When it comes to love, his grandmother’s legacy hasn’t worked for Quinlan McKenna Farrell as it has for his siblings and cousins. Working as an ICE agent shows him the darker side of human nature. He’s haunted by his failure to bring down a human trafficking ring in Texas. Then he meets Luz Delgado, sold to Quin as a virgin. He soon learns she’s an American in desperate straits, needing to be free of the ring and to save her brother. As she gets to know Quin, she realizes he can not only read people but communicate with animals that give him their trust—both abilities inherited from his grandmother. Quin tries to protect Luz, but she’s determined to help him bring down the human trafficking operation. And when she goes missing, a panicked Quin realizes Luz is his grandmother’s love legacy for him.
This was a pretty good book. I’ve read a number of this author’s paranormal books and loved each of them. I was glad that her (primarily) contemporary didn’t disappoint as has happened with other authors. I really liked Quin and Luz as Quin works to unravel everything. I highly recommend.

Lots of thrills and excitement pepper this McKenna Legacy romance as the Quin and Luz try to bring down a human trafficking operation. Quin and Luz are sturdy, captivating characters that draw readers into their story as this couple discover love during a rescue / take down mission. Quin is an ICE agent that doesn’t always follow the rules and Luz steps outside of her comfort zone in order to find her half-brother and the romance between these two might full of sizzling chemistry but their relationship is in no way a given as Quin is under the impression that he has missed his happily ever opportunity and doesn’t and it takes a while for his head to catch up with his heart. Both characters are stubborn and determined which has sparks flying in every direction throughout the thrilling and adrenaline pumping suspense as they search out bad guys, escape from the bad guys, and confront the bad guys all while dealing with a few surprises along the way. This keeps readers hanging on to the edge of their seat while reading this fast paced and smooth flowing McKenna Legacy romance.

A terrific romantic suspense with a great plot and well developed characters. This one kept me glued to the words. The author is new to me and I throughly enjoyed her writing. I highly recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital arc. This is my unbiased review.

Book 9 in the McKenna Legacy series.
One thing that I am loving about the reprinting of this action packed, romantic suspense series is stumbling across a book that I hadn't read before.
Qunlan McKenna Farrell believes in the legacy of love of the McKenna's, however, he's also seen the darker side of humanity and is haunted by what he knows and determined to bring down a ruthless trafficking ring.
That's where Luz Delgado comes in.
She's in desperate need of help, a virgin that's just been sold to Quin.
The two will have to work together to bring down the ring and unmask the leader before he learns that Quin is there to bring him down.
A delightful read in the McKenna Legacy series that can completely be read on its own.

3.5
I had no idea that this was the last book of a nine book series when I requested it. No worries as it made sense as a stand alone. It is a bit silly at times as to how things always “worked out” (timing, people, places) for the cast of characters but when the “villain” is revealed it becomes a bit more sensible.

Both Luz and Quin are good characters and their story was interesting. The paranormal aspect (mind reading, ability to “speak” to animals, prediction of date to find true love) was a bit odd and felt a bit lighthearted when dealing with such a serious topic (human trafficking) but somehow it did work! I’m curious how the other sibling stories play out in a lighter setting and may go back in time...

Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Dangerous Love Publishing for a copy in exchange for a review.

While I have not read any of the previous books in this series, I could follow along and read this book as a stand alone. The McKenna family sounds interesting and I would love to read more books in this series.

While there were lots of instances of human trafficking and forced labor, it was not graphic. Luz was searching for her missing half-brother and Quin was an undercover ICE agent that had been held captive for about a month.

I liked watching them try to find Diego and save him and bring down El Jefe. There is lots of action and drama. While I suspected who the informant was, I was totally surprised by the big twist in the story!!

When Quin kept hating that he met Bianca on his birthday, I kept wanting him to count the days from his birthday and open his eyes!! I enjoy paranormal books so I loved that he could communicate with animals and used them both times that he and Luz had to flee.

I loved their HEA!

This is a wonderful action packed story about two people both wanting the same thing and been willing to work together to get it.

Luz Delgado is trying to rescue her brother and his girlfriend from human traffickers only problem she is taken herself and now she will be sold as a virgin. Quinlan McKenna Farrell is an ICE agent he has taken extended lave as he just needs to bring El Jefe a human trafficker on the Texas?Mexico border down he has hurt to many people and the weight of failure is driving Quinn mad. He has worked his way into the gang and is posing as a buyer but is shocked when he is offered a American virgin. Will these two be able to work together to not only save her brother but others as well, and will Quins grandmothers legacy of love finally come to him. You need to read to see

My first impression was that the title made the book sound a bit dodgy, but I'd read other books by the author, so I gave it a read. This part of the series is seriously action packed. Lots of stuff going on, to the point it's a little too over the top, but hey, it's a book, it's good for some escapism. Some of what happens is on the heavy side, but the writing style means it's still a relatively easy read. And, as with the other parts of this series, you can definitely read this as a standalone, or out of sequence.

The story of two people who want the same thing in the end. Luz wants her brother and his girl friend back as soon as possible. Quin wants the whole kidnapping of people along the border with Mexico to stop. Can they work together to accomplish their goals? Luz is out looking for her brother and kidnapped herself. She finds herself in a whorehouse as the newest virgin to get the high price for after the doctor has confirmed she really is a virgin. Quin happens to be the customer and thinks he will get an under aged virgin, not Luz. She asks for his help and from there they escape together. He has taken time off from ICE to try to catch the El Jefe. He has the ability to communicate with animals among other things. Can they work together? Time to read this fast pace book and see what they can accomplish.
