I love this series! The Cowboy’s Last Rodeo is part of the Copper Mountain Rodeo series. It is a sweet story that is perfect if you love cowboys and romance. Shane and Ella are very different people who find their lives connecting. I enjoyed these characters and their personal development. I have read several books by Jeannie Watt and enjoyed all of them.

Ella sets out too make a name away from her family and finding herself, so she sets off on an adventure. Shane has one more season to prove himself because he has too retire. So he's out healing his body and his heart. Can Ella and Shane have one more bang of an adventure?

For most of this book I felt like this should have been the first book in the series, it seems to really lead up to the 79th Rodeo so unlike the other books in the series it did not coincide with the rodeo. However towards the end of the book it does mention big points from the other books in the first part of this series, so be for warned and it does also catch up with the Copper Mountain rodeo.
I really also enjoyed how Ella was this strong independent person yet still trying to find herself. I also like how this wasn't necessarily one person chasing the other but both chasing a dream and trying to find out what they wanted to do when they "grow up". I however felt like some parts of the book did dragged and the book did start off a little slow. The book does have adult language and situations but overall as I have read every book so far in this series I would recommend this book as it seems to tie things together and makes the other books make more sense.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

Excellent read! Bronc rider Shane Marvel knows this is the end of his rodeo career but he's determined to win as much as he can this year to fund his future. Even if that means riding hurt. Ella is a graduate student working on yet another degree. Before she can move forward though she needs to complete some research and collect data for a grant to fund her work. She's researching why people have risky behaviors so what better place to collect data than a rodeo and what better specimen than injured bronc rider Shane Marvel. Now can she keep her research strictly professional?

Definitely a book I recommend.

Ella Etxeberri has always been considered the safe one of her family, where her siblings have always been risk takers. When she is passed up for a research promotion because she doesn’t take risks, she decides to travel the rodeo circuit talking to bull riders about the risks they take for their profession.

Ella finds herself talking to Shane Marvell, even though he’s a bronc rider, not a bull rider. This is Shane’s last season on the rodeo circuit and he wants to go out on top to prove his success despite what his ex-girlfriend said about him. He still hasn’t gotten past the words she said to him. Ella felt she wasn’t really living until she met Shane. Ella and Shane soon find themselves taking a chance on love.

I enjoyed the rodeo excitement in this story along with the romance between the characters. The book was written in a way that made me feel like I was right there.

We've been reading a lot about the Marvells, mostly in the Cherry Lake area. But they are cousins to the Marvells in the Paradise Valley area. Now we get to read about the Paradise Valley Marvells. First up is the baby of the family, Shane. As a bronc rider, his body is breaking down but he has nothing to show for his rodeo days. Shane's done, too banged up, no prospects after it's over, and he's working hard to make this final season his best to get a head start on a new, as-yet undefined career. What he's not planning to do: get distracted, fall in love, have to deal with complex emotions. But that's just what happens, despite his desire for laser focus on these last rodeos.

Ella Etxeberri (Etch-uh-berry) is the non-risk taker of her family. But losing a position she really wanted because she hasn't gone out and done things makes her re-evaluate her life. Now, Ella wants to understand what makes a risk taker tick. So she sets out to study bull riders, and meets Shane at the rodeo.

It's not a match made in heaven though they both click. Shane's feeling pretty useless since he was dumped and going nowhere with no prospects. Ella's feeling pretty useless too, with all her book knowledge and little practical experience. But though they both fight the attraction, it's a losing battle.

This is a fairly low-drama story. Most of the issues are internal to the characters with few outside forces working against them. Shane's family is featured more strongly than the Etxeberris, though I can see a series focused on them at some point. Overall, I liked both Shane and Ella and how they worked to overcome their own demons. I also liked the strong family networks.

We have a fairly drama free story. We have Shane whose body has gone thru a lot in his position as rodeo rider and Ella trying to be a little different than she normally is. This is new for them, book was ok but I like a livelier story.

Another really good book in this series. Two people uncertain of what they can offer another person, fall in love regardless. A very sweet story.

In this story we have Shane Marvell bronc rider who is in his last season of Rodeo before he retires. He has something to prove to himself, he needs to finish successfully. He is recovering from a break up, when he proposed to his ex she told him “he didn’t have a future”.
Ella Etzberry is interviewing bull riders about “risk” and why they take the risk bull riding. Ella is feeling like she is not living life, rather she is just watching it.
Will Shane realize that he can have a future without a grand rodeo finish?
Will Ella take a risk on love and life?
Will they take a risk on each other and love?
Read on and find out.....

The Cowboy's Last Rodeo by Jeannie Watt, book four in The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo series. A great addition to the series. Jeannie Watt knows how to write a great story. I enjoyed the characters, storyline and dialogue. Looking forward to reading book five in the series.

I am reviewing this book that I received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading about Ella and Shane’s story. I feel that the author took time to focus on the characters and she let us see a fun side of Ella and Shane working on the ranch and stealing moments together when they could!

I was reading it in order of the he series but it is perfectly fine to read it as a stand alone. There were minor hints about the book before (Cowboy Come Home) written within this book.
I am an avid reader of the Marietta Montana series and I have found that I really enjoy reading other books by the same authors.

Ella is hitting the rodeo circuit talking with bull riders about the need to compete. Meeting with Shane, a bronc rider, she and he have sparks and act on them. Enjoyed this one, as I have many of the ones from Marietta, Montana. Fun read and great characters. Highly recommend.

Ella’s siblings have always been risk takers, but her family has always considered her to be the stable and reliable one. When she is passed over for a research position because she isn’t considered to be enough of a risk taker, she decides to take a semester off from school and travel the rodeo circuit while she does research into those who take risks. Ella meets Shane during her interview with a bull rider. While Shane isn’t a bull rider, she does eventually agree to interview him in order to get to know him better. Initially, neither is really interested in a relationship. Shane is still smarting after having been dumped by his girlfriend of two years, and Ella has always been focused on preparing for a career. Despite a number of obstacles, they eventually do get together. This story was a nice addition to the Copper Mountain Rodeo series.

This series is the best! I can't get enough! I loved this story the characters are warm and likeable. You could feel the honesty in coming to terms with the end of your career and feeling that you weren't where you wanted to be financially. This is a clean COWBOY romance.

In the series this one my least favorite, however it was still good. I loved the crossovers from the other characters from the previous stories.

There’s a lot to love about The Cowboy's Last Rodeo. A rodeo cowboy, a woman on a mission and the undeniable attraction that is impossible to resist. This was an easy read, with real characters, a good storyline and a great addition to this multi author series.

Three and a half stars.

Shane Marvell is in his final year as a bronc rider, but he's facing a crossroads. He needs to win big in order to fund some kind of training for a future career, otherwise he's going to return to the family farm and share a bathroom with his adult siblings with nothing to contribute and nothing to show for a career in rodeo. His brutal rejection by his former girlfriend who said he wasn't husband material has also contributed to his feelings of being unworthy.

Ella Etxeberri is the only risk-averse member of her family of rock-climbers, fire-fighters and former bull-riders. An academic, she has just been overlooked for a role for which she is ideally suited and has run away to lick her wounds and pursue a potential masters thesis on the psychology of bull-riders and risk. She's interviewing cowboys at the rodeo when she sees Shane and there are instant sparks.

This is definitely an opposites attract romance. Shane didn't finish school and has nothing to show for his career, unless he wins this final year, Ella is an academic working towards her masters degree. She's risk-averse, he takes risks for a living. They are both trying to change their behaviour patterns but is love in the picture?

I liked this novel, there was more rodeo than some of the other books, more riding, more farming, more cowboys which I appreciated.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book and the romance that developed between Shane and Ella. They seemed at times to be opposites but we saw how well they got along and saw them fall in love. Shane has decided this will be his last rodeo season and Ella has taken a break from her college studies to do research on sports figures and risk takers. Shane is participating with a bum leg and shoulder and each rodeo is touch and go. Ella is following him to different rodeos and interviewing various riders. Her family knows she is always the one not taking risks, going to years of school, etc. I enjoyed the interactions with Ella and her family, with Shane and his family, with her friends Avery and Jenna and with the other rodeo participants. I have read most of the books in the series as well as other books by Ms. Watt and have loved them all. I give this book 5 stars as well.

I have been loving this series and really appreciate that Watt chose to focus on a cowboy who is planning to retire after this rodeo season. She does such a great job illustrating the wear and tear on his body coupled with his toughness and determination to make it through to the end and earn the bonus that would help him plan his future. Shane's romance with Ella, the woman who is trying to spend a summer being less cautious while conducting research towards her masters' thesis is an unplanned development on both their parts. Honestly I found their story lacking any real tension and kind of bland. I was more interested in the things happening around them.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jeannie Watt's vision in this book is incredible and moving. Wow, just wow! Two people who are at crossroads in their lives - Shane who knows this is his last Rodeo Season because his body is wearing out and Elle who has always be cautious of everything in her life. When these two come together for an interview - they don't expect what happens next.
Shane has been burned before but will Elle's true feelings and outlook on life surprise him?
This book made me gasp, felt like crying such a beautiful story.
