The Wife's Secret is a very intriguing book (see book blurb), full of mystery and unique characters. The plot really pulled me in and I read this book very quickly!

I liked the variety of characters and how different they all were. The author not only writes from various characters points of view, but from various points of time that make up the story line. I really enjoyed that, and the pace it was set at was perfect.

With the chaos, dysfunction and mystery, Kerry Wilkinson manages to really made me feel for one of the main characters (Charley)in particular, along with her sister.

I really enjoyed this whole book. My only disappointment was that I did not feel the conclusion left too many loose threads and emotions, so I did not really get an 'ending' feeling.

This book was an amazing psychological thriller!! I couldn’t put it down! I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails! So many twists and turns that you don’t see coming! I enjoyed it so much, I read it in one sitting!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

What a book!!!! Had me gripped from the first page right through to the last page.... could not put it down but didn't want it to end either! A fantastic read!

I am a massive fan of this author's books and his stand alone psychological thrillers that have been released have been brilliant - and having read this one for me it is possibly his best yet!

I loved the plot for this story, the suspense that is created is great. I did guess quite a bit of the plot but there were twists still that I didn't see coming and it was a completely additive read that I read from start to finish the day it landed on my Kindle.

The characters in the story are brilliant, Martha was my favourite character and I can imagine that she was fun to write about too, Charley and Seth were great as well and with them having different backgrounds and personalities it that made the story so deep in places and really intense! There are quite a few people in the story too that I strongly detested too...

Five stars from me for this one - I loved the writing style, it had a great pace and was really well executed! Cannot wait to see what he releases next!!

This is a read that you will not want to put down. I found myself up way passed my bedtime with this one. Everyone has secrets and portrays themselves as they want to be seen by the world, but how much do we really know the ones we love?

First time reading any of Kerry’s books and I really enjoyed this! Will be looking out for others that’s for sure!
Kept me hanging on, wasn’t sure how the ending would go so when I got there was a little surprising! Devoured in one sitting !

Oh my god what an amazing book. This is a real page turner. Nothing is what it seems in this book.
It has kidnapping, murder, betrayal, love and greed. Not forgetting emotional abuse. In this book there are so many red herrings.
How can a woman disappear at her own wedding reception and what reasons can she possibly have for her actions ???
I was hooked from the first page and only putting this book down when I needed to.
My husband has definitely become a book widower with this one. The storyline jumps from past to present all the way through until the dramatic climax.
It is true what they say You can pick your friends but not your family.
A really good psychological thriller with a family from hell!!!!!
I would like to thank the author Kerry Wilkinson, Bookouture and Net.galley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for giving an honest review.

OHHHHHH I just love a Kerry Wilkinson book.. Wilkinson is one of my all time favourite authors. I love his writing style. I particularly love his Jessica Daniel Series. This one isn't part of any series, this one is a standalone and what a bloody good read it is.
I love a good wedding, and it seems that Charlie and Seth have had there beautiful day, they have said their vows and are now husband and wife, how perfect.
Well it's not perfect, as just hours after the wedding service Charlie goes missing from the reception party. No one noticed her leaving, no one saw anything odd, so where is she? What the hell has happened to her?
This book flicks back from Then to Now, the life Charlie had before she met Seth. The up evils in her life, what she witnessed and went through as a child.
The thing is, Seth is about to discover he really doesn't know the person he has just married. Is he going to love and cherish his new bride.
Find out what happened in Charlies life by reading this captivating book.

This book really is one of those page turners. A book that has you gripped. It's one of those books that as much as you try to figure things out, you just have no damn clue which way it is going. Brilliantly, cleverly written. This author certainly has a superb mind and a knack for putting it all onto those pages. First class, but I really didn't expect anything else from this author.

BLOODY LOVED IT!!!!!

Kerry Wilkinson wrote the novel “The Wife’s Secret”. I was looking forward to reading this novel because the rest of the title page promised a thriller – Charley Willis just married, and now she’s missing. The stuff of drama!

We start at the wedding reception. Seth, the bridegroom, is a bit snockered as is his best man. He is looking for his wife, Charley so that they can leave the reception. Except, no one can find her. Search parties fan out from the venue, but no one has seen hide nor hair of her since the reception. Seth finally just goes home, thinking Charley would be there. She isn’t. So, he goes to bed thinking that he will call the police in the morning. From there things really get interesting. As much as the thrilling story evolves and past actions come to light, I can’t get over the fact that Seth just continues on waiting for her to come home - no hysterics, no despair. I felt as though I was reading a sci-fi novel. Finding out about Charle’s past didn’t help the situation, and Seth’s demeanor after the revelation was just as disturbing. I was not comfortable with this novel.

This was a definitely a pager turner.. It was somewhat predictable in places but I am OK with that . The story still kept me completely engrossed. I haven't read anything by him before but have just added some more of his titles to my Want to Read lists. Thanks for the advanced copy Netgalley so that I could enjoy a good book and find a new author!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this arc.

I requested this arc because it was written by Kerry Wilkinson and I've very much enjoyed his Jessica Daniels stories. This is not a procedural but a stand alone "psychological suspense thriller." This sub-genre is not my favorite these days as most seem to be fairly predictable stories and include the requisite irritating "clueless" main character / victim. Based on the characterizations I found in his Jessica Daniels stories, I requested this one anyways.

In The Wife's Secret, I found the story to be fairly predictable (as expected) and mostly well-paced (it did get a little draggy in parts). The characters made up for most of that. The main ones were fully fleshed out and all felt very genuine in their feelings and reactions to the situations they found themselves in. While I liked most of them, even the "evil one" was well developed with no extra evilness thrown in for the "shock value".

Overall, a nice solid read and recommended for fans of psychological suspense.

On the whole I enjoyed this story. There were some twists and turns to keep me interested though I guessed some parts but not all.. The ending could have been expanded for more clarity.. I would definitely read another novel from this author as I liked the style of her writing. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it

A great British domestic noir! My favourite!
This is my first book by Kerry Winkinson, but it definitely will not be my last. I really love his style of writing! The best part was the way the author revealed the truth little by little. Slowly. I couldn’t get enough!!
A huge thank you to Bookouture, Kerry Wilkinson and NetGalley for the ARC!

Wow and I thought I had a dysfunctional family ha ha!!! The Wife’s Secret was a very quick read as in it drew you in and didn’t let you go until you got to the crux of the matter. Charley Willis disappears on the evening of her wedding reception, the daughter of the late celebrity couple, Annie & Paul Willis who were murdered 15 years previous when she was only 13. The question is in this, what lengths would you go to in order to get money? Her brother, Liam is only ever in touch when he wants money despite getting over million inheritance. To talk too much about the story/plot would give too much away but prepare yourself for a thrill of a ride as Seth faces the reality of what exactly he married into! Plenty of twists and turns as the lies become unravelled. I really enjoyed it.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks for the publisher, the author and Netgalley for providing a copy. It's my pleasure to write a review.
I enjoyed the book! I enjoyed the writing style! I enjoyed the story, it's nicely done to have some surprises around the corner - that's why I can't go into detail here. In sum it's a book for everyone who wants an easy, good written mystery thriller - no boring, long drawn-out passages, no language that seems in constant search for precious wording nobody in real life ever uses - I'm sure the readers won't get disappointed.

The Wife’s Secret is classic Kerry Wilkinson. I was overjoyed when I received this title from NetGalley because I was in the middle of another not-so-exciting book that I was eager to set aside. The Wife’s Secret is exactly what I needed (and exactly what I’ve come to expect from Wilkinson): a well-developed plot with no shortage of twists and turns. In addition to the various plot twists, the thrilling suspense is compounded by varied narratives from differing characters in both the past and present. .

Seth, a veterinarian, had married Charlotte just hours ago - now she is missing...

15 years ago Charlotte (Charley) was only 13. After her parents were murdered she went to live in London with her 22 year old sister, Martha. Although brash and brazen, Martha was kind and loving to her little sister. We also find out that there is another sibling, Liam - 24 years old.

Seth frantically searches for his new wife at the wedding venue (hotel). He also checks out the surrounding area. Naturally, some of the wedding guests think that Charley had cold feet and fled. Eventually, Seth returns to his and Charley's house in search of clues as to her whereabouts. Of course! A police car pulls up. The spouse is always a suspect. Seth describes the entire situation. The police ask why Liam was not at the wedding. - he was not invited - Charley's choice.

15 years ago the solicitor for Charlie's parents tells the family that the estate of Paul and Annie (the deceased parents of Liam, Charley & Martha) is split 3 ways to them.
David, Paul's brother, is livid. HE feels that he deserves the house - after all, he gave Paul money to help buy the place. A fight with the boisterous Martha ensues.

The press gets a whiff of this and they are all over Seth and Charley's house. Emily, Seth's sister, brings groceries, etc. due to the ever-looming press just waiting for Seth. Also, Liam calls - he wants to meet with Seth. We all know by now that Liam cannot hold onto money and was refused any by Charley in the past. But Seth is desperate - so he goes to meet Liam. Liam hooks him up with a reporter.

The wedding dress is found, barely touched. Liam had recently told Charley, "I know about mum and dad."
The reader finds out about Charley's abuse at home years ago.

Charley shows up in their bed at her home... To Seth, "I was abducted"

And the fun is just beginning.....

MUST READ!!! A thriller that is bound to keep you reading late into the night! Recommend!

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for this very special read.

Charley and Seth have just got married, at the reception Charley is no where to be found. Seth is besides himself with worry.

Charley is a public figure in the fact her parents, who were well known celebrities, were murdered 15 years earlier and the killer never found. Charley was raised by her older sister Martha and led a twisty life which Seth doesn’t seem to know about.

For me it was well written but a little predictable. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Kerry Wilkinson and I'll certainly say it was a page turner!

The story opens at Seth and Charley's wedding, a small event at a hotel shared with another wedding party. Seth realises he can't see Charley and, indeed, she seems to have vanished into thin air. As Seth waits for Charley to return to their marital home, the different perspectives and flashbacks kick in and we begin to learn about Charley's life before Seth...

It's an intriguing premise and one that is handled well by Wilkinson. The pace is quick and there are several characters who read very realistically - Seth himself, his sister Emily and Charley's sister Martha are all appealing characters. I did find some of the plot required a suspension of disbelief, but I don't want to go into details here in case of spoilers. It catches you up in the story and pulls you along, but doesn't always bear scrutiny or common sense!

Overall, I'd say this was a compelling and interesting read. You might have questions at the end, but you won't have been bored.
