Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

The premise of the book is great and the author really delivers. Great read. Highly recommended. .

I really loved this book in a new to me author. The characters and location really and to the story. I can't wait to read the next one. This book keeps you guessing until the end.

Though the premise of this book was interesting, the execution kind of fell flat for me. I never really grew to care about Dr. Dee or why she was so invested in the truth behind Tom's death. I'm not sure if I would recommend this book; I give it 2.5 stars rounded up.

I tried really hard to like this book, but it just really fell short for me. The characters weren't well defined and the story just didn't get there. Some people may like the story, but it just wasn't for me. I had to force myself to finish reading it.

This was a non-starter, non-mover and on my part a non-finisher. I usually finish most books I start reading. I like to give them a full shot before I claim to review. Unfortunately, this was a no for me.

The Practice Baby is a great, engaging read and I couldn't stop reading it until I reached the very end. This is the first in a new series, and I can't wait to read the next books in the series. GP Dee is a very engaging character and I hope to read a lot more of her in future. Recommended.

I had a hard time with this one. I picked it up several times and could not get through it. I really wanted to know how things worked for Tom and Leah, but when a doctor turned up dead, things got a bit hectic for me. I couldn't continue.

Thank you #netgalley for the advanced copy if this book.

Set in Australia, General Practitioner Dee Flanary risks her career by investigating the death of her life long patient, Tom, who has both Aspergers and is an asthmatic, despite the police and coroner dismissing her concerns of possible murder. She uncovers several tragic supposedly accidental deaths and a link to her own past. The BMA are on the verge of taking away her license to practice labelling her psychotic. After the death of Tom’s naive young girl friend, Leah, she is forced to confront the cold blooded killer.

An interesting thriller with a medical tilt. The premise of the book is great but there a few too many dead ends that draw the reader away from the main focus of her investigation. The killer’s motivation for the needed is a little weak and needed further expansion/development. The final confrontation was rather rushed compared to the rest of the book.

I received this novel via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This was, to put it simply, dull. I didn't find the plot intriguing, I didn't connect with or care about the characters and I couldn't care less about the story. The writing was average but not awful and not great. Just not my cup of tea as a book.

Thrilling story with a plot that kept me turning the pages, really well written with great characters. Highly recommend to everyone who is a fan of this genre.

The potential for this story for this was there but just wasn’t executed very well. The plot never developed enough for me to really enjoy it.

I was so disappointed with this book. The premise of the book was great and had so much potential. Being a parent you have all these fears and worries and this book had the right idea to play to that unfortunately it just missed the mark. I felt the writing was a little disjointed and kept throwing me off. There were plenty of times I had to reread parts because I found my mind wondering. I love this idea just wish it was a little more finished.

This book had a good premise. The author's writing was easy to understand and follow, but I think there could have been a bit more nail-biting moments instead of a lot of dead ends.

Dee has been a GP for years. While she cares for all her patients, the ones that she has had since birth hold a special place in her heart. Tom is one of those place holders. Even now that he is an adult and planning the next phase in his life.

What comes as a shock is Tom's death. A death that Dee believes couldn't have happened without someone's help. She knew Tom right? Of course he wouldn't have had a hand in his own demise.

What follows is Dee trying to unlock Tom's final days in a series of wrong turns and misinformation. While it held my attention, there were times that I was wondering how much longer we would go without some kind of confirmation or real information.

Dee Flanery is a practicing doctor with a practice in Australia. Her practice revolves around a large group of stable patients, many of whom she has seen for years. None of her patients are more personal to her than Tom. A 25 year old asthmatic with Asperger’s. Tom has been a patient of Dee’s since he was 5 days old. He grew up in front of her eyes. Perhaps because of this, Dee has a special affection for Tom, and she feels like she knows him in a way.

When Consistent, reliable Tom fails to make his appointment one day, Dee feels a sense of foreboding immediately. When phone calls to Tom go unanswered and Tom’s mother calls the practice in a frantic state saying she can’t find Tom either, Dee knows feels compelled to act. She calls in a welfare check at Tom’s apartment. Tom’s mother, Dee and Tom’s girlfriend Leah approach the apartment with the police. Their worst fears are soon confirmed when Tom Is found deceased in the apartment. All signs point to an asthmatic episode that got out of control. An autopsy quickly confirms an asthmatic episode triggered by an allergen. Dee knows that Tom was too obsessive about his medications to suffer a deadly asthmatic episode and despite what the police say, she feels she owes it to Tom to investigate his death. Dee enlists the help of Raj, Tom’s former boss, and a good friend, and together they launch a private investigation into anyone who could have a motive to get rid of Tom. Secrets;however, like to stay buried and the more Dee and Raj dig, the crazier Dee starts to look. Soon, Dee finds herself in a precarious position with her sanity being challenged and her stability as a physician called into question.
In order to save face and find justice for Tom, Dee must find Tom’s murderer and ensure that he sees justice. The story was interesting enough to keep my attention. I did find the villain of the tale a little hollow. His motivations and character development are lacking a little for me. Dee is an intriguing heroine being that she is middle aged and not involved regularly in detective work or sleuthing in any way. The story does read as the ultimate life nightmare as Dee’s life slowly unravels as she follows the path of breadcrumbs that will lead to unmasking a killer.

Read and reviewed thanks to a free copy from NetGalley. I enjoyed this book, despite the slowness of the middle, yet I've come away feeling unsatisfied. The plot was interesting and Dee, Leah, Raj and Dee's kids (especially Eleanor) were very likeable, and I was rooting for Dee throughout, but I found the final showdown rushed and difficult to follow, and felt there was no real explanation for any of the events, which I feel let down what had been a good read. Furthermore, the final twist with Leah made no sense in relation to the other events.
