Forbidden Son is a great book. I enjoyed the plot, believable characters and the author's writing. I recommend this book to romance fans. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my digital ARC. This is an unbiased review.

A tale of forbidden love set in the Sixties and Eighties in South Carolina between a man from a rich powerful family and a woman labeled as “white trash”, “The Forbidden Son” is an enjoyable read showing all the potential of the American Dream.
We watch the heroine, HJ, climbing the social ladder by means of her work and merit and have her HEA after almost two decades.
I loved the hero, Tripp, the earnest blue-eyed Law student who so quickly finds HJ is the one and decides to marry her. The wounded war hero and senator he becomes later are dimensions less explored but they all contribute to create a fine character.
I would have liked to have seen more of the couple together, particularly when they are mature, to have seen more interaction and chemistry between them. I was also expecting a bit more conflict or trouble when the father/son meeting occurs.

It's a good story, well written.
Rich boy/poor girl, forbidden romance.
Interfering parents.
