I loved this book, but dreaded reading it. Thankfully there will one day be a series continuing on from it. Why oh why did there have to be a cliff hanger? Please bring Beeps series out ASAP!

I loved that the author stayed true to her form with this book. It didn’t turn into a long epic fantasy novel and we could enjoy the same old lovably funny Charley. There is a mortal mystery to solve as well as mystical doom and gloom to combat. There are old characters and new ones. There is a bunch of surprises leading up to a sharp and fast ending. And it all comes at you with that lingering uncertainty about Charley and Reyes’s fate. Well done.

I've enjoyed this series from book one, and I had so much apprehension about this being the last book. I'm sorry to say that it just didn't do it for me. I don't want to give anything away, The ending was lacking, and I'm hoping that Beep will be explored a little more in a different storyline. That being said, I still loved the series and the author, and I can't wait to read more from her.

I have put off reading this book for months. The last book was a bit of a let down and I always have a hard time reading the last book in a series that I have loved. It's so bittersweet. I want to know what happens but I don't want it to end. Charley has been apart of my life for years and I am so sad that her story is over... I mean I know there will be more in this world and Charley will no doubt be a part of it, but you guys get what I mean.

There is honestly not much I can say about this book with out giving anything away. But if you have read the first 12 book then I don't need to talk you into reading the 13. I can't see anyone not wanting to know how this book plays out. I will say that if you were disappointed with the last book (like I was) then this book makes up for the last one. I truly enjoyed this book. Like every other book in this series... even the not so great books are wonderful and entertaining.

You know what? I received this book for an honest review and honest I shall be. You should be warned that some of the things I will say are spoiler-ish. Also is not my intent to offend or hurt the author.

First of all, the ending sucked. It was not a good one in my opinion. Why? Well, for one, it wasn't an ending. The series ends with a cliffhanger of sorts and now we will have to wait for Beep or Osh's story to find out what happens. I would have loved to read a spin-off series without having all the plotlines from this series. Many of us readers would. Now the ending made me feel like they just want to make sure that Beep's book will have the Charlie readers. But, maybe then we will see Charlie and Reyes hug their daughter and talk to her. The lack of that parental relationship got on my nerves.

I used to love the series. Charley seemed like a smart person, but slowly she starting acting like an idiot who had been hit too many times in the head. The romance took a step back and everything became about this big villain, which was not even defeated in the end. Again, we will have to wait for Beeps' book. The quality started to decline and I can safely say that because I got more excited re-reading book than I was while I was reading books 11, 12 and 13 for the first time. We got a few revelations about some characters that didn't really make sense and felt like they were just added to throw the reader off.

A lot of people die in this book and I have no idea why. They didn't have to. Just for the shock factor and that disappointed me. The book had some strong moments that got me emotional, but they weren't enough. I am writing this review 2 or 3 weeks after I closed the book and my feelings are still raw. I wanted something more for Reyes and Charlie. And the rest of the characters. And speaking of them, no one really got closure and it bugs me. I have been following the series for the last 5 years and this is not how I imagined it ending.

(This is a review that somehow got missed when it came to submitting and posting)

As an ending to a long-running series, this was perfect! It brought all of the characters that have been introduced in the last twelve books and used them to end this final book in a satisfying way. I also enjoyed how most of these characters got their own little endings to each of their arcs as well.

There were a lot of mysteries to solve in this one, almost making the final battle less important, but not taking away from the awesomeness of the scene.

This is clearly not the last of this fictional world, but it is the last, unfortunately, of Charley and Reyes. Maybe. #NoSpoilers.

How do you read an anticipated end-of-series novel and not let it end? Savor every word, every scene, highlight every quote and hope that the next page is not the last. I seriously tried to slow down my reading and not devour this book in one sitting. Unfortunately, it’s like taking that red pill. Once I started reading, I’m basically done for.

Charlie is back from her hundred years in exile. While she came back with a lead about her mother, she comes back to the chaos that is threatening her loved ones and mankind. It’s been quite a journey for Charley, Reyes, and crew, but in this last installment, they will fight the biggest battle of all.

What an amazing ending to a perfect series! Charley, Reyes and a handful of characters finally got their HEA. Not without a fight, but they got it. Darynda did right by them and with that, she did right by me. I loved every page. What amazed me is how Darynda neatly tied things together. From the very beginning of the series to this very last. There were twists and turn of events and reveals that shocked the heck out of me. Unfortunately, mentioning any of it will just lead to spoilers but know this, you will not be disappointed in any of the outcomes.

Here’s what that excites me the most; Darynda left a few things open. Not so much a cliffhanger but more of a possibility for a spin-off. I was told by DJ herself that she has plans for that. The only question is when. I just hope sooner than later. Meanwhile, she has another series in the making and I have no doubt it will be amazing.

Since I read this book in November, it was hard not including it in my Best of 2018. So, I will say it now, this book is in the running for my Best Book, Best Couple, Best Sex Scene, Best Series, Kick-Ass Heroine, And Sexiest Hero for 2019. Not to mention Best Author!

If you haven’t read this series yet, you simply must!

Wonderful finish to an outstanding series. Darynda has left room to do another series later down the road maybe 20 years in the future.

The Charley Davidson series is one of my absolute favorite series of all time. It has everything you could want; humor, mystery, supernatural elements, romance (which I personally don't care for but a lot of people do), and more. I was incredibly, incredibly sad to see this series end, but this book was a joy to read and answered quite a few questions that had been ongoing from early on.

The reason that I am only giving this book four stars is simply because there were some major revelations that I feel didn't exactly get the detail they deserved due to having to fit a LOT into this one last book and also the fact that it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, which is frustrating to see in a final book. I can only hope that the author is setting it up for a spin off, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more of a clear and tightly wrapped up ending.

ARC/E-book/Urban Fantasy: I baked homemade strawberry shortcake this weekend to read the last two books.

Well, it's over. For now anyway because I am sure Baby Beep will grow up and have her own book series. I don't know how I feel about the prophecy of her and Osh hooking up. They have more of an age gap than Buffy & Angel. A lot more.

This book had a lot of unanswered questions. Why didn't Charley question how she got out of the prison dimension? That was the question that was going through my head the whole time and it should have been on Charley's mind from the beginning. This book was too short and I would have liked some flashback chapters with excerpts from Charley's mind while in the dark dimension. You'd think she would have honed in on some of her skills during her quiet time out.

While I like the premise of the books, it can get confusing because the backstory of Charley betraying Reyes and her getting amnesia. The best explanation was the children's book in book 12. I didn't understand the whole last fight with the Shade and how Charley won. I still don't like Reyes all that much. There's a lot of baggage that goes with those looks.

As for the fun parts? I like that some of the characters storylines ended happily. There were too many characters over the 13 books and some of them needed to be thinned out a while ago. I was surprised by Uncle Bob's secret, as was Reyes, so I don't feel stupid.

I want to thank NetGalley for letting me have access to the whole series on e-book.

I wasn't planning on reading this one. This series fell by the wayside for me a while ago but when I was offered an arc I thought, "why not?" And I'm so glad I did. I had forgotten just how funny and unpredictable this series is. Darynda Jones keeps the action, suspense, surprises, and, of course, laughter coming as she prepares for the final showdown between good and evil...only she has to get Charley back on the earthy plain first. Though this is touted as the end, Jones leaves us with the possibility of more to come.

LOVE! That is the first thought when I read this story. I love the writing, plot and just everything about this book and series. I can't get enough of author Darynda Jones and her writing. I can't wait to read what's next for her and her books.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed reading this. An interesting story with fun characters. Well written.

Absolutely perfect ending to a wonderful series. I loved it, despite hating that the adventure was over. Just fantastic, and utterly fitting.

I can't believe that was the last Charley Davidson book, I'm sad. When I received this ARC, I realized that I was three books behind and wondered how that happened! Easy answer, work was cutting into my reading time.

So I went all the way back to the beginning, and had my daily share of Charleyisms. And a whole lot of Reyes in between.

While it was sad and bittersweet that it ended the way it did, it really was the only out our favorite supernatural couple had, and they get to watch over Beep forever! I was floored about Ubie though, never saw that one coming!

And Yeah, Where is Osh Kosh Begosh?

Coming to a new book series near us, Miss Jones? Let's hope so. I want to know if Miss Beep will have her mother's coffee addiction, and sense of humor. And if she has Reyes intelligence, and looks. Please don't disappoint me Osh, because I have faith in your devilish ways.

The world of Charley Davidson has finally come to an end. The thirteenth and final book in this series, Summoned to Thirteenth Grave, ended the series in a way I didn't expect but I loved nonetheless.

Charley is back on Earth after being banished to for over 100 years, or as she puts it " “exiled in hell with no light, no hair products and no coffee." Talk about actual hell! She's reunited with the regular crew, and things seem great. We're all having a great time. Until our dear darling son-of-Satan and resident hottie Reyes opened up (accidentally) a hell dimension and lots of demons are out and about eating human souls. They have to work together to figure out how to stop them and send them all back to where they belong in a final epic showdown between good and evil.

It hurts me to say good-bye to these characters because I've been reading about them for years, but every good thing must come to an end. Darynda hit a home run with this series that was full of so many funny moments, sexy moments and action-packed plot lines that kept you invested from book to book. I think it wrapped up nicely with a lot of questions answered - Uncle Bob, who knew?! - and I'm sure it was tough for the author to say good-bye to this wonderful gang of weirdos.

Summoned to the Thirteenth Grave is the conclusion to the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. You really do not want to start at the end, that would just be silly and very confusing.

Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plain for eternity – which is the appropriate amount of time to make a person stark-raving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer. She’s missed Reyes and her daughter, Beep, but now that she’s back on earth, it’s time to put to rest burning questions that need answers. What happened to her mother? How did she really die? Who killed her? And are cupcakes or coffee the best medicine? It all comes to a head in an epic showdown between good and evil in this final smart and hilarious novel.

Summoned to the Thirteenth Grave is a solid ending to the series. There are a few doses of humor, but the world is at stake (again) and there are lies and mysteries that need to be dealt with in order to make it through. Charley makes it back to our world only to discover that a lot has happened while she was gone. Again, there are huge complications and dangers to deal with and some things come together in a very unique way. I like how some of the connections to characters were made, while the losses that happen in this conclusion are somewhat heartbreaking on different levels. I think those that started the series really need to get this far and finish it, it is a satisfying finish for the most part, and I am glad that I had the chance to read the whole thing, and share my feelings about it with you.

Summoned to the Thirteenth Grave is a conclusion that does a good job of wrapping up the series, and answers a good number of questions. My one issue was with the very, very end. Holy hint towards a related series and leaving one big ball up in the air.

A bittersweet ending. I am happy about the ending, but also sad it’s over.

I feel like there’s more to come from this world. Some questions were answered, but I think enough was left open to allow for a spinoff.

This is the final book of the Charley Davidson Series . I have loved this series from the beginning.. I am so sorry for the ending even though I knew it would end eventually. My fervent hope is that there will be a spin off featuring her daughter , Beep
This ending was epic !!!! Very readable and fast paced!!!! The twist at the end was unexpected!! All the loose ends were tied up nicely and of course in this last book , there was a mystery to solve and a doomsday looming !!!
So sorry to see the ending of the series , there may have been some tears shed . I would recommend this series to anyone but start at book one and you will become addicted to these characters : Charley a P.I. who just happens to be the Grim Reaper , her best friend Cookie and her daughter , Amber and of course the love of her life , the actual Son of Satan , Rafe and all the side characters who are wonderful and quirky. I could stay in the world forever!!! Overall a great read!!

****Thanks to Netgalley for the eArc in exchange for an honest review. *****

If you follow me on Goodreads you'll know I binge read the last five books in this series in less than a week, I've been totally hooked on this series and overall I've really enjoyed it. The trouble with final books in popular series though is that it can be hard for authors to live up to fan's high expectations and I think that was the problem with Summoned to Thirteenth Grave.

This book had all the elements I love from this series, the humour, brilliant side characters, madcap plans to save the world and of course the heat from Charley and Reyes' relationship. There has been a lot of build up for this story and I was happy with a lot of events and reveals in this story. I did feel sad about the way a few of the characters stories ended but if you've read the rest of the series you'll probably know not to expect everyone getting a happily ever after.

I think my two biggest issues with this story were one that the major battle was such a tiny part of the story and over far too quickly and easily and two the way things ended for Charley and Reyes. Yes they kind of get a happy ending but it wasn't the ending I was hoping for for them and Beep and it certainly wasn't the ending they deserved. I know we're gearing up for a spin off series about Beep and her future adventures and I'm 99% sure that I'll be reading those books but it makes me sad to think about how things were left at the end of this story and that makes me a little nervous about how things will move forward from here.

You know a series ended well when it leaves you completely satisfied but in this case it actually left me feeling sad and that's disappointing for a series I've had so much fun reading.
