When I read the 2nd in this series, I was worried. I didn't like it as much as I had other books by this wife and husband writing duo. The No Weddings series will remain my favorite always by the pair but I wasn't ready to give up on them all together after one disappointing story. This book more than made up for book 2. I like how all the characters in Bastion's books are interconnected so you always get to check up on old friends. That's one of my favorite things about these books. In this story, we meet Shay and Ben. Two people who seem to be complete opposites but once they let down their walls just a little, they realize that just because you come from different places and have different ideas about wrong and right, it doesn't mean you can't make it work. There's an interesting Robin Hood-esque thing going on in the story and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we meet Trin again someday. All in all, a much better book than #2. 3.5 stars

There’s just pages and pages of inner monologue and I’m not that kind of reader. I was getting bored and I was skipping around. Not my cup of tea. Though, I did power through to the end because I hate to DNF a book. Overall, just meh.

Ben and Shay will steel your heart from the first chapter of the book.. Hot and sweet the perfect combination for any romance. Was very well written and kept the storyline on track and didn't fall into any boring tangents. kept just enough suspense to keep you wanting to read and not put it down. This is my first for this author and I was a little worried at the start by the length, afraid it would get boring however that was not the case Kept me highly entertained and drawn into their world. Highly recommend - excellent read and will definitely go towards more of this author's works.

Found this book to be one that I could not put down until I finished it. The character Shay Morgan is one that at first jumps out at you after she meets and has a verbal sparring with Ben Bishop who is the owner of the Loading Zone. The bar that worked at until he fired her after being back in his bar for just a few minutes. When you think maybe Ben’s character is the one that will pull you in it is actually Shay. She turns out to be the air that gives this book wings and life. You find out that she lives on the streets and she knows how to pick pockets, locks and many other things. Still her character is fascinating, for the reason she is on the streets, for how long and also how she has adapted to live in general. Ben becomes enamored with but first he must somehow get past not just her defense but also her defense of people are aligned because of all she does. Still when you start to believe that Ben is coming around he lets her down and yet even when he does that to her she steps up and does something to help him which still left me scratching my head. It stayed with her character but still that is where to character takes you. A very good book with wonderful characters besides Shay, Ben, there is Kiki, Darren, Cade and Hannah, then Trin and Bear. A very good book that will keep you going until the very end.

I totally enjoyed this wonderful read. A deeply emotional story captured and held my interest. Shay and Ben were a study in contrasts. Ben is powerfully swoon worthy and I found myself with a serious girl crush on Shay. She was so strong and feisty. I enjoyed the sparks that these two generated and their banter. Charm, drama, emotional turmoil and passion are blended into a winning combination that creates a romance that lingers in the mind and heart.

A big thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Kat Bastion and Stone Bastion, for granting me this book in exchange for an honest review.

Shay is our brave, street-smart gal who trusts no one until Ben, a jaded man of privilege, works his way into her heart. Their journey to love is not an easy one but it is well worth the read.

What worked for me:

-the writing was clean and there were no obvious editing errors

-there was a generous thread of hope, perseverance and philanthropy wound throughout the story

What did not work for me:

-I wanted more sex scenes (ie I wanted sex to be more of a focus)

Trigger warning: flashbacks to childhood sexual abuse

I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't click with the Shay nor Ben at all and the storyline bored me. I kept pushing my self to finished the novel but I just couldn't force it no matter how many times I told me self, "This could get better". Not worth the time and energy to complete it. Just not my cup of tea.

The story was disappointing to me, am not sure why, maybe because I have not read the other 2 books, sorry

This book is loaded with passion & heartache. Not to mention the suspense that’s in it. It’s onecof my favorite books. Although this is the 3rd book in the series it can be read as a stand-alone.
I loved the bantering between Shay & Ben. It made the book.this book is about getting through your past to be able to go forward. Can Shay do that? I loved these characters & I’m looking forward to the next book.

Mini Review::::

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. The protagonists were both annoying and I just couldn't relate to them. Also, much of the plot felt plotted (lacked immersion). Often, the characters would do things that didn't feel relevant to their personality/experiences/growth. I'm devastated because I was so looking forward to this one!!

I think this was sometimes suspenseful; I continued to read because there was CONSTANTLY promise for something great to happen/the story to improve. But it never got there for me.

Full review on Goodreads to come!

ARC from NetGalley for Honest Review
I Give this Book a 2.5 (Listing as 2) Star Rating
Heat Level: 2.5/5, Basic Smex Scenes
Romance Level: No Rating, it just wasn’t believable.

In the beginning it felt like one of those times you go to the movies and you come in with your bottle of coke, a big bucket of overly buttered popcorn perfection, while trying to find the best seat in the theater cause it’s crowded, JUST after something important happened. So your not sure if it’s nice to interrupt the person next to you, and ask what you missed.
Yeah, in the beginning I was that confused I’m afraid.
The whole ID scene was confusing to me, him asking her for her ID and her constant refusal was slightly irritating mainly cause since he is her boss, therefore she worked for him, he does have the right to see her ID to confirm her age to work in his place.
Then the aftermath was just plain...soppy?
I mean he said her fired her and then she says “Obviously, you’re not the man I’d heard you were.”
and then it’s like he got socked in the chest because she said that...
I mean your a boss, you never.. clearly NEVER met this ‘employee’ and because she says that after acting suspicious...your heartbroken?
I mean...really? Do you know how to run a business?
Then suddenly she’s depicted as a strong hardened , has ‘rare fire and grit’ girl, all out of a few mins of back talk?
I mean I’m a bit baffled...we’re hitting insta infatuation already?! But we’re still at Chapter 2...

Well...I told myself to ‘just keep reading..just keep reading..just keep reading’
Cause I’m thoroughly intrigued at how this book has a LOT of 5 stars, yet so far not impressed.
The more I read Shay was... to me not a very likable character, I didn’t click with her at all and a lot of her decisions were definitely poorly chosen and she’s frustrating.
Ben is an ok Character, I personally didn’t see anything redeemable to Shay and I’m Confused at how he’s interested in her. This book is more Shay forward and Ben felt like a side character, this is a Long Book yet still feel as if I don’t know Ben we’ll at all.
Ben & Shay are not well suited for each other.
The book overall is slow, mediocre heat level and non believable romance mainly cause Shay just isn’t likable.
Would I read more from this author? Umm...no sure..

Kat and Stone Bastion, you are both stunning geniuses. How I missed reading a book by you both. This is the one book I was looking forward to this year I am sorry that my review has been so delayed. I love this just like I have loved every single installment of this series and I will love the next one. I hope there is more. But enough of that lets get to it. The novel I am reviewing today is Lawbreaker!! If you are looking for a book that is fresh and charming this is so it!!! It’s heartwarming and witty in true Kat and Stone fashion. The warning that is attached to this book is true you will need snacks and drinks because this is an all nightery read in one sitting kind of book. Shay Morgan had to raise herself on the streets, stealing to provide not just for her but for the few she calls her own. And even though trust is not something that comes easily to her, a loving family is what she wants. She’s taken her first baby walking on the right side of the law by working at Loading Zone, where employees are like family. Walks in Ben Bishop after a bad day and say goodbye to Shay’s job and hello to a bad ass chick and a rugged guy and one awesome page turner. Why did Ben Bishop have a bad day well one-word PARENTS. He grew up wanting nothing and having everything while living with a dad who no child would want. I have to say I felt like this was a modern Westside Story and I loved it. Ben spends time trying to find her and after that they spend the entirety of the novel skirting being legal and having fun. I like many readers loved having golf added in this book because every book has something that makes things curious and naughty golf shirts yes please. As their banter continues and you see both sides of these characters you also get to catch up with the characters from the other books which makes me love this even more. I can’t say that Ben Bishop is my favorite of all this series but he is very relatable and makes me think that people with money embrace their humanity and fall in love for people for who they are and not how much money they have. The Romance between Shay and Ben is unique and all their own. It draws you in and makes you believe that love is out there for everyone. Not only did Shay and Ben win each other’s hearts in a week but these authors won me over with this story.

This book was my first by this author and I was blown away. Totally gripped me from the start. I could not put the book down. The blurb honestly doesn’t do the story justice. A fantastic storyline and very well written. I’ll be on the lookout for more work from this author. I stayed up all night (or shall I say wee hours of th morning) to finish it as I just couldn’t bring myself to stop. An epic read. Loved it.

One hundred percent honesty here...

I origsinally stopped and gave this book a chance because of the come hither sexiness of the cover! I mean, seriously, who doesn't want to stop and see what he has to say! (And those of you getting ready to read it, that scene that's being depicted is hot AF. FYI)

Gorgeous cover and smoking hot model aside, Lawbreaker was a feel good book. Huh? I know. You are losing interest but it's a great story. It's serious with a side of sass. It's romantic, definitely but the storyline is so much more. It has a message and one that should definitely be heard by many, many more. It's long though! It needs to be. Lawbreaker is all about building trust and a foundation. Kat and Stone Bastion needed every word in this book to build the story. I'm saying all this because I don't want you getting intimidated or give up.

Learning, growing, and expanding your world view one "accident" at a time.

I am a huge fan of this author. She writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines that are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Well let me start by saying I have become a huge fan of this author. She writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines that are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills

Son of a senator Mason Price had everything he could possibly desire for except the one thing he actually wanted, his parent’s love. He has no desire to continue leading a life without meaning regardless of his parents’ expectations though. Set on facing fears and chasing dreams while riding the world’s waves, he comes across a gorgeous woman determined to bring him back to her island. What he truly finds is a kindred spirit. But can they overcome the racial differences that threaten their blossoming relationship?

Leilani Kealoha sometimes feels like she’s trapped. Trapped by tradition and trapped by circumstance. The only time she feels free is in the water. She loves the pure euphoria of catching a wave and letting it take her away from all of her troubles.

So when her brother asks her to help him recruit Mason Price to represent his custom made sailboards in competition, she has no idea that he will be the one to challenge everything she knows about life and love.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

It was very difficult for me to connect with the story and to keep reading. There was a lot of unnecessary internal dialogue and some sentences did not make sense. I understand this is an ARC, and there's bound to be mistakes, but it was frustrating having to reread some sentences in order to understand what the author meant. Unfortunately I did not find this particular book interesting and it would not be a book I could recommend.

When two people from completely opposite side meet and in an instant there is something more than just a meeting is an unexplainable urge to get to know the other person to the bottom of their souls, to know everything about eachother. A story about finding the one person who shows you that you can trust again to open up and with that giving them the power to hurt you or even better to love you. Both Ben and Shey are likable well-developed characters. What happens to Shay in the past is so sad and it was no wonder that she runs away. The week in which they exchange the side of how the other one live is really interesting passionate and we get to know them even more. Great intense, emotional story.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Really enjoyed this novel. Once I started reading I did not want to put it down until the very last page. I loved the main character Shay, she does what she needs to do to survive. I loved Ben and how he was able to see beyond all of Shay's layers to see the vulnerable person she really is. This is the first novel I have read by these authors but it certainly will not be the last. Loved it!

It's Ben's turn to get a happy ending. When you meet Shay it is kind of hard to see how they would mesh. She grew up on the streets and had no problem breaking the law. He grew up with a father who was a thief so he was stickler for walking the straight and narrow. Once you dig into Shay's personality, you see she is more than just a lawbreaker. She has a big heart and on takes what she needs. She helps other who are down on their luck. Once Ben is introduced to her life he struggles to fully accept her world. When they have their week it was fun and sweet. I love that the author(s) gave the homeless a voice. The Robin Hood theme was an interesting twist for this romance. Great characters and fun dialogue.

Overall Lawbreaker wasn't a bad story. The plot was interesting and the characters were developed quite well. Just a little something off but not sure what.
