This funny, romantic and very moving YA novel captivates with the story of heart-transplant recipient Marlowe. Wacky characters and the hope of second chances make this a winner full of heart. 5/5

Pub Date 12 Mar 2019.

Thanks to the author, Flatiron Books and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are mine.

This story follows Marlowe, a teenaged girl with a life-threatening heart condition who one day, receives a new heart. All she knows of her donor is: "Sixteen. Car accident." Marlowe thinks the only way of moving on is to thank her donor's family. Marlowe writes to them, in hopes of a response but receives nothing. Through Facebook, she finds a support group for donors and recipients and finds a lead to her mystery donor.

With characters such as a "vegan warrior" mom, a creative, Project Runway-loving brother, and a hot butcher apprentice-next-door, you'll want to keep reading.

I found Marlowe to be a very relatable character from her anger of having no say in her life, to her sadness from someone dying in order for her to continue to live.

If you enjoy a look at grief, an enemies-to-lovers type romance, you've found the right book to read. I highly recommend this book for all the reasons above. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down.

While I enjoy YA, this isn't my typical wheelhouse. Plozza creates a fascinating world of wacky and quirky characters in Tin Heart. At the center is the story of a heart transplant and what the implications of that can be in an individual's life. It's definitely worth checking out!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review.

This was a surprisingly funny book and it had a depth to it that kept me turning each page, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Their was a touch of romance in it that made it fun, the characters while some are quirky are believable and easy to love

I love this but being a sampler meant this left me hanging and need more of this! I just a hard time reading this due to the formatting on kindle.

Now the only thing I have in my mind is how do I get an ARC of both Enchanteé and Tin Heart. I need them both in my life.

I received an eARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review after reading.

Now, I took my time with this sampler; here's my take, the first book Enchantee is intriguing but I found the pace slow. Reading it felt as though the author wants the reader to get into the mind of the characters before noticing their actions and though that's great, it just did not appeal to me.
Tin Heart on the other hand, I'd love to read! A girl who receives a heart transplant reflecting on life pre-and-post the transplant? I'd love to read that because I get the story straight from her.

Enchantee is simply wonderful. I was hooked from the get-go. I love Camille as a character, and found the way that her life was sketched to be beautifully simple and realistic. I adored the fairy-tale elements mixed with one of the most fascinating historical periods. I've put this one on pre-order on the strength of this extract.

Tin Heart is not my cup of tea at all, but for fans of contemporary YA with quirky characters, it looks like an excellent read.

As a side note, the formatting of this is shockingly bad. Words run together without spaces in a lot of places, which is hard to decipher!

Hard to tell about the books as the formatting of what I read was so wonky but I was still quite interested in what I read of Tin Heart--YA books about heart donors/recipients are always something I like reading. Enchantee was not too my tastes-- historical fiction and fantasy mixes are really hard to pull off and I found it too clunky for me.

This sampler pack gives an early look into the books Enchantee and Tin Heart.

Enchantee is set in Paris during 1789 during the court of Marie Antoinette. You have a mix of historical fiction and magic. This had some interesting moments, but I am not sure if this is one that I would want to read the whole book. I had trouble staying interested.

TIn Heart was an interesting read about a girl who received a heart transplant and is desperate to make contact with the family of the donor. This one held my interest more as I was curious to see Marlowe adapt to her life after receiving her transplant. I also liked seeing Marlowe's brother who has a quirky personality. This is one that I will want to read in full when it's released.

"Enchantée" seems to be a really intriguing read that combines some of my favourite elements into a story woven together with charm and elegance. I'm looking forward to reading more of it!

Unfortunately, even though the premise and the messages it conveys are valuable, "Tin Heart" didn't truly captivate me, but I'm open to giving it another chance in the future.

I liked the sample of Enchantée and am probably going to buy myself a copy when it comes out. Tin Heart didn't really suit my tastes.
