As a text book this works as a book anyone would pick up and read I find it a little difficult at times. The author is well informed and gives the pros and cons to this form of medication. They do not tell you to use it without making sure you as a consumer are well informed. The author talks about legal allegations, the political side effect and you can tell by the passion they want this to become more main stream with the guidance of professionals.

Did she convince me? I am still on the fence due to lack of evidence on long term use on teens though adulthood with mental disorders.

The review will becomes more personal and opinionated from this point on. (Just a Warning)

I have seen the effect of Medical Marijuana though friends who couldn't find relief from though chemical medication. I have seen others who have gone though the process of getting their card and found it was more expensive than conventional medication and found no relief and worse side effects then chemical mediation.

I think everyone has the right to make the decision of their mental and physical health with the proper guide of medical professionals. I think there are benefits to the use of Medically guided Marijuana when it is handled professionally and not handed out like gummy bears. (Which has helped a friend of mine out with her ADHD and mood swings.)

I do see Marijuana as a gateway drug if not taken though the guidance of a medical professional that is able to help those needing relief from pain, anxiety, Adhd and more.

Have I looked into using Medical Marijuana for my Anxiety and ADHD? Yes but the cost is more than all of my chemical medications and drs visit put together.

This was wonderful information and insight into a very misunderstood medical Marijuana.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Rowman & Littlefield Publishers for a chance to review Patricia C Frye, MD, Dave Smitherman The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health

This was a great book to get to the understanding of why marijuana has been vilified and how it plays on the system. Patricia gives the reader an understanding of how marijuana can be used as a key part of the healthy care plan. I also didn't know she was going to provide recipes!

This was the best book on Medical Marijuana I have read. Very informative. A must read for anyone with chronic pain or illness that prescription medication has not been able to help. Patricia Frye MD gives very specific information on treating chronic pain with cannabis.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health Health, Mind & Body

I’ve been wanting to get some practical information on the use of cannabis for use in health problems, as I have more than a handful I’m interested in finding out if it might be helpful with. So I’ve downloaded this and another ebook on the subject to see what I can learn about it. This is a very helpful guide for anyone wanting more information on medical uses of marijuana, a basic place to start. In 1996 CA became the first state to legalize cannabis for medical use, and Dr. Frye in 2015 was looking for some part-time telemedicine work. She was offered work evaluating patients via telemedicine for medical marijuana evaluations. She was floored as she didn’t know anything about marijuana other than having tried it a few times back in high school and twice as a freshman in college. It made her either goofy, sleepy or paranoid so she never thought much of it. She certainly never understood why her peers liked it so much. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity, she set out to learn about the plant. This guide she came up with is a good starting point for anyone not familiar with the plant, such as non-smokers like myself who are looking at it for pain use and use for help with sleeping.: from Medicine to Intoxicant and Back Again

The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health is written by a medical doctor, Dr. Frye, who has first hand experience with the role that cannabis plays in medical treatment. This air of legitimacy firmly grounds the book in facts, rather than creating a political agenda. The political limitations are discussed though, as the research that could be done is stalled by the government. That said, the book focuses on the medical value of cannabis, and it is this information that makes this book so valuable.

I learned quite a bit and am grateful to Dr. Frye for sharing her experience and wisdom. It is hard to find trustworthy medical information in this climate of misinformation. This book is the real deal. Dr. Frye knows that of which she speaks, and we have much to learn from her.

A practical and informed guide by a medical professional about the history, benefits, and politics of medical marijuana. Includes guidelines and legality for each US state and territory, different types of marijuana, and considerations for various illnesses.

I found this to be a very informative book. Much more so than what I have researched on the internet. The author gives pros, cons, and things I have that would make me rethink whether this is the way to go. A God given plant compared to a chemical that is man made? Easy choice, I think.

Having Rheumatoid Arthritis, a total knee replacement, a total shoulder replacement, anxiety, and depression... I really would like to see if it would help me. Florida drug laws have changed so much since July 1, 2018, it's horrible. They send you home from a knee replacement with 7 days of pain meds. It hurts the people who honestly need the pain meds and that isn't right.

My primary care doctor says I would qualify but I'm still in the process of making my decision. Lots of my questions were answered in this book and it's one that I highly recommend if you are in the same situation as I am.

* I was provided an ARC to read from the publisher and NetGalley. It was my decision to read and review this book..
