I received How The Earl Entices written by Anna Harrington from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is the forth book in her Capturing the Carlisles, but the first time I have ever read any of her books. It will not be the last.
Ross Carlisle is on the run for his life. Condemned for treason, he only hope to prove his innocence, is to steal it. While on the run, he breaks into Grace Alden's cottage for shelter. Hurt, hungry, and tired, he collapse and Grace bandages him up. Grace, on the run herself, knows who he is- if she doesn't know what he has been accused of- and needs his help to reclaim her son's place in the world. Striking a bargain, they head to London together, only to develop feeling for one another along the way. But Ross is captured, and Grace just might loose everything.
This book was wonderful! The banter and wit was spot on. The secondary characters were in the story just enough to wet your appetite for their own story. And, the chemistry was off the charts. I love Grace and her strength. Ross was just the perfect blend of arrogance and understanding. He knew he was strong enough to desire a strong woman without the need to tame her. The slow burn and steam factor worked well. I only had one issue: Grace's unwillingness to fully disclose everything to Ross. I felt that was dragged out too long and Ross let her off too easily. But a keeper and reread for me. #HowtheEarlEntices #NetGalley

This is an honest and fair review, as promised, in return for this ARC. My what great stories Anna Harrington writes. She is a weaver of magic. Not only is this a wonderful romance but it is also such an intriguing mystery and adventure. There are so many aspects to this tale. Loved it.

Grace is living in a very small seaside town with her young son. One night there is a terrible storm and she has taken her son to a neighbor's house so he would be safe. While she is trying to sleep, there is a noise. Not from the storm, but a knock. When the door opens an injured man breaks into her house with a gun and tells her he needs to rest a night and then he will leave. Grace sees his face and he looks familiar. The name he gives her is not the name she knows him by. Grace is also not who she seems. Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding has escaped from France with some documents that brands him a traitor to the Crown, unless he can get certain documents to the right people. Grace makes a deal with Ross that she will help him if he will help her get her son's inheritance . She will not tell Ross who she is. As far as everyone is concerned, she is dead and will be if her brother in law finds out she is still alive. When Ross is arrested, can Grace get the documents to set him free of will be hang ? Great book, full of mystery and intrigue. I loved and cared about Ross and Grace. They were wonderful characters. I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.

Lies and secrets kept me turning the pages of this book. I had to see what was the truth. There were quite a few to figure out between Ross and Grace. What is their real names was just one of them.
I really enjoyed, How the Earl Entices, and will be suggesting it to my friends.
