Uncontrollable by Nina Croft is her third book in her Beyond Human series. I've read the previous books and was excited to see that the final one was available but I have a feeling that the ending sort of left it open to a next book? That being said I'd give Uncontrollable a 4.2 star rating as I thought the middle dragged a little.

Melody Lyons finds a time anomaly and asks to investigate it even though its her first time and she has to convince her father to let her go back 2,000 years ago. But what she finds is a group of Tele-paths who are the future of the Tribe breaking out their leader Martin while Mel is trying to find out who killed the Conclave. To convince Quinn she has to fib and say she's with the FBI but when he decides to take her with them little does she know that something she has leads the rogue agents towards them. Will she be able to keep the ruse up when they are attacked and no one believes her anymore? I loved Kaitlin's way of coping with a fractured leg, as well as when she takes Quinn to meet her father who's not exactly human.

Quinn Sutherland knows that being second in command and with all seven Conclave members gone that he'll need to step up and rescue Martin but he doesn't expect to meet Melody whose mind he can't read or that he'll need to take her on the run with them. But when their plane is shot down they go on the run from unknown people wanting to completely kill everyone. But when he finds out that Mel's from the future will he let her go home alone or will he become the astronaut that he's always wanted to be?

As I mentioned the ending left you with a sense that perhaps this isn't the last book but we'll have to wait and see.

This is the first book I have read series and I loved it. Although I think it would have been better had I read the previous two books, I was still able to follow the plot.

Quinn Sutherland, is second in command of the Tribe, a group of powerful telepaths. While on a rescue mission, he meets FBI agent, Melody Lyons. Together the evade gunmen sent to kill them and uncover a plot to destroy the earth.

This book has everything, romance, intrigue, drama, time travel and even aliens. If you like Star Trek then you will enjoy this.

I was sent this ARC compliments of. NetGalley. All views are my own.

Quinn and the others have finally tracked down Martin. After being off the grid in custody for 4 years, they have his location and they are busting him out! He did not factor in an FBI agent being with him when they escape.

Melody is thankful that her enhancement means that Quinn and the others of The Tribe can't read her. She's not too sure how they would take the news that she is from 2000 years in the future! She is out to trace a time anomaly and rectify the time continuum but her burgeoning attraction to Quinn and the general likeability of the Tribe is starting to affect her judgement.

There is less about the Conclave this time around, the action being based mostly in the future and present. I rather enjoyed the little break from the norm and enjoyed learning about what has happened to the world. I’m a bit annoyed that Melody seemed to want openness and honesty from Quinn, whilst keeping her own secrets. but then Quinn was also keeping information back, but that was mostly because he couldn't read her and therefore could not instantly trust her.

There is no cut and dried conclusion as such so I see this book as more of a bridge within the story than a stand alone read. Totally loving the way Kaitlin delights in finding new and increasingly hilarious ways of sending Kane over the edge! I'm so looking forward to what is to come from them!

This third instalment mixes paranormal and sci fi with a bang . Those who we know as the Tribe and their descendants have always felt more than human and throughout the previous books there’s been hints of anomalies that could connect to the future. Well this time the author stops teasing her readers and goes all out with explanations because our heroine is from the future and is sent back to present day America where it seems there’s something very futuristic and dangerous hidden !
As usual in this series there’s quite an ensemble cast of characters to flesh out the story and that’s where most of the humour throughout this book comes from. There’s less about the Conclave ( bad guys ) here with emphasis on future events and how meddling with time can have cataclysmic results. Quinn is trying to reunite those he cares about with the original Tribe when into his world drops FBI agent Melody . Melody might appear to want justice for those who have been systematically murdered by the Conclave but she isn’t exactly telling Quinn the truth . Melody is in fact from two thousand years in the future and her mission is to make sure nothing changes the truly horrific events that are about to come !
I’ve read a series by this author before that played with the idea of time travel and I must confess I enjoy her concept . Plus here we get an interesting story paired with a romance and lots of action. So why four not five ? I’m not sure what was missing for me if I’m honest and perhaps it’s the almost instant love that never really appeals to me. There’s lots going on and yet at times I just wanted more but perhaps that’s because I enjoy this authors work so much and always have high expectations. I can say there’s a resolution for this couple but the ending leaves the way open for more and I’m so hoping at some point to read much more about the wonderfully irreverent Kaitlin and the controlling Kane .
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Third in the Beyond Human Series. Nina Croft has created a time travel world that leave the Earth 95% destroyed in the year 2020. Melody Lyons is an agent with the Federation’s elite Bureau of Time Management in the year 4012 stationed on a space ship. Melody is a time jumper with an agency who is tasked with traveling back two thousand years to find out how the 2020 disaster was caused. A great adventure is told that lead Melody to experience things that are no longer done in her time. She finds the taste of food, a group of Psychic mind reading people, and Love in the arms of Quinn who is one of them. Read in one sitting. I have not read the prior ones in this series but still did not feel lost and still experienced amazing characters. "Uncontrollable" was an interesting sci-fi/romance that follows Melody (from the year 4012) and Quinn (from the present). Melody is an agent for the Federal Bureau of Time Management, established after time travel was invented and subsequently outlawed. They scan for anomalies in time and go back to set them right so that history can carry on as it should have. They have recently developed the capability to scan back in time up to a couple thousand years and detected an anomaly around the time of the Cataclysm, which destroyed 95% of Earth's population (though no one knows exactly what happened as the records have been lost to time, they know it occurs in 2020).

Melody (Mel) is following the clues when they lead her to Martin- just as he is being broken free from jail by Quinn and other telepaths. Although they know when people are wearing a device that prevents them from entering others' minds (it's highly visible if you know where to look), they are unable to see the device on Mel but unable to read her mind. They just have to trust her and her badge when she says she is part of the FBI and on their side. Quinn finds himself more than ready to trust her because he is also instantly attracted to her (a pretty heavy dose of insta-love here).

As they follow down the clues and must constantly evade being killed or captured, Mel and Quinn also find time for a little romance. Despite the insta-love, their relationship really grows over time, and things seem to happen relatively slowly (despite all the action sequences!). This fast-paced book really drew me in and kept me engaged with the interesting sci-fi elements. I didn't realize this is the third in a series, but you do feel a little thrust into the information, if like me you start with this book- however, things are explained throughout, and I felt like I had enough knowledge about the world and the characters midway through the book.

Overall, this was a really fascinating book and I enjoyed following Quinn and Mel's story. This was more of an action/sci-fi story with some insta-love and romance, but I enjoyed it anyway. I definitely want to read more from this series! I do wish the romance had been a little less instant and had a slower grow/burn, but by halfway, I felt that they were also getting to know each other better. I will also say that everything is not resolved by the end of the book, and it was a little bit of a cliffhanger- I would love to have the next book now! I highly recommend to people who like action/thriller with a hint of romance.

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

LOVED this book! This is the third book in the series and it might be the best one yet. While prior books have mentioned a time machine, this one jumps right into the concept and how time can fold over itself an ripples can create unimaginable horrors.

Quinn and his group rescue Martin from the prison he was being held in, however, an FBI agent, Melody, is interviewing him. She's detected an anomaly that she needs to investigate, and Martin is key to that investigation, however, she's not really an FBI agent.

This is an engrossing novel that has a complex plot filled with depth and more twists and turns that can be imagined. While technically a stand alone novel, you really need to read the first two books to appreciate it. Additionally, it ends on a bit of a tease or cliffhanger, depending on your perspective. The significant plot elements are resolved, however, the ending sets it up for the next book in the series. Regardless, this is well worth the read.

I am not generally a sy-fy fan, but I love this series. Fans of romance and/or sy-fy will want to put this at the top of their TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Boy!! Was there a lot going on in this story. It is a very interesting, if sometimes very confusing premiss, I know I will be locking out for more in the series to see how things end up.
