I'm looking forward to reading the next part of this book. It reminded me a little of North by Northwest, the Hitchcock movie. A very good romantic thriller!

I write this review with mixed feelings about Red Ledger and it’s overall appeal. First let me start by addressing the things that irk me about this book:
1) Isabel now 24, has never recovered from a teenage love that Tristan ended, 6 months after leaving for the military, yet she’s happy to have awesome, meaningless sex;
2) Tristan now 24 and missing crucial parts of his memory was mysteriously enlisted as a gun for hire at the tender age of 21….really?;
3) Tristan just happens to be the hit man hired to murder Isabel;
4) The first person monologue throughout is grating and stilted;
5) I detest serial stories about the same couple, which evolve into multiple full-length books.
But I suppose if I’m blatantly honest, what really irks me the most, and is the reason I will keep reading this serial story, is I’m compelled as a reader to discover the answers to the mysteries within:
1) What happened to Tristan in Afghanistan?
2) How did Tristan end up as a gun for hire?
3) What did Tristan do that has Mateus in his debt?
4) Who is Jay?
5) Why was Isabel targeted?
So basically, this is a story that will either appeal, or it won’t. There are many things I struggle with, but there is also so much that I need to know. All I can say is that patience will be required as we wait for each new instalment.

Omg I need more. This book was incredible! I know it was a novella length but oh I so needed more. Love loved it.
Thanks for the Arc Netgalley!
