Wow! This book really kept me on my toes. There are a lot of twists and turns that I was not expecting and at times was emotionally draining. This book definitely kept my attention and I completed reading it within 24 hrs, I couldn't put it down. The book shows that it isn't always greener on the other side, everyone has their own struggles, even if you can't see them, I think there were a lot of heavy parts that were shared in the last couple of chapters that I wish we would have learned more about and shown how they were eventually resolved. I highly recommend this book, but prepare yourself for the emotional roller coaster!

THE SECRETS WE KEEP By Kate Hewitt, is a story about friendship, hope, and how we can help each other get through the tough times in our lives. I have to be honest and say that when I read the blurb about this book, I thought it had more to do. With a thriller/mystery. I have never read anything by Hewitt before and this story captivated me from the start. Kate’s character was one that we could all admire and be like in our everyday lives. Rebecca’s was the same except she seemed a little needy at first. But who has never been needy even for just a few minutes. I cried while reading this book and did not want it to end. It’s emotionally charged and can teach us the value of a great friendship and how we should not second guess ourselves as parents or friends. I love, love, love this book and hope to read more by this author.

Thank you so much to netgalley as ell as the author/publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book!
This is the first book I have read by Kate Hewitt, and it was a beautifully written story.
This book was about two completely different woman, living very different lives. They develop a strong friendship over a summer and in the end realize that if you take away money and success we are all the same....
I loved this book!

The Secrets We Keep is an absolutely, heart wrenchingly, emotional book. I was drawn into the lives of Tessa and Rebecca immediately as they relay their emotional and parenting struggles. Which mother among us has never questioned our own parenting abilities? Especially if we are dealing with the pain of our own secrets.. Fortunately, the book ends on a note of hope and grace, as the characters experience emotional growth. Be warned, you will shed tears!

Absolutely brilliant, after reading A Mother's Goodbye I didn't think this would be as good but how wrong could I be.

This story draws you in right from the beginning and all the characters are well developed, I felt as though I knew them all personally.

I found this to be an exciting and gripping page turner and I just love the way Kate writes, I can thoroughly recommend this book and the ending was perfectly thought out.

Well done Kate and I eagerly look forward to your next one.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 surprising stars!

I read this book knowing nothing about the author, but something about the description appealed to me.

I think that’s partly why it was a 5 star read for me. I didn’t know what to expect and yet the book hooked me in and I was so engaged with the characters and story.

To describe the book won’t do it justice - a story about 2 mums who don’t know each other but stay for the summer at a lake retreat with their children, and we learn about their individual issues and their developing friendship.

I also liked the ending which yes, is a bit of a downer, but I like that the author wasn’t afraid to do something different and be brave.

I will definitely look at other books by the author.

Thank you to Bookouture and Kate Hewitt for the opportunity to read and review the Secrets we Keep. The book is an intriguing tale of friendship, loyalty and family. What can drive a mother to the brink and when that happens how does it impact her children. Tessa and Rebecca meet one summer and bond over the fact they are both lonely and missing something in their lives. Both acting destructively, can they help each other or is it a recipe for disaster. I loved it

I admit, I’ve never read anything by Kate Hewitt and received The secrets we keep as an ARC. I found this book compelling and hard to put down. The characters were flawed and I toggled between disliking them and becoming connected to them. The story was gritty, real and emotional. The story complex and captivating. Id highly recommend.

MoMo’s Book Diary highly recommends the new release by Kate Hewitt - “The Secrets We Keep” which is a powerful, emotional and captivating book.

This book tells the story of one summer for two families with alternating chapters which I found captivating yet slow and I was continually wishing the book would speed up – until it did and then I wished for it to slow down and last longer.

I think this may be due to the latest books I have been reading have all been shorter and very fast paced where I could read in one day. This one took two days so really not that much different and it was very gripping from half-way by which point I was completely wrapped in the two mothers and how they would deal with their own secrets.

The author has penned a fantastic story. I will definitely be looking out for this author in future and recommending to friends and followers of momobookdiary book blog.

Thanks to Bookouture, Kate Hewitt and Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this prior to publication.

Emotional, suspenseful, truthful...these all describe this gut wrenching story of two very different women and the summer they share. They're both going through difficult times in their lives and they find themselves drawn together as they struggle to cope.

Thankfully I had an entire day to devote to this book, because I couldn't put it down! The suspense built higher and higher feeling almost like a Hitchcock movie. It felt almost like watching a car crash in slow motion. You'll find yourself drawn in just like I did and unable to break free before you turn the very last page.

Add this one to your read list for 2018!!

This book was a little too slow for me. It wasnt’t until the last 1/4 of the book that the true storyline came together.. When it did it had me on the edge of my seat with tears in my eyes. It is a very heart wrenching book to read and incredibly moving.. So glad I was able to review this book but beware of the ending!
