A captivating story of Alice Roosevelt's long life from childhood to her nineties. A phenomenal political figure who influenced many.

Unfortunately this book missed the mark for me. I was very excited to start after reading the synopsis of the novel. As I started reading it took some time to get used to the floor of the book. It was a bit slow but after getting to know the characters a little more and the story I was able to get into the novel.... about midway though I just wasn't as interested in the book and hard to keep up. This was a DNF for me.

How wonderful! I've been intrigued by Alice Roosevelt for the past couple of years and was so happy to discover that she was being given her own novel! Stephanie Marie Thornton does a remarkable job taking on Alice's voice and letting it change throughout Alice's life. Alice starts as a spoiled, bratty, precocious, and endearing teenager only to mature into a fiery, passionate, wise, and resilient woman. Not only does Thornton tackle young Alice's fire as she dares to flip off the press every chance she gets, but she embraces Alice's older spirit with grace.

In tribute to a woman who lived an extraordinary life, American Princess is an extraordinary novel that lets us take a peek into one of history's most fascinating and under appreciated women!

This is a thoroughly researched novel of one of Theodore Roosevelt’s daughter, Alice Roosevelt Longworth. Family ties, love, scandals and politics are well portrayed throughout her long and colorful life.. #AmericanPrincess #NetGalley

I didn't get past the first chapter thanks to the vulgarity, negativity, etc. Not a good start to what could've been an interesting story.

A thoroughly researched and well written story of a life well lived. Alice Roosevelt was a larger than life character and the author makes her and the times in which she lived come to life in these pages.
