Charley and Seth have just got married, at the reception Charley is no where to be found. Seth is besides himself with worry.

Charley is a public figure in the fact her parents, who were well known celebrities, were murdered 15 years earlier and the killer never found. Charley was raised by her older sister Martha and led a twisty life which Seth doesn’t seem to know about.

For me it was well written but a little predictable. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Kerry Wilkinson and I'll certainly say it was a page turner!

The story opens at Seth and Charley's wedding, a small event at a hotel shared with another wedding party. Seth realises he can't see Charley and, indeed, she seems to have vanished into thin air. As Seth waits for Charley to return to their marital home, the different perspectives and flashbacks kick in and we begin to learn about Charley's life before Seth...

It's an intriguing premise and one that is handled well by Wilkinson. The pace is quick and there are several characters who read very realistically - Seth himself, his sister Emily and Charley's sister Martha are all appealing characters. I did find some of the plot required a suspension of disbelief, but I don't want to go into details here in case of spoilers. It catches you up in the story and pulls you along, but doesn't always bear scrutiny or common sense!

Overall, I'd say this was a compelling and interesting read. You might have questions at the end, but you won't have been bored.

Love Kerry's books and loved this one too, a book full of suspense, a great page turner and it held my interest throughout.

I really enjoy the way this author writes and I particularly loved the short chapters that kept relating to the main characters and the different years.

Can thoroughly recommend this book, well done Kerry and I look forward to your next masterpiece.

Absolutely loved it, Kerry has done it again. The wife's secret is the story of Charlotte Willis, daughter of two television legends, both tragically murdered while she hid upstairs aged 13. Brought up by her sister Martha, this should be the happiest day of charleys life, marrying the love of her life, Seth. When she goes missing from the reception Seth is bewildered, there's no trace of her to be found, has the Willis curse struck again? Or is it something closer to home? Read this in one go, couldn't put it down, I could definitely see the simililarity in the relationship between Martha and charley here and the sisters in Kerry's previous book, the Two sisters. Highly recommend it.

Domestic suspense thriller. What if the woman you've married turns out to be someone you didn't know at all?

The Willis family seems to be followed by a curse of tragedy. Parents Annie and Paul, "Everyone's mum and dad" are famous for their books and television presence. When they are murdered one night, their 13-year-old daughter, Charley, is found by her sister Martha hiding in the wardrobe upstairs. The killer was never found. Fifteen years later, Charley marries vet Seth Chambers -- and goes missing from the wedding reception. As Seth tries to figure out where Charley has gone, with the police and the press coming and going, he's in a right state of exhaustion and worry.

The narrative goes back and forth in time and point of view as the story unravels layer by layer with surprising twists and bitter truth. The Willis family wasn't who they represented themselves to be, which isn't the most surprising revelation, but it's true that you can't always believe everything you hear, that you read, or that you see. Many secrets are hidden behind the front door of a family home and the Willis family has a lot to hide. Money may not be everything to everyone, but it sure can provide a lot of negative or positive motivation.

Enjoyed this standalone by one of my favorite authors. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the e-book ARC to read and review.

Another phenomenal book by this Author. A woman disappears from her wedding reception. She reappears in a few days but is caught in a lie as to where she has been. A lot of twists and turns. I didn't want this book to end. I was not expecting the ending that was delivered. Such a good book! Thanks to NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

This book is a real page turner and a must for fans old and new of Kerry Wilkinson
Hooks the reader in from the first page.
The storyline is so good and believable.
I love the way Kerry gives the central characters repeat short chapters throughout the book.
The main character Charley’s life is played out throughout the book.
It’s a rollercoaster ride right through to the end and believe me I did not expect that ending!
It’s is well written and such an easy book to loose yourself in.
A word of warning though! Do not read it in one sitting which is so easy to do.
You will be left longing for more!
Well done Kerry. I absolutely loved this book and am so sad I have not got it to look forward to in October but feel privileged to be among the few to have read it first.

This book had me at the first page. Two stories twisted together which tell the story of the Willis’ curse. As with Kerry’s other books you don’t know ‘who done it’ until the end. Written by one of my favourite writers, Kerry does not let us down; this is possibly the best stand alone book he has ever written, I just couldn’t put it down. I’d highly recommend this book!

Charley Willis was 13 years old when her celebrity parents were brutally murdered in their home. Charley was found hiding in the wardrobe upstairs, safe from the attack. 15 years later and it is Charley’s wedding day. She has married vet, Seth, but during the reception just hours after her wedding, she goes missing. Nobody saw her leave and no one knows where she is or what has happened to her. But what Seth discovers is that he didn’t really know his wife at all….

I jumped at the chance to read this book. I love this author’s books and have read many of his them over the last few years. The book begins in the present day, at Seth and Charley’s wedding reception. We are introduced to Seth as he circulates amongst his friends and family who have turned up to their wedding. The first chapter sets the scene well, beginning to build up an uneasy suspense while you wait for Seth to discover that Charley is missing. As the book moves it, it alternates between present date and Charley’s past, at various times of her life. This switch between times is done simply, with the chapters marked with the date, and is not confusing as some other books I have read are.

The suspense builds up quickly through the book. Going into Charley’s past, you begin to get a snapshot as to what her childhood and early adult years were like. I really felt for Charley reading these parts as it was obvious that it was not an easy childhood with her ‘celebrity’ parents. I also really felt for Seth in the present day, who obviously had no idea what was going on, where Charley was or what had happened to his new wife. We are also introduced to other family members throughout the story, particularly Charley’s elder brother, Liam and her older sister, Martha. I think Martha was a fabulous character and was probably my favourite from the book – you will understand why as the book moves on.

As usual with this author’s books, we are kept in suspense for a long way into the book, with the story unfolding and explaining itself towards the end. I have to admit, I did sort of guess what was going on, but there were still parts which I didn’t expect and made me gasp when they were revealed. This was a heart-breaking tale of a young girl’s childhood and how the repercussions of what happened that night sent shockwaves through Charley’s whole life.

Shocking, gripping and heartbreaking….it will keep you hooked until the very last page. Trust me, you will not be able to put it down.

WOW ABSOLUTELY WOW!!!! This is the most unputdownable book I've read in a very long time!!! There's a wedding, Charley and Seth are just married but the bride, Charley, disappears at the reception. Where is she, did she just walk away or was she kidnapped??

What an amazing book right up until the end. Charley’s Parents are killed when she was 13 years old. Fast forward years later and Charley has gotten married, but goes missing on her wedding day. Did she voluntarily leave or was she kidnapped?

I don’t want to give anything away, happy reading, youn won’t regret it.

I finished the book in almost one sitting. It will keep you guessing until the very end.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
