Although the main focus is on online transactions and shopping in general, most of the book offers very useful information about how to use the internet securely. It covers a variety of threats and solutions to counter them, not only with tips, but also with technical approaches and software. The level of knowledge is basic to medium, and even without an advanced knowledge in the field of computer security you will succeed to understand the basic messages and follow most of the steps requested for safe transactions and security online.
The public is both the user and the provider of online shopping experiences. It is recommended to anyone curious to learn more about safe internet and how to avoid being the victim of various online attacks.
The book is not necessarily well organised, with a general structure that leave place for a better format, and the information repeat several times, but it helps to keep in mind the main messages.

This is a definitive book on using the internet safely that everyone must read. After receiving this book as a ARC I poured over it using it as a guide to make changes in my internet use. It is invaluable and i highly recommend everyone go out and buy a copy asap and read it before you do any further online transactions.

The author outlines the following safety practices . As your read through the chapters individually you will find yourself making notes and more importantly making changes to your computer use. This book will scare you and it should as to many of us are dependent on online transactions without proper security in place to protect ourselves, our privacy and our transactions.

The early pioneer days of the internet did not have the foresight at the time to predict the malicious attacks that would eventually become a part of our everyday browsing experience. Such is the nature of the beast.

Even though the operating systems and virus protection software has improved over the years, the bad guys are always finding ways to build a better mousetrap. It behooves us, therefore, to always remain alert to our online presence.

For security's sake, countless suggestions and tips were provided to allow for a safer online experience. I might suggest that this book be used as a wake-up call for every time we take an excursion into the cyber world. Thanks to the efforts of Mark Millery, this well-written easy-to-follow tutorial comes heartily recommended.

Mark Millery does a nice job of explaining the different hazards awaiting internet users who do not protect themselves and their data. He provides lots of practical information in an easy to understand way. This is a keeper to refer to now and then as questions arise or just for a refresher.
