Christmas and children just go together. Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks has both including a pop star dressed as Santa Claus stranded in a blizzard. This is a charming novella, which could only be better if it had been longer. The characters are people you would like to have as neighbors, then there is six-year-old, Ollie, a true delight.

Jackson Wilder may not be the real Santa Claus but he is able to work his magic for Miranda and her son. A story that will put you in the holiday spirit even if it has just turned fall.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a quick read, feel good, instant love story against the back drop of Christmas. It was a pleasant way to quickly pass a few hours but does not go deeply into either character's back story, so we don't know much about what the story is with Miranda's son's father or the alluded to troubles of Jackson's childhood. The holidays will be upon us soon and it was nice to get an early sneak peek!

Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks
All pop star Jackson Wilder wants this Christmas is a few weeks out of the spotlight in a rented cabin in the Colorado mountains. But when a blizzard leaves him stranded on a country road on his way out of town—and still wearing the Santa costume from a last-minute commercial shoot—he takes shelter in a nearby horse barn to wait out the storm.
Miranda O’Keefe will be lucky to get a wreath up on her door this year. Between raising her six year-old son, Ollie, running her vet practice, and getting her horse rescue project off the ground—Christmas will have to take a back seat. But when Ollie tells Miranda he’s found Santa Claus asleep in their horse barn—and has asked Santa to heal his beloved rescue horse Twisty—the self-reliant single mother finds herself asking for a stranger’s help to grant her son’s Christmas wish.
But when attraction turns to affection, will love come to the rescue this holiday for Miranda and Jackson too?
This is Miranda O’Keefe and Jackson Wilder's story.
Miranda O’Keefe pulled open the oven door and blew out a relieved breath. For someone who’d worked three jobs to put herself through vet school, it was shocking how much pride she took in not burning a batch of gingerbread men.
The kitchen, which usually reeked of take-out Chinese or microwave burritos, now smelled sweetly of cinnamon and cloves, the unmistakable and glorious fragrance of Christmas. She’d even clicked on one of Pandora’s holiday playlists and had Nat King Cole chiming out “O Holy Night.”
one of Pandora’s holiday playlists and had Nat King Cole chiming out “O Holy Night.”
Slipping her hands into a pair of padded oven mitts, Miranda pulled out the two sheets and set them on the top of the stove to cool, taking a moment to savor her uncharacteristically festive behavior. Most Christmases found her madly cutting out store-bought cookie dough Christmas Eve, but here she was, three weeks before the big night, with two dozen gingerbread cookies. So what if it was only because this crazy pop-up blizzard had kept her home from work, and Oliver home from kindergarten? She’d still allow herself a little pat on the back. Especially since this fit of homemaking skills might be her peak for this year’s holiday. Between working full-time, keeping up her horse rescue program Free Spirits, and trying to bring her most recent rescued horse back to health, she’d given up on having a Christmas tree this year—and felt crippling guilt for it.
Thursday night—Three weeks to Christmas.“Jacks, are you sure you won’t wait until morning to leave?”
Jackson Wilder tossed his agent a warning glance over his shoulder as Ted Carlisle followed him into his dressing room and closed the door behind them.
Not a chance. After a long day of filming holiday commercial spots, all Jackson wanted was to get out of this big red oven mitt and on the road to his mountain hideaway. Two glorious weeks off the grid, where he could pretend to be the unknown California beach bum he was before his break-out single, “Under Your Skin,” made him one of the country’s hottest pop stars five years ago. And no stalled snowstorm was going to mess it up for him.

I have enjoyed Erika Marks’ stories for years. I always know that I’m in for a romantic, emotional treat when I pick up one of her books and Rescued by Christmas certainly fit that expectation perfectly. How can you not fall in love with little Ollie? He is so adorable, his faith in the miracles that Santa can accomplish is unwavering. I just wanted to wrap that little boy in a hug. His love and devotion to his horse, Twisty, will melt even the most Grinch-like heart.

Jackson and Miranda make a lovely couple, both devoted to their careers but more importantly to making one little boy’s Christmas wish become a reality. Miranda is a strong, independent woman who knows the reality of hard work in both raising her son and in the horse rescue project she’s committed to. It’s not exactly easy for her to let Jackson in but he’s proving to be far more than she ever imagined. Jackson, well I did definitely fall in love with him. Any man who can rock a Santa suit and still keep a little boy’s faith in possibilities secure is a man I’d not mind in my life. Watching the interactions between Ollie and Jackson were truly heart melting times indeed.

Frankly, I simply had a great time with Rescued by Christmas and these people who bring the heart of Christmas with their actions, their words and their hearts. This one will definitely be on my yearly Christmas read list. I would recommend this story for any reader who simply loves the magic of Christmas… and the magic of falling in love.

LOVED this heartwarming sweet holiday read. Jackson Wilder is a musician that is just looking for a little downtime for the holidays. When he heads to a cabin in the mountains still in the Santa suit he wore for a commercial he crashes his car before he gets there he finds himself in a barn looking up into the eyes of an adorable little boy and his not so happy mother. The little guy assumes he's the real Santa and Jackson agrees to hang around and not disappoint the little guy. Jackson soon realizes this is exactly what he's been missing in his life. A good woman and a family. Could he make these two his?

This is a quick read but it is very well done and will leave you smiling. Definitely a book I recommend.

Loved this heartwarming Christmas story of believing. Be careful what you wish for? Pop star Jackson Wilder wants some time off to regroup and rents a cabin in the mountains, when a blizzard leaves him stranded in a barn while wearing a Santa suit. Miranda a single mom raising her six year old son, Ollie finds "Santa", Jackson sleeping the barn. Miranda is busy with being a vet and has her horse rescue project. Ollie asks Santa for one wish, to help save one of the rescue horses that is not doing good. Soon a friendship develops between the three of them, each healing in their own ways.

This is the perfect sweet romance to read in the afternoon, and you soon will start to believe in miracles. I highly recommend this book.

Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks. I liked this Christmas book. Is a very cute story. I liked that this six year old believed in Santa Claus and was asking for his wish for his horse to get better. He believed that all he had to do was ask Santa and his wish would come true. Christmas is for magic and this story fulfilled that magic.

This book is magical just like Santa.
You have a injured music star who looks like Santa, a single mom who is a vet and runs a horse rescue and a little boy. Ollie believes Santa can cure Twistie his rescue horse.
This book is about a “song” written for a special lady, gingerbread and trusting another.
Rescued by Christmas is a heartfelt book about letting Love happen.

Rescued by Christmas is a cute, heartwarming, sweet story. Jackson is a tired pop star needing a break. Oliver is a young boy needing to believe in a miracle. Miranda is a single mother, a veterinarian & the head of Free Spirits, a horse rescue organization. As they grow closer during a snow storm, Jackson’s words begin to flow.

This was a very sweet story with the suggestion of chemistry between Jackson & Miranda. Oliver’s never ending faith causes the reader to want to believe. Miranda is strong & independent, sometimes too independent. She doesn’t want to rely on anyone. They all need some Christmas love, faith & yes, even a miracle.

This is the story of Miranda and Santa/Jackson. I enjoyed the author's writing style as they got to know one another. Add in one adorable little boy who believes Santa is hurt and in their barn and this has all the makings of my favorite Holiday type romance. The story was building up nicely, but the ending seemed to come too abruptly. I felt the story took an unrealistic turn with how quickly his Christmas song was written, recorded and being played on radio. The book seemed too short for me.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest opinion.

4 Ollie Stars
This has everything you could want for a Christmas tale. A pop star out of his element stuck in a snow storm after crashing his car. Topping it off is his being in a Santa suit from wrapping up a commercial shoot. In comes Ollie a very cute boy who thinks this pop star IS Santa! He asks for the most difficult gift and then the boy's mom sees what is happening. Mom is a vet and also rescues horses so all of this ties together.

We get Christmas, snow, a very cute boy and possible love.

4 Stars - I recommend if you enjoy contemporary Christmas fiction.

This is quintessential Christmas fiction for me. It was cute, fluffy, and had a lot of Christmassy activities in it. I loved Jackson and Miranda, they were cautious but hopeful in a way that only fluffy books can pull off, and Ollie was the cutest. I loved all of Ollie's very kiddo questions, and the fun that he brought to the book. I loved that Miranda was a vet, and the horse rescue element of the book as well. All of the cozy family meals, decorating the tree, sledding, etc. definitely put me in the holiday spirit. This had romance in it, but it wasn't overly romantic which worked out well with the family aspect. Definitely PG. :) Basically this is exactly the kind of book I am looking for when I pick up a Christmas novel. Definitely recommend if you enjoy Christmas fiction!

This is a first for me by this author.

Pop Star Jackson Wilder... wants to get away from everything, upon finishing his gig where's he's been a temporary Santa, he heads to the Mountain Cabin to relax for Christmas.
Miranda O’Keefe has a young son Oliver, they tend to rescue horses, keeping the damaged ones at their house barn for constant care.

Jackson has an accident and ends up in Miranda's barn whilst still wearing the Santa suit... Oliver finds him and goes running to find mum saying Santa is hurt... intrigued to what he's on about she goes to see for herself.
Miranda helps Jackson and lets him stay there until the blizzard passes. During this time, Ollie comes to believe Jackson really is Santa. Jackson and Miranda play along with it to keep Ollie happy. But as the days pass, it gets harder to keep Jackson’s true identity a secret. Will they be able to pull it off until Christmas? And, will Jackson be able to fulfil Ollie’s one Christmas wish?

Ollie is a sweet little guy you just can't help falling for and I enjoyed the background of the horse rescue and how much of her heart Miranda put into helping the horses.

The story flowed along nicely whilst keeping it fun but light-hearted and entertaining.

Thank-You Netgalley for my ARC.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. It was an enjoyable story. We meet a mother and her son who live in a log cabin in Colorado. Jackson, a musical star finds himself in their barn after a car accident during a snow storm. He was dressed as Santa for a show and the son Ollie thinks he’s the real Santa. He asks Santa to save the sickly rescue horse his mom the vet has staying with them. The story explains the relationship between the 3 of them. I wish it was longer and didn’t end so suddenly. Very good plot.

A sweet story about an unlikely match who make a memorable Christmas for one special little boy.

Pop star, Jackson Wilder, just finished up shooting a Christmas commercial where he portrayed Santa right down to the red suit and spray on white hair and beard. He slipped out the back door in his costume so his fans wouldn’t recognize him and hit the road to the cabin that he rented to spend Christmas alone working on some new songs. Along the way Jackson loses control of his car in the snow and wrecks. He manages to get himself to a barn to take shelter only to be found by Ollie who thinks he really is Santa and he is hurt.

When Ollie comes running to his mom, Miranda O’Keefe, claiming Santa is hurt and needs help, Miranda goes to see what he’s talking about. She helps Jackson and lets him stay there until the blizzard passes. During this time, Ollie comes to believe Jackson really is Santa. Jackson and Miranda play along with it to keep Ollie happy. But as the days pass, it gets harder and harder to keep Jackson’s true identity a secret. Will they be able to pull it off until Christmas? And, will Jackson be able to fulfill Ollie’s one Christmas wish, to help their horse Twisty get better?

I enjoyed this book. It was almost too short for me. I was really getting into the story when it started wrapping up. I liked the relationship that Miranda and Jackson formed. Ollie was a sweet little guy who I couldn’t help falling for. I also enjoyed the background of the horse rescue and how much of her heart Miranda put into helping the horses. The author did a wonderful job keeping the story flowing along and keeping it fun, light hearted and entertaining. If you’re looking for a sweet Christmas story, don’t miss this one.
