I liked this book a lot! It was a super fun play on the movie Pretty Woman and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of the writing was a bit stilted, and some of the descriptions seemed a bit clinical. However, the story itself was really great and I would definitely read more from this author.

This is an amusing male on male take on "Pretty Woman", set in New York rather than Los Angeles. Wealthy businessman Roland pays male escort Josh to stand in as his boyfriend for a week of charity functions that he sponsors. Of course their relationship becomes more than trick/client as the week progresses. There is an age difference that only seems to be noticed by Roland. The pair have a great week as Josh shows Roland some New York sights he was not aware of, even though he has lived there for many years. A visit to a sex shop is balanced against a night out at the opera. A downer is Roland's bitchy ex-boyfriend; maybe too much of a stereotype.

There's plenty of explicit male/male sex, which shouldn't come as a surprise. Josh has some strong views about tops and bottoms, and gay relationships.

There's some over-the-top commentary and events, but all in all it's a fun read. Recommended for light entertainment.

Pretty Man, by Ryan Field is a fun story that focuses mostly on sex, and less on the relationship. It's a good erotica story, with some fun humor.

Personally, I found Josh's "gift" to Roland to come out of nowhere, and I was a little confused. But, after that, the kink continues. And if you like kink, you'll enjoy this book.

This is a very sexy M/M version of "Pretty Woman." Roland finally figures out what his life has been missing when he meets Josh - especially the "fun" in life. I would have liked to see more about their relationship, as it is difficult to see them emotionally engaged. It sounded like they might have some common interests, but then the whole story seemed to be about sex.

There are some inconsistencies and quite a few proofreading errors throughout.

I love any book written by this author. He makes it all happen with humor and some very sexy scenes. I loved both characters equally. I’m a sucker for hot rich guy and the other character being in need on some kind of rescue.

Do not pick up this goofy little erotica novella unless you want to snicker and snort the whole way through. Hopefully I'm not completely misunderstanding this author's sense of humor (and he is new to me), but this one's cheeky as hell.

Intended as a spoof of Pretty Woman once I reminded myself not to take it too seriously I actually enjoyed most of it. Lost count of all the little things that had me rolling my eyes as if, but in the end that was okay and it all works.

While I definitely could have done without the description of Josh's underarms smelling like "raw onions and stale, yeasty beer" (yes, that's a direct quote and yes, it's supposed to be a good thing), the sex scenes were pretty hot and worked for this couple.

Ryan Field does a good job with the characters. Roland, a 45 year old multi-millionaire who's been living without it for way too long, and Josh a horny as hell $200/hour male escort with amazing stamina and a heart of gold, work well together.

The supremely campy dirty talk kept me laughing, and I can honestly say I'll read another book by Ryan Field when I need a smile... assuming (again) I'm not wrongly interpreting this one!

This story is too short. The characters are wonderful, and the plot is fairy tale, but really it need to have been longer. As you can tell from the cover, it is sort of a take on Pretty Woman. Roland is slightly older and rich and he hires Josh to be his escort for a week.

Somewhat unimaginative gay retelling of Pretty Woman. Very simplistic but that doesn't work against it as an enjoyable Saturday night read with a glass of wine and any- er- 'self-help appliances. Recommended.

Rough sex and lots of it. I prefer a little more story than was provided. A man asks a man he has never met to provide cover when he meets his ex and new boy toy. The y proceed to have a series of sexual episodes, including group sex and a crazy scene involving food that I thought was too much. It certainly wasn’t what I was expecting.

Although a promising and interesting premise to adapt the movie to two gay characters, I wanted more originality and more chemistry between Roland and Josh.

I have never read an LGBT book before, so this was my first. It was a little bit on the graphic side, if you like that kind of thing.
The characters in this book are well developed and there is plenty of plot, unlike the 50 shades books which simply was porn. We begin with Roland Marcus returning to New York after being away for sometime and who does he see while walking along, but his ex-lover, Kenneth Rhodes.. Roland ducks into a used bookstore and literally bumps into Josh and we begin this book's version of Pretty Woman. We are taken on a journey of a well off man who is trying to make is ex-lover jealous and ends up falling in love. We are taken on fantastic adventures to high society events and getting all dolled up to go out. I was so excited to see all of the fun events they go to. This was such a great book!

This LGBT take on the classic movie Pretty Woman is very cute. When a 40-something man runs into his ex, he has to find a younger man to make the ex jealous. Then, they have to keep up the charade at a series of charity events (and of course, the younger man is getting paid for his time). The relationship between the two men was adorable and it felt like you really knew the older man well. The younger character was harder to understand and get inside, but overall, I very much enjoyed this read.

I really wanted to love this book. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. While I thought the premise and plot setup was creatve and interesting, the characters were just not likable. They seemed very superficial. Also while there was definite sexual chemistry- there did not seem to be a connection on any other level. The sex scenes were steamy- but lacked an element of feeling to even the basest level. The writing style was odd, as were many of the descriptions. Describing someone's pecs as halved grapefruits is not a visual I find sexy and most followed in this vein. It is not a recommended read for me.

I have to admit that I found the book entertaining but also a bit disappointing because of the gay stereotypes. Of course, on compares the book to the original movie. It*s a quick read and some might like it much better than I did.

Ok...Full disclosure...I am obviously not this book's target audience. I am a hetero female who loves to read romance novels and erotic novels. I have read many romance and erotic novels in the LGBTQ category and have enjoyed lots of them. I understand the differences between m/m romances that are written for female fans of the genre and those that are written specifically for men...and I can enjoy them both. This is clearly a book written for the gay male but I still found some aspects of the story to be quite enjoyable. I liked the main characters Roland and Josh but I wanted more depth to the characters.

For me the story could have been vastly improved if written in first person, dual POV with even the smallest insight into the emotions of these two characters but I understand that my perspective is likely to be different from the that of the target audience. (I also could have done without the orgy but enjoyed the sex shop scene.) I just expected a bit more romance from a book that was billed as a Pretty Woman parody but I found I had read more than 80% of the book before I had clue that either character was actually feeling any kind of connection other than sexual.

Would I recommend this book to other female fans of m/m romance and erotica? Probably not, but I would probably read another book from Ryan Field to see if I found it any more enjoyable.

First, I must offer the disclaimer that this novel does not fall within my usual genre. Anyone planning to read it should READ the synopsis (or preview) CAREFULLY, because it delivers what was expected, but in more detail than what was advertised. That being said, this book is a decently written love story. Admittedly, it loosely follows the outline of Pretty Woman--which the author makes no bones about.
I was expecting more of an emotional connection to be demostrated, but I guess the author clearly portrayed the way the two main characters feel about each other through their actions. The characters felt authentic enough--their situations seemed real enough. (I can't really claim to know anything about true -to-life situations similar to these.) I did appreciate reading from perspective(s) completely different from my own. This was a decent book--probably one that has been long awaited by many. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
