A well crafted and well paced read, however it was not one I was able to connect with fully. Am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to read and review this story.

This was a heart-breaking story, but it was beautiful to read. The story flowed smoothly, and I was really able to connect with Allie. The author made her pain and her struggle very real, but hard to read at times (not because it was bad, but because it was painful). Allie and Sam's relationship is incredibly sweet and authentic. It grew really organically. The story and the dialogue was so realistic and beautiful, which is a hard line to walk. The sense of loss and confusion and the inner turmoil happening was so tangible. Such a beautiful book with wonderful characters.

Really important and beautiful read! I don't usually read a lot of Historical YA but I'm glad I made an exception with this one. The writing is truly beautifully written and I love how poetic it all is.

This book is one that I'm kind of in the middle when it comes to my feelings about it. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either, hence the three-star rating. It just didn't keep my attention enough to really love it. I did enjoy the plot though, it could have been a little better.

*I never got around to reading and reviewing this book. I may do so in the future*
