some reasonable degree of logic in order to allow that one big glaring plot hole. It’s one thing to realise after the fact that the person who looked oddly like someone famous as you passed them in the street is indeed that star, but quite another to spend time with them and still not realise – especially in this internet and information age. This book’s heroine, however, is far too busy to follow online gossip, or any other kind for that matter.

Miranda O’Keefe is kept occupied by her rural veterinary practice and her rescued horses, not to mention the full-time job of being a single parent to a boisterous six-year-old boy. As the snow starts to come down heavily, she is busy in her kitchen making Christmas treats on a rare afternoon off, when her kid comes in to inform her that Santa is unconscious in the horse barn and in need of her attention. Just to add to the pressure, young Oliver is particularly keen that they make Santa well again, because he is convinced that’s the only way their latest equine visitor will also recover. Although Miranda is sceptical, there is indeed a man in a Santa suit crashed out on the hay, and she sets about treating his injuries while also warning him not to try anything.

Having finished recording his Christmas appearances in advance, singer-songwriter Jackson Wilder is keen to get as far away from his adoring but intrusive fans as possible and sets off in his rented truck for a secluded cabin, still wearing his Santa costume to ensure none of them follow him. Unfortunately, Jackson has no experience of winter driving, and so the truck ends up in a ditch and he ends up sheltering in the nearest barn. Which is where Miranda finds him.

Having established that Jackson is shaken and bruised, rather than seriously injured, Miranda invites him to stay over – in the barn’s living accommodation for propriety’s sake – at least until the snow clears. Jackson agrees, glad to have found an alternative holiday retreat with someone who isn’t a fan – and, in fact, appears not to have heard any of his songs, at least not before before meeting Jackson and being told who he is. Jackson also agrees to keep wearing the Santa costume for Oliver’s sake, even though this means he can’t wash the dye from his hair and beard either.

Jackson, Miranda, and Oliver settle down to wait for the snow to thaw – fortunately Miranda has a veterinary technician who can take care of the rest of her charges while she can’t get into town – and enjoy some good old-fashioned winter activities, the ‘back in the day we made our own fun’ variety. Of course, there are some metaphorical storm clouds on the horizon: Jackson has to go back to recording and touring once the holiday season is over and Miranda worries that her new horse isn’t going to recover, as well as having to face the possibility of losing the stabling she’s been renting for her other rescues. The solution to all the problems is fairly obvious, but the characters are cute together, which makes for a heart-warming seasonal story by an author I’d like to discover more from in the future.

Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks is just one of those wonderful Christmas stories.
It´s such a sweet story that will stay with you long after you are done.
Pop star Jackson Wilder strands in Miranda O’Keefe´s barn, still wearing a Santa costume and from here the story just takes off.
It´s the building blocks for a great Christmas story that won´t disappoint.

Oh wow! This story is so sweet! I loved Jackson, Miranda and Ollie, and the notion that a famous rock star wearing a Santa suit could happily play along with the charade to keep a little boy’s fantasy alive. It’s a fresh take on the idea of strangers stranded in the snow together and it works really well. Rescued By Christmas is a short read, perfect for a lazy afternoon. It is beautifully paced and I couldn’t put it down. Excellent feel good reading!

4.5 Stars

Rescued by Christmas marks my first time reading Erika Marks. If all of her stories are as sweet and heartwarming as this one is, then she has a new fan. The cover is what captured my attention. The blurb is what had me wanting to read the book. I mean who can resist a stranded Christmas story, with a six-year-old believing in Santa Claus? Definitely not me.

Jackson Wilder is a popular country music singer. He never seems to have time for himself, and people know him wherever he goes. It’s three weeks before Christmas and he’s looking forward to being off grid in a mountain hideaway. Jackson is so excited that once he finishes filming his commercial, where he’s dressed as Santa Claus, he hightails it straight to his car. How hard can it be for a California native use to driving on the sand to drive in a snowy blizzard? The answer is very hard. Jackson crashes and injures himself but manages to find shelter in a barn before passing out.

With school closed due to the unexpected blizzard, six-year-old Oliver “Ollie” O’Keefe finds himself running to the barn to check on his mom’s newest rescue horse, Twisty. Not only does he find Twisty still looking sad, depressed, and dispirited, he finds Santa injured and unconscious. Making a Christmas wish that Santa saves Twisty, Ollie runs off to get band-aids and runs into his mother.

Being trapped in a blizzard is bad enough. But being trapped with a complete stranger when help is hours away is horrible. But Miranda is a vet and knows this stranger needs help. In a moment of weakness, Miranda finds herself asking Jackson to continue pretending to be Santa for Ollie’s sake. To her surprise, Jackson agrees. In a matter of days, these complete strangers create the foundation for a truly happy home and loving family.

Erika has written a really likeable and enjoyable story. All the characters were amazing. I literally smiled the whole time I was reading Rescued by Christmas. This was a sweet romance that had me wishing Christmas was around the corner. My only complaint about the story is that I would have really really liked to have seen what Christmas morning was like and more of Ollie.

This was a quick read. The writing flowed well, and the characters were okay. This is a sweet read, with no steamy scenes. They don't even share a kiss until almost the end of the story. I liked them together okay. Miranda was constantly panicked and worried about something. She also was pretty rude to Jackson at the end, and I'm not really sure why. It's never explained why she feels the way she does. Oliver was a very cute secondary character. This was a first for me from this author, but I would read her again.

Heartwarming tale of 'Santa' and love . . .

What a fun yet emotive festive read this proved to be! When the blizzard that caused pop star Jackson Wilder to crash he took refuge in the horse barn, still dressed in the Santa costume he’d worn to a photoshoot. Just image a six year old discovering him asleep in there just days before Christmas . . . well that’s what Ollie did in this story! His Mum is a vet, Miranda O’Keefe, and she’s bringing Ollie up on her own and running a project to rescue abandoned, ill treated and unwanted horses. Ollie asks Santa for a very special present for Christmas – that Twisty is healed. The storm prevents Jackson leaving but when Miranda doesn’t recognise him and attraction grows between them maybe fate has a special Christmas present in store for all three of them!

This is a heartwarming festive read with an especially cute six year old as the main catalyst for all that happens. The characters are all well developed and it is a story of healing and love in this special season, a lovely, sweet romance to escape into that will leave you with a smile on your face – I have no hesitation in highly recommending this whatever the season!

I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

Cute story about pop singer Jackson Wilder who gets stranded in Colorado while on a short vacation. He ends up injured in a barn owned by Miranda O'Keefe. Miranda's 6 year old son Ollie finds him, and since Jackson is dressed up as Santa Claus - well, you can see where the story might go from here.

Miranda is a veterinarian who is also rescuing horses. When Ollie asked Santa to help heal Twisty, their newest rescue who is very ill, Miranda asked Jackson to play along.

Before long, Jackson starts writing music, Christmas music! He said he'd never record a Christmas album, but maybe he will, and include some new Christmas songs, along with some of the standards.

Sparks fly between Miranda and Jackson, but will they be able to make a relationship work?

This was a quick enjoyable festive read. Jackson is a pop star who is desperate for some alone time. After he has finished his commercial, he hopes to make a quick get a way dressed in a Santa suit.
On his way to his secluded cabin a blizzard forces him off the road and into a barn.
Miranda is a busy single Mom who runs her own vets practice. As well as horse rescue, she barely has time to deal with what she already has on her plate. Let alone a hurt celebrity in her barn. Things are made even more difficult when her son finds him and thinks he is the real Santa. Miranda is desperate not to let her little boy down and begs him to stick around and pretend to be the real Santa, in exchange he can stay with them and get away from his crazy life. Pick up a copy and enjoy the romance of the season. Highly recommended. Would make a great Hallmark holiday movie.

This is such a charming story that you’ll literally not want it to end...there is a certain, for the lack of a better term, gentleness in the story and its characters. The story is not rushed, it just enfolds to capture your heart and restore the belief in the goodness of strangers and the magic of believing. The warmth of the HEA for Jackson and Miranda...and Ollie leaves the sweetest impression that is sure to set the stage for the Christmas season.

A little boy discovers Santa hiding in his barn, and the magic of Christmas is upon him. Turns out, Santa is a pop star recovering from an accident. As he recovers from his injuries, Jackson Wilder finds Miranda and Ollie the best hosts. Miranda O'Keefe is a veterinarian with a struggling horse rescue ranch, money is tight, and she may lose everything. Jackson owes his record label a hit Christmas song, and he delivers--with one caveat--his profits are to be donated to save the ranch. Ollie only wants his horse, Twisty, to be healed. How many miracles can Santa perform? The best gift might be a ready-made family Jackson never knew he wanted while Miranda might find relying on someone to shoulder the load is better than doing it alone. Christmas is right around the corner, and time is not on their side, but this year, Christmas might just be rescued!

Ted was Jackson’s agent and wished Jackson would let someone drive him or wait into the morning as there is a snow storm and Jackson had only driven in snow once. This time he would be driving up a mountain for two weeks in a mountain hideaway he had rented. Jackson was a pop star and just wanted some peace and privacy. He just finished doing some holiday commercials and he was still in a Santa Claus outfit. Ted pointed out he had fans waiting and he could slid out the side door in the Santa outfit and that is just what Jackson did he wanted to get started and get to his hideaway. Jackson had wanted to give back this year, something meaningful. Jackson usually loved connecting with his fans but he wanted to get on the road. Miranda had worked three jobs to put herself through vet school, it was amazing how much pride she put in not burning a batch of gingerbread cookies. The blizzard had kept Miranda home from work and her six year old son Oliver/Ollie from kindergarten today. Miranda worked a full time job, then she had her horse rescue program-Free Spirits, and trying to bring her most recent rescue horse-Twisty- back to health. She’d even given up having a Christmas tree this year this may be all the Christmas there would be and she felt horribly guilty about it. Then Ollie was looking for the kitchen drawer and when Miranda asked what he was doing her said looking for big band-aids because Santa was hurt real bad and needed them. Then Ollie added he had seen Santa in the barn just now when he went to check on Twisty and Santa was sleeping against the hay and had a real bad cut on his hand. Miranda made it out to the barn and found Jackson there but all she knew was he was a hot Santa impostor. Ollie came out to the barn even though Miranda had told him to stay locked in at the house but he said he found the band-aides. Then Ollie begged Miranda not to let Santa die. The man in front of Miranda was obviously in pain and it was her duty to help him. Miranda asked Jackson to pretend to be Santa Claus until she could figure out how to tell him Twisty might not make it and he has bonded with the horse. Then she muttered never mind and went to get him something to eat. But Ollie believed he was Santa as Jackson thought about everything including getting out of there. If he was going to emerge from this accident unscathed he had to ride it out as long as possible. But where? Jackson couldn’t go anywhere for the time being even if he wanted to with the winter storm. The attraction between Miranda and Jackson grows as time goes on. Jackson also cares for Ollie. Maybe this is what he needed.
I really enjoyed this book. Never too early for a story full of Christmas magic. I loved Ollie and all he added to this book. I really liked Miranda and Jackson together and how they interacted. I liked how their attraction grew with time. I wish this was a little longer. I chuckled at times and I choked up at times while reading this. As the holiday season soon approaches this was a good start off of holiday reading. Wish I could have rated this a 4.5 as this book deserved it. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
