To Love by Laura Scott is a good fit for readers looking for an uplifting story about finding love and healing while overcoming challenges in a small-town setting.

Excellent story! The start of a new series and a new, to me, author, makes my day.

This story is all too real in today's society. The heroine was very strong and able to walk away from a toxic relationship without looking back. She and her twin had a plan and we're well on the road to accomplishing everything. Enter the hero not envisioning his life as anything more than that of a drifter. It was a really sweet book that also kept you on your toes waiting for the other shoe to drop. And then.....HEA.

This book was gifted to me by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This was my first Laura Scott book and I was decently surprised. After a recent breakup Jazz McNally wants to start fresh and away from home. So she moves back to her grandparents home and begins to fix it up to open up an B and B with her sister. With a timeline getting closer she needs help to finish.

Dalton O’Brien is a drifter and looking for work. So when Jazz offers him the job he takes it. But when things start to happen to Jazz's project he gets concerned and wants to help. However, he's conflicted because everything in him also wants to run. Dalton has quite the baggage and Jazz makes him want to stay.

This book was sweet and full of suspense but it also missed an edge. The story was too smooth which made it unbelievable at times. But the series has potential. It won't be one I'm dying to read but if it comes my way I would give the series another chance.

A classic girl meets boy book.

A good read and flowed nicely but I think the ending was a little quick. A bit more story at the end would have been better.

The stalker was found, he didn’t seem to fight he just ran away and then they got together and professed their love, the end.

Saying that I’ll be on the look out for the next book in the series.

Happy reading.....

A handyman drifter with pain in his heart and a forsaken bride combine in this romance to form a bond over renovations and over vandalism in this pleasing novel.
Jazzlyn (Jazz) McNally left her intended after she caught him kissing her maid of honor. Decidedly moving forward, she hires Dalton O’Brien to help her renovate her grandparent’s home into a B & B. Along the way, a series of vandalism to the repairs and a joint love of the work draw Jazz and Dalton closer. But, a tragedy in his recent past keeps him from his emotions for her. Time can mend a broken heart but will it mend a broken soul?

The sisters return to the town in which they grew up, to renovate and refurbish their mother's house. They also return to unhappy memories and unfounded prejudices. Well written to keep the readers interest throughout, the book shows how the sisters learn to deal with these and rekindle old relationships. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel.

Jazz is updating her grandparents home and is dealing with someone vandalizing her work. A handy man stops by to see if she needs assistance and it is almost fortuitous. But then she starts falling for her handyman, who has made it clear he will not put down roots. There is a great back and forth pull of emotions throughout the book until the end. SPOILERS AHEAD... There was such a great climax, Jazz alone after Dalton left town, no one around to hear her, a mad man with piano wire... and then poof everything thing is fine, better than fine. It was really anti climatic at that point and a let down. Not that I want Jazz hurt, but a mad man wouldn't just give up and run away like that. Not if he blamed Jazz for ruining his life.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

To Love (The McNally Series, book 1) by Laura Scott is all about new starts and second chances. A little suspense, a little danger, a little drama and some romance are all blended together in this story, making it an enjoyable and intriguing read.

This is the first book written by Laura Scott that I have read. I liked her style, the plot, the growth in the characters and the development of the romance. Fans of contemporary, clean romance will enjoy this book just like I did.

Great start to a series I am anxious to read. The McNally's are opening a B&B in their grandparents home. Jazz is back in town to get all the renovation taken care before her sister and nephew join her. It's hard work so when a mysterious drifter, Dalton O'Brien, offers to assist she can't possibly refuse.

These two both have their own baggage from their past and neither are ready to entertain the thoughts of a new relationship. However, the chemistry between them is a draw so strong they can't seem to ignore it.

While fighting this attraction they end up fighting vandals dead set to hinder the B&B's renovation. This was interesting read and loved these two characters. Bringing in Jemma and her son at the end leads straight to book 2 and I can't wait to read it!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say that it was incredible. I read it in one sitting. It grabbed me from the first chapter. I love Jazz and Dalton. Jazz was such a strong woman who had a something bad happen in her past but she didn’t let that slow her down. She dusted herself off and started to rebuild her life. Dalton on the other had been dealt a really hard blow in his past and he was now just drifting along in life. He just could not get past what happened. He now moves from town to town doing odd jobs with just what he can carry in his backpack. When him and Jazz meant there was a connection there but to me it was not instant but it grew over time. To me this book had it all. It had suspense, romance and love. It also had a message and to me that message was at some point in everyone’s life bad things happen and we all blame ourselves. At some point we have to move past what happen and learn to live again. Honestly I cannot wait until Jazz’s sister, Jemma’s book. I am 100 percent positive I am going to love it. I would highly recommend this book it was very inspirational for me. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jazzlyn McNally is renovating her grandparents’ house to turn it into a B&B but whoever is sabotaging her hard work is making it hard to accomplish her goals. So when Dalton O’Brien knocks on her door asking for a job, she decides to hire him to help her. But he’s not planning on staying for long, just enough to finish his work so then he can leave to keep running from his demons. Until it gets to a point where he needs to decide between protecting his heart and protecting Jazz.

So, what can I say? Interesting, cute enough but not enough to make you fall in love though. At least, that’s how I felt.

I feel like neither of them expose their feelings enough which makes it tough to understand their passion and fall in love with it. I think the story is more about the investigation to find out who’s sabotaging Jazz’s B&B rather than their relationship. So there wasn’t enough romance; hence my classification. And that’s pretty much it.

But, to be honest, the entire plot to find out the person responsible for attacks on her B&B is quite good though. The author keeps you guessing until the very end and I think it was actually unpredictable the way everything ended.

Laura Scott is a new author for me so let’s take a moment to appreciate her writing style! It’s really easy to read and it’s not tiring at all!

Overall, I feel like this left me hanging! To love is not a story made out of a strong love but is still an enjoyable read!

This is a new author for me and I enjoyed the book very much. This is a relaxing story with just a hint of mystery. Jazz and Dalton make a great team. Jazz' amazing talent for construction is encouraging for anyone interested renovation. Looking forward to the next book in this new series. Recommended!

If you’re looking for a nice romantic story with a happily ever after, then this is the book for you. For me it was a bit of a slow burner and only picked up halfway through. I was rooting for the two main characters who both are very cautious about love due to past experiences that hurt them. At the end of the story it felt a bit rushed to tie up one of the story threads. Good news for those who loved this book, this is the first in a series.

A PG, slow burn.

I liked the story overall, but it was just a little too slow for me with not much going on, and when something did happen it was predictable. Yes, there's backstory where we're wondering exactly why Dalton became a drifter, and who in the world could be vandalizing Jazz's property, but I just got a little bored.

Someone has a grudge against her.

At least he doesn't run at the sight of cops.

Oh, poor man.

I bet Tom was hoping to land a rich wife.

Her family are all Js and his were all Ds.

What a crabby old man.

There is nothing wrong with country.

Someone really wants to sabotage her business.

What kind of fire department do they have there? It's taking them way too long.

She dodged a bullet. Thanks to Melanie's slutty ways.
