This is the third in the All Day Breakfast Cafe mystery series and it continues to improve. While it can be read as a stand alone, the reader will get more out of A Cold Brew Killing if the previous books have been read. Gia is divorced and has come to Boggy Creek, Florida to make a new start by opening a cafe. The group of people she gathers around her become more than friends, they become family. One of those, her friend Trevor, who owns the ice cream parlor called Storm Scoopers. One day Trevor stumbles into Gia's cafe, in shock, mumbling about a body in the freezer. On close inspection there is, indeed, a very dead body on ice. The victim is one of two men running for Mayor. Gia is no detective but when this involves her close friend, she starts listening very carefully to the local gossip to follow the clues that will lead to why Trevor was being framed for murder and what was the motive for murder in the first place. Then her life is put in danger and another body turns up. No way will she stop until the killer is caught. It will lead to age old secrets and relationships both good and bad.
The characters are well drawn and those in Gia's circle are people I wouldn't mind hanging out with. I think my favorite is Cybil - I would like to see more of her and her dog, Caesar. The only small shortcomings, to this reader? A bit too much repeating of details of food prep in the cafe. Reducing it by half and there still would be plenty to set the atmosphere. As for the mystery, it could have been tighter with an ending that did't feel a little weak or abrupt. But those did not decrease my enjoyment of this entry or the series overall. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

One of the men running for Mayor is found dead in her friend's freezer. She knows he didn't do it, but who did?

Lyrical Underground and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It has been published now and you can get a copy now.

I enjoyed the first book in this series so I was looking forward to reading this one. The author did not disappoint me.

Trevor got in trouble as a youth for not managing his temper, so he becomes a suspect in this death. After all, he was in his freezer...

When Gia tries to prove he didn't do it, she finds that some of the folks in town are related and they all have history together. Some of it is not very pleasant. But who would hate him ebnough to kill him?

As she digs, she gets closer. But a killer has already stepped over the line. What's one more death?

There are lots of suspects and plenty of dirt to find. I didn't figure out who the killer was until the end. Were you smarter?

An interesting slow and steady cozy mystery that's a perfect 'wrap yourself up, sip a cup of hot chocolate, rainy day' read. A cast of interesting characters in a small Florida town and a mysterious murder? What more could you want?

A Cold Brew Killing is the fourth novel in Lena Gregory’s All Day Breakfast Cafe series. Cafe owner Gia Morelli is drawn into a murder investigation when her good friend and fellow business owner, Trevor Barnes, finds the body of mayoral candidate Ron Parker in the walk in freezer at his Storm Scoopers ice cream parlor.

This death spurs decades old history regarding the actions of a group of wealthy, entitled boys and their actions during high school. It seems that one of these men is now running against his one time buddy for mayor, that is until his opponent is murdered and a second from their group is also killed.

In a dark mystery involving the present-day topics of date rape drugs and sexual misconduct, as well as the current political climate, Ms. Gregory spins a thoughtful tale which will keep the reader engaged and guessing until the end. I did enjoy this book and do recommend it!

Stand alone – absolutely. This is the third in the series, All-Day Breakfast Café Mystery series.
I usually enjoy books set in Florida. The story was interesting and I was surprised upon reveal.
The series features Gia Morelli who is a New Yorker at heart but has relocated to Florida after a divorce.

Trevor finds a dead body in his freezer so of course Gia is going to help solve & prove he didn’t do it.
What I did like:
The cast of characters – their diversity, the developing relationship between Gia & Savannah.
Lots of twists and turns, leading to a not so easily picked culprit.
What I did not like:
Rush to end the story.

Looking forward to another installment.

Breakfast café owner Gia Morelli finds her good friend, Trevor, is the most likely suspect in the murder of a local mayoral candidate. She is certain of Trevor's innocence but she discovers there is a lot she does not know about him. It seems that secrets from the past have more to do with the murder than the candidate's current political life.

At the beginning of the story it was a bit of a challenge to keep track of the large cast of characters but they proved to be necessary to the story. It did become much easier to keep track of who was who after the initial introductions. I enjoyed how the story unfolded and it had a good flow with everything tying together at the end.

This is the third All-Day Breakfast Café Mystery book. It could be read as a stand alone but it might be easier to keep track the all the characters if you have read at least one of the other two books.

I love the quaint little Florida town. The characters are easy to relate to. There are enough twist and turns to keep readers guessing as to who done it and the storyline flows at a steady pace. I look forward to reading more in this series.

What a lovely cozy mystery! I didn't read the previous instalment but I had no problems in understanding the lovely cast of characters and what was going.
I loved the plot, that kept guessing till the end, as much as the setting and the cast of characters.
The style of writing was very good, the plot is engaging and entertaining.
Recommended!
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC

A Cold Brew Killing by Lena Gregory is the third book in the cozy All-Day Breakfast Café Mystery series. Each book in the series centers around it’s own murder mystery so they could be read and enjoyed as a standalone. However, there is some continuing character development from book to book that may be missed if not starting from the beginning of the series.

The All-Day Breakfast Café Mystery series features Gia Morelli who is a New Yorker at heart but has moved to Florida and opened up her own breakfast cafe after a divorce. Set in a small town many of the locals are returning characters to the books along with a bit of a romantic interest and Gia’s puppy Thor and all have been fun to get to know.

In A Cold Brew Killing Gia is busy working on her new cold brew menu in her cafe when her friend and fellow shop owner Trevor stumbles into the diner mumbling about a dead body in his freezer. When the police point the finger at Trevor as a murder suspect Gia can’t help but again begin to investigate to prove her friend’s innocence.

From the colorful cast of characters with the small town vibe this is a series that I’ve continued to enjoy coming back to book after book. Gia’s about as far from detective as she can be but she knows how to work the small town gossip mill and get her answers. The only thing I’d somewhat complain about is the author tends to focus a bit too much on the diner work, cooking, waiting tables, plating up dishes of delicious breakfast. It doesn’t need to be overly detailed repeatedly but I’m willing to overlook this to enjoy the rest of the mystery.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

A Cold Brew Killing is the third book in Lena Gregory’s All-Day Breakfast Café Mystery series. This is a well-written and steadily paced cozy mystery, with well-developed and affable characters and a touch of romance, and sprinkled with humor. There are lots of twists and turns to keep readers engaged and guessing.

Gia Morelli owns and operates the All-Day Breakfast Café in the small tourist town of Boggy Creek, Florida. The café is doing fairly well, but Gia wants to improve her bottom line, so she’s expanded her menu to include dinners and cold brew coffees, but they haven’t caught on yet. Gia is dating Detective Hunter Quinn, but since his temporary assignment as Captain, hasn’t seen much of him. Her best friend, Savannah Mills’ fiancé, Officer Leo Dumont, is temporarily filling in as a detective. When Mayoral Candidate, Ron Parker’s, body is found in the freezer at Storm Scoopers, an ice cream parlor, the owner and Gia’s friend Trevor Barnes, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Gia doesn’t believe Trevor is a killer, but as she digs into the investigation, she discovers that she doesn’t know much about her friend’s past or even present life. Gia discovers that dark secrets surround Ron, his opponent, Mitchell Anderson, and their group of high school friends and family members.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

This is the third installment in the All-Day Breakfast Café mysteries. Gina learns a lot about the friends and regulars she's surrounded by at the café, so I do recommend reading the first two books in the series first, though this stands alone as a mystery.

A Cold Brew Killing is centered around the local mayor's race and the victim in the ice cream freezer is one of the local candidates, Ron Parker. He turns out to be a high school acquaintance of Trevor's and others in their former circle are also involved in the local elections and back for a high school reunion. There's no shortage of suspects and the surprises keep coming. It makes the review challenging to write because I don't want to spoil anything that Gia learns in the book. It's very well done that we learn more about certain characters at this point, after the first two books learning about the area and Gia getting settled.

For those Gia and Hunter fans, they've definitely settled into a relationship but there's not much to see in this book. Gia and Savannah try to go on vacation, but murder keeps getting in the way.

A Cold Brew Killing is an enjoyable mystery and the strongest of the series so far. I look forward to what comes next.

Surely gossipy, friendly, fun Trevor is not a murderer! Why do the police suspect him when he finds a body in his ice cream freezer? Gia, his friend and amateur sleuth, rallies her friends (against the advice of her beau Hunt, the acting police chief) to find the real killer. There's a limited pool of suspects in this small Florida town but that doesn't make this any less enjoyable or surprising. Thanks to net galley for the ARC. This is part of a series but you'll enjoy it even as a standalone.

The mystery in the latest offering by Lena Gregory in her All-Day Breakfast Mystery series was immediately gripping when Trevor announced there was a body in his ice cream shop freezer. I am totally invested in all the characters of this series, and 'A Cold Brew Killing' explained a lot of background for what has gone on in the town. I like that Gia has insecurities that she is overcoming, and how this expertly plays into the overall story line. There is tension, and positiveness and family. I highly recommend it, and the entire series.

A cold brew killing .
Another great read by Lena Gregory.
When friend Trevor is accused of murder Gia and her best friend Savannah help to solve the mystery knowing he's not guilty.
It's not all that it seams secrets of School days are exposed that have been hidden.
I have enjoyed this book and would recommend this series.

A Cold Brew Killing is the third installment in the All-Day Breakfast Cafe Mystery series set in Boggy Creek, Florida featuring Cafe owner Gia Morelli. Business is picking up and thanks to best friend Savannah, waitress Willow and cook Cole, Gia is anxious to expand her menu to include dinners and specialty cold brew coffees.

Gia is stunned when good friend and ice cream shop owner, Trevor staggers into the cafe claiming that there is a dead body in his freezer. The body belongs to mayoral candidate Ron Parker, and it's no secret that he and Trevor didn't get along. Unfortunately, Gia's boyfriend Acting Police Captain Hunt Quinn has no choice but to take Trevor into custody. Desperate to save her friend, Gia sets out with the help of Savannah, faithful customer Earl and her trusty sidekick, the adorable Bernese Mountain dog puppy, Thor to track down a killer.

Gia soon discovers that there are dark secrets surrounding Ron, his opponent Mitchell Anderson and their long ago high school clique. The deeper she digs the more dangerous the killer becomes and after narrowly escaping a fatal gunshot, Gia is determined to prove Trevor's innocence.

A tasty plot that will keep your interest from the first page. The author has done a terrific job with character development since the first in the series and this installment will feel like catching up with old friends. A new romance seems to be on the horizon so I'll definitely be looking for the next in the series.

I received an advanced copy of A Brew Killing from NetGalley via Lyrical Underground, a division of Kensington Publishing. While not required to write a review I am more than happy to offer my honest opinion.

I somehow missed the first two books in this series, but I am going to rectify that!
This was a great book. I found the characters interesting and the secrets from the past helped make this a really well written whodunit.
I highly recommend this book.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I love how the characters are coming along as the series progresses. The mystery was well written and complex, but the story still has a small town cozy feel. A wonderful read!

I read the first two books in this series first even though it wasn't really necessary. This book works well as a stand alone, also. This was a great book. Very entertaining. Great cast of characters, good subplots. Excited to see where the next book in the series will take the gang.
