A well-written novel that is a nice addition to the series. The characters and the setting come alive with the style I've come to expect from Lawhead. I look forward to more potential books in the series.

I hadn't read the first in this series, so perhaps that affected my opinion of this book. Or perhaps I just had higher expectations of Lawhead, as his Pendragon Cycle and his Bright Empire series are among my favorites. This was a pleasant fantasy set in a mythical world based on Ireland. It has all of the elements you'd expect: fairies, romance, battles and brotherhood. And maybe that's my problem: there was nothing particularly surprising. Lawhead does write well, and it was an enjoyable read - just not his best.

Good storytelling, with good pacing, and fun characters. The Celtic mythology twist on history was cool. I enjoyed this book.

In this second book of the series Connor and his friends are rescued and transported to the"Land of the Everliving", the fairies world, for rest and recuperation. Once Connor has healed, he is anxious to get back to Eirlandia to continue the fight to wipe the Scalda from their lands. The King of the fairies gifts the three friends with swords, shields, and spears made by the fairy craftsmen that have "magical" powers to help them in their fight. When Connor asked the king to join them in the fight he refuses and the three friends are sent on their way. The adventures continue. This book does an excellent job of continuing the story but leaving you wanting more. I am looking forward to the next installment This is a well written fantasy adventure.

n the Land of the Everliving, the second book in the Eirlandia series, is a classic Lawhead tale, and one that definitely does not leave the reader wanting. There are so many fantastic and well-drawn characters in this series, and I'm so glad I had the chance to read the second book. I really enjoyed the journey of the characters and their fortitude. This wasn't a brash story where everyone is doing insanely courageous things, but the characters go through an evolution of growth and realization. Very pleased! I was also impressed with some turns of phrases--and the camaraderie of the characters was perfect!

Lawhead has delivered once again a lyrical, mystical tale of brotherhood, love and mixing both in the real world and the fantastical.

Stephen Lawhead is renowned for his complex world constructions and use of Celtic mythology. In this book, he does not disappoint. The world and characters are beautifully created, with the characters showing a wonderful life of their own, bringing humor to even harsh situations. The characters are wonderfully human and it is so easy to invest in them and their mission. If you are not already a fan of Stephen Lawhead and love epic fantasy, do yourself a favor and pick up this series. I cannot wait for the next installment!

I have always liked Stephen Lawhead's books since the first time I read the Pendragon Cycle. The way he manages to make the scope of the story feel epic and the world expansive while keeping the audience rooted in the main characters and their immediate interactions is inspiring. The balance between character interaction and descriptive dialogue allows for all types of readers to enjoy- people that focus on dialogue and people that love intense descriptions can find something to appreciate in this book.
