took a little time to get into the book. it started off so dark and giving the terrible stereotype of strip clubs. but once i got past that i really enjoyed it. Ro and Chloe are great and can't wait for the next book.

Better and better. I was literally scared to go onto the next chapter at certain points in the story. But the author didn’t let me down. Chloe and Ro are amazing. He is so sweet in trying to make sure she always has what she needs. Chloe is an amazingly strong woman. And there’s enough of the MM to make sure I get those books as well. This was an action-packed, emotionally stimulating, and wonderfully sexy read! I completely loved Ro and Chloe individually, and absolutely adored them together

Chloe had a good life, then it all fell apart. She learns all the things that brought her to this point in her life are not as they seem. One thing she does know, she can't resist Ronan. Ronan has been fascinated with Chloe since he first saw her. Finding her and keeping her safe is his priority, and anybody who doesn't agree, needs to move out of his way. Chloe has strength in spades, she isn't beat down yet, and Ro is willing to go against anyone, and everyone, to defend Chloe against those after her

Great second book. Chloe's problem is very different from the first book, and Ro falls harder and faster than his team mate. Lots of creepy bad guys to take care of, plus lots of hot, sexy times.

Ms. Stocker …I am impressed! Your book, Defending Chloe deserves a 5 star rating! Usually I don’t get too excited about romance books! They are there for a purpose …my little fix after reading a more emotionally charged book. This book, on the other hand, really surprised me! The story had all the elements needed in a good romance novel: romance, suspense, enough steamy bits to keep it interesting and humor to tie it all together. But what really set this book apart from all the other “ho-hum” books out there was the ending! There was a twist that I was definitely not expecting and I loved how she ended her Epilogue! I have a huge respect for an author who is able to entertain us with her imagination …to put her creativity into such story telling …I am quite envious! The characters in the book were believable …there was a great story plot …ending with a killer finish that you won’t see coming! I will definitely be seeking out more of Ms. Stoker’s work in the future!

So we are back with the Mountain Mercenaries, this is the second installment and just as good as the first one. This is Ro's story along with his new love interest Chloe. Poor Chloe she has a horrible brother who is greedy and malicious, just a horrible horrible person. So since Chloe is set to inherit billions of dollars on her 35th birthday (which she knows nothing about) he keeps her alive, but decides she will work as a sex slave. Ro remembers Chloe from when she stopped by his house in the middle of nowhere and he can't forget her he noticed she had a bruise in her back and knew she was being abused. Won't tell you more so you can read, we also get to read from Gray and Allye.. Enjoy!

This is book 2 in Susan Stoker’s new series Mountain Mercenaries. I have not had a chance to read book 1 but after reading this one I may just have to.

This is the story of Chloe Harris and Ronan Cross. These two meet for the first time when Chloe happen to come knocking on Ro’s secluded mountain home asking to use his phone. Ro is part of a group who defends and protect women and children. What he saw in Chloe was someone who is obviously being abused. When he offers his help, she refuses and leaves. Ever since that meeting Ro has not been able to get Chloe off his mind. When he digs a little, he finds her in a strip joint and again offers his assistance. What ensues is a bit of misunderstandings, suspicions, but slowly into trust and eventually into love.

I knew reading the prologue that this was going to be a difficult journey for Chloe and it was. Her brother is such a horrible human being that at times I was a bit apprehensive of what he was going to put Chloe through. But Chloe was such a woman of strength, she was able to endure. And I loved Ro! His need to protect and defend is so strong with Chloe. He had a hunch that Chloe needed his help and even though it may cause issues with the group, he was all in.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, I can not wait to find out about the stories of the other members of the team and who this mysterious Rex is and what his story is about.

I loved this book it is the story of Chloe Harris and Ronan Cross. Women usually don't just stumble onto Rowans property but Chloe did and she needs all the help she can get.

Since her father died her brother a flesh peddler and also part of Denvers Mafia is keeping her prisoner. He is trying to force her to sell her body for a reason Chloe didn't see coming. Her only way free is to run into the arms of the one man she can trust. Helping Chloe could cause problems for the Mountain Mercenaries. Her brother has mob connections and cops in his pocket. Ronan has a team of the Mountain Mercenaries to help him.

I really could feel the chemistry between Chloe and Ro. You could feel her fear for the situation she was in and how much Rowan wanted to help her. You will love this story of love and danger. I couldn't put it down until it was done. I will be rereading this for years to come. You really should check this series and book out. I can't wait for the next one.

LOVED this book! The Mountain Mercenaries are a group of rough men that hide in the plain sight of the Colorado mountains. Ro is, literally, in his secluded and wooded home, when Chloe asks him for help. At the time, she captures his attention, but also his concern when he sees a large bruise on her back. When he offers to help her, Chloe says all she needs is a phone to call for a ride. Reluctantly, he allows her to leave, but begins to look for her by playing a hunch about her brother.

When he finds Chloe in dire circumstances, he feels compelled to act, which then puts him, and Mountain Mercenaries, in the midst of a fight between Chloe's psychotic brother (that plans to pimp her out) and the mafia, while also trying to stay on the good side of Rex, the mysterious leader of Mountain Mercenaries. Add in the sparks flying between Chloe and Ro and you have a compelling story that hooked me from the first page and kept me hooked until the very last page.

This one is a must read for fans of the genre. I was sorry when the novel ended and am already looking forward to the author's next book. She is on my must read authors' list.

She’s scared but finally trusts Ro and his friends. When she’s kidnapped again, Ro will do anything to get her back.
I absolutely loved this story. Strong women and sexy men. Cruel and evil brother and his girlfriend. Sex, secrets, and action. This story will have you so engrossed you will have it read in no time.
