Took me a while to get in to, but an interesting read, although quite emotional at times. I would have liked an epilogue to see what happened next!

I thought it was a cute book! Definitely enjoyed it, kept me reading until the end. It was an easy read also, which was great for vacation!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

This is the first time I've read anything by this author, but the blurb was interesting, and sounded like the kind of story I would enjoy. And I was not disappointed!

Hattie Green has closed herself off to the possibility of any more relationships. After a failed marriage - one in which her husband cheated on her almost daily - Hattie is happy as she is, with her son Fin, and her dog. Well, she says she is. Her mother is desperately trying to set her up with a friend's awkward son, but Hattie is having none of that.

A freak incident at the supermarket has her taken out of her body to a rather wonderful place, The Halfway Lounge, not quite Heaven, and definitely not here on earth. There she has to review sections of her life, in which she has made decisions which set her on a different path to the one she should be on. She is escorted through this process by a heavenly-bodied, white-suited Josh. Despite swearing off men forever, she quickly finds herself in lust with Josh.

I wasn't surprised by the ending. Indeed, I had my fingers crossed throughout, hoping that Hattie would find real love and happiness in her future.

A clever and thought-provoking idea that is well executed. The Man You Meet in Heaven is well written, engrossing and thoroughly entertaining. There is humour, sarcasm, romance, lust, and fantasy as Hattie is taken on a journey through parts of her past to help her make different choices that will help her find happiness in her future.

This definitely isn’t the book I thought it would be! Wishing a couple of pages I was howling with laughter; I love Debbie's books, they are whimsical and funny, often about the "afterlife" They always flow really well and are easy and relatable. A great read.

Hattie is having a normal day shopping in the supermarket when she gets hit on the head and wakes up with a man in a white suit..... Josh her heavenly guide! Josh helps her relive her past and see what her mistakes have been and where her life has gone wrong before she can move forward.......... and her previous life was certainly not a bed of roses!

A whimsical notion but the book was probably grittier than you would first think, I enjoyed the story and liked the character of Hattie, although her husband wasn't nice at all! A bit predictable but still enjoyable

I love Debbie's books, they are whimsical and funny, often about the "afterlife" They always flow really well and are very readable. This one was slightly less enjoyable only because it was more sexy and lovey dovey lol.

A fun, light read that was perfect for me at the time I read it. Light hearted and hopeful, I thoroughly enjoyed this book in the phase that I read it..

I liked this book. It's not at all what I thought but let me say it was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the story of second changes and I liked the style of writing and I liked the character development. It was a pleasant read. One I didn't devour but that keep me coming back for more. Thanks you netgalley for the arc. This review is my honest opinion

An enjoyable read full of heart!

After an unfortunate accident, Hattie must look back to her past and come to terms with the life she has led - warts and all!

Whilst the story wasn't as light and fluffy as I had expected, it was utterly charming and very deep emotionally. I really enjoyed being taken on Hattie's journey of acceptance and found Debbie's writing style to be very engaging and easy to read.

A real pleasure to read!

This book was perfectly fitting my expectations right up until Hattie hits her head and goes to the Halfway Lounge. It lost my interest pretty quickly after that.

I was looking for a humorous/fun book but this became a little over-the-top and self-help(ish). It was good, but I didn't love it.

A tale of a who is plucked up to heaven to meet a guide who is tasked with showing her all the mistakes that have been made in her life to date that are stopping her from being open to love again. Its a clever idea as by re-living the experiences you watch her back story unfurl. It is very light-hearted and a bit silly as times eg, riding rainbows but I did finish to find out how it would end and was satisfied with the ending.

Thanks to Bookouture for the ARC!

This is my first book by this author, so I had no idea what to expect. I just really wanted to read a fun, sweet story, that would give my mind a break from other heavy stories I've been reading lately. Turns out, this book is not as light as I expected. Hattie had a really horrible life with her ex-husband. He cheated on her many, many, many times. She used to blame herself, forgiving him in order to do what was best to their son and keep the family together. She suffered a lot until the moment she couldn't take it anymore and decided to get divorced. She promised to never fall in love again. No more men. But well, this is a book, so of course it happened again.

After a little accident at the market, she gets unconscious and goes to heaven, where she meets Josh. He wants her to revisit her past in order to move on. He wants her to set herself free from those bad experiences and make new plans for the future. She's still too young not to be enjoying her life to the fullest. She goes back to complicated situations and reflects on them. That doesn't change what happened - they're not altering the past at all - but it helps her to change how she feels about it. Kinda like a therapy, I'd say.

I think it was quite obvious since the beggining who was Josh. At least, that wasn't a surprise for me. But still, I liked this story. It makes us think about second chances in life, things that happen for a reason and the law of attraction in the universe. I do believe in all these things.

The book wasn't as fun as I expected, but it's a nice read.

This book was funny and enjoyable. I needed a nice easy read, one that I could dip in and out of on my daily commute to work (20 minutes each way, even better if I get a seat!), and that I'd know where I was with the story. It was easy to follow and one of those books I read in several sittings.

It has left me wanting to get more books by the author, so a good thing!

Hattie Green pops into her local supermarket one afternoon and is involved in a freak accident. Instead of a trip to the ER, she wakes up in a different dimension and is greeted by a man in a white suit named Josh. How Josh makes Hattie review every major event of her life and makes her let go of emotional shackles, resentment, and past trauma form the rest of the story.

The Man You Meet in Heaven is the kind of story that looks great on paper. But it loses its steam after the first quarter. As Josh and Hattie review her life together, there are so many instances which could’ve been made meaty, but aren’t. That was my biggest problem with this book.

There are several major events from Hattie’s life that just aren’t developed enough. For instance, she goes through a very traumatic experience that I cannot mention for want of spoiling the book. But it isn’t dealt with well in this book. Hattie is in denial about it most of her life. Here, in the other dimension with Josh, she magically addresses it and is healed.

Just when I decided this book was veering strongly towards a 2-star read, the pace picked up and I actually got interested in the story again in the last quarter. While I didn’t like the story as much as I thought I would, I will give it this–it’ll make a good romcom movie.

The Man You Meet in Heaven is a feel-good book in some parts and infuriating in others. But it’s still a short read that you should pick up if you want a lighthearted book with some witty banter.

I was very excited about this book . I loved Debbie Viggiano's previous "What Holly's husband did" so much that I couldn't wait to read this new one. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed about "The man you meet in heaven". It started really well, I thought it was going to be another 5 stars book but then I quickly realized that this book was not for me. I found it too "self-development" book to my taste. I suppose a lot of people will love that aspect but I unfortunately didn't. And I also found some parts way too over the top. A little bit too "crazy" to my taste, not enough realistic. Also this book is described as a fun book. You might be a bit disappointed if you are expecting to laugh out loud when reading this novel. The story of the main character is beautifully written and I really liked discovering what happened in her past but it's not a fun story, it's even quite sad and touching to be honest. So even though the story is lovely and the characters are really lovely as well, I just found the book a bit too over the top, not realistic enough. But I really like Debbie Viggiano's writing and can't wait for her next book!

A delightful tale of falling in love when you really have no intention of ever doing so again. Debbie Viggiano marries what could happen in real life with what could happen on the way to Heaven. Hattie is aided by Josh on how to overcome her disappointments in life and correct her mistakes in thinking. For Hattie, it means forgiveness and kindness to herself and others, while still holding everyone accountable for their own actions.. A few of the terms had me re-reading. For instance, I think of Skittles as a bag of colored candies, rather than something similar to a bowling pin. All in all, a fun book with the promise of being able to go back, and re-do portions of our lives. Wouldn't we all like to have a re-do from time to time? Thank you Debbie for a fun and lighthearted book! I'll be looking for more!

Debbie has done it again! She does not fail! After I read What Holly’s husband did there was no way I could pass up the opportunity to read this! I mean just the blurb how fab does this sound!

The writing by this author makes you feel like you are re-visiting old friends even though they are new characters to us! Like last time I was chuckling and crying!

When Hattie hits her head in the grocery aisle and has to travel back to her past to relive different times in her past. She relives the pain and the heartache – not a fun time at all and was just heartbreaking at times. Personally though if it was Bradley Cooper up in Heaven to take me back…well, where do I sign up?? Seriously…..

This book makes you question, if you had the chance to go back and revisit your life would you? I think I might, but then you run the risk of changing too much! Hard to get my head around some of the things in my past! Would I have done things differently if I had the chance?

I know I have briefly touched on it but this story is such a heartwarming but rollercoaster of a ride. Hattie is just a normal person, flaws and all, taking a lot of blame on herself for actions out of her control, and with her opportunity, she has the chance to let things go. It makes her so relatable and so likeable. She is the sort of person I want to have in my social circle and give her a hug and a cup of tea because everything can be solved with a cup of tea!

I am so glad I got the chance to read another book by Debbie, the writing is so engaging and with short chapters you find yourself flying through the book without realising. Really can’t wait to see what is next!

So where do I start other than to say that this book was so much more than I was expecting. In a way I expected a light and entertaining story and don't get me wrong I got all of those things however there was also a much more deeper side that surprised me too. There was a great balance of lighter and more darker moments that really gave this story such a rounded feel.

Have you ever wanted to look back and reassess your life both the good and bad, well Hattie gets that chance and what follows is an emotional but completely uplifting story. Hattie goes on quite a journey and what an experience she has! It was so easy to become attached to her character, she is strong but also has a vulnerable side that you see revealed as the story progresses.

The pacing of the story was good and all of the little surprises kept me turning those pages. I thought that the way Hattie explored her past was brilliant and really adds an extra layer of emotion. This book will make you think and I loved the overall message that is portrayed. I couldn't help but finish this book smiling away to myself!

A romance with a difference that completely captured my attention!
