In general I enjoyed this book and was not sure what to expect when I started it! I loved the contemporary (and steamy) romance moments from this book and it was the perfect read for February! Jake was my favorite character and I’m excited to see where the next book goes!

I. Loved. This. Book!! This author was new to me, and this story sounded unique, so I jumped in...best decision ever. I am now in love with a new author. This story was cute and quirky and absolutely hilarious. I laughed so hard, my husband banned me from reading in bed...again. I highly recommend this adorable book to everyone I know. I’ll definitely be talking about this story for a long while. The characters are fun, but also relatable, and the story is fast paced and entertaining. Each twist and turn was unpredictable and exciting. I couldn’t put this book down. Who needs sleep when you get to read a book this amazing?!

Crazy Cupid Love is a humorous upbeat contemporary romance with a bit of Greek mythology thrown in.
The main character Eliza Herman comes from a family of Erosians, descendants of Ancient Greek God of Love, who run a slightly old-fashioned matchmaking business. Eliza, however, is a bit of a black sheep in her family- she is clumsy and prone to accidentally enchanting senior citizens, and, worst of all, she does not really believe in love. When her father suddenly falls ill, she finds out her parents’ Cupid agency is in financial trouble. Eliza is keen to stand in, but she needs to get a temporary licence even to answer phones- Cupid business is heavily regulated by A.S.S. (Affection, Seduction and Shellfish department). In order to get that, she needs a mentor who would supervise her first enchantments. Enter Jack Sanders, her childhood BFF and lifelong crush, who has somehow turned into one of the sexiest men alive. The chemistry between the two main characters is amazing, and is one of the best features of this novel. Eliza’s first three cases go really well and she begins to feel she can make her parents proud. Then, things go pear-shaped and it is up to our heroes to help the hapless couples and save the world. I must admit, I did not see the twist and did not guess the villain until the very last moment, which made it even more enjoyable for me.
I loved the humour, the banter, Eliza’s incredible predicaments, the Nereid night and, of course, Ron deserves a special mention.
If you are looking for something light-hearted and romantic at the same time, go for this book, it won’t disappoint you.
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

This book was really cute. I loved the main characters. Since it's the first in a series, I wish there had been more world building. The romance was almost too cutesy and drama free but sometimes a truly angst-free read is good for the soul. I will be looking forward to continuing the series.

There are so many tongue in cheek jokes in this book that had me laughing. I could totally see this as a movie, it would be exactly the type of rom-coms I enjoy watching. I made a ton of notes, but most would be mild spoilers. So I’ll just say any story with a character who named her orange car Rom Weasley, references Supermarket Sweep, and Dunk-a-Roos is okay in my book!

There is a tiny bit of action toward the end of the book that lost me a little bit and felt a little long. But that being said, it doesn’t stop me from wanting to read the next book in this series when it comes out. Crazy Cupid Love was a 3.75 star for me. I recommend checking this one out if you want a funny romance with a mythological twist!

This sounded like it would be a cute and funny read. Sadly, it wasn’t. If you like lots of family drama, including a really annoying twin brother and a mother who clearly hates her daughter, then maybe you’ll like this.

It’ll also help if you don’t mind your heroine acting pretty immature for her age and have a love of in-depth legalese discussions about the minutia of rules and regulations. So many rules and regulations. So many discussions.

Alas, none of those are on my Must Read lists, so I’ll pass on this one.

This was so cute!! I Capital-L Loved it! ;)

Eliza is a klutz, which is especially unfortunate because she is a Cupid, and Cupids enchant by inflicting an amount of pain. She's had her share of drama and that grew resentment that turned her into a cynic.

Enter Jake. He is also a Cupid, and also Eliza's childhiid beat friend and crush. He was great now, but age has only improved him, in all ways. She ends up "stuck" with him, which is a hardship in really the best of ways.

This story has a bit of everything and is, well, enchanting from the very beginning. It's FUNNY, and it's sweet, and not lacking in some sexy spice either. I really Loved the world built and the lore was fantastic. There was also mystery to this, then a bit of thrill as everything comes to a head.

It's really a wonderful supernatural romantic comedy, and I highly recommend it! I would enjoy it anytime, but it's the perfect Valentine's Day read.

I loved this book! Amanda Heger did an amazing job weaving this story together. I had read what I thought was a similar book right before this one so I thought I knew what I was getting into, but I was pleasantly surprised! Basically, Eliza, who is a descendant of Eros, fills in at her family's cupid-for-hire shop after a family crisis. Eliza begins enchanting couples under the watchful eye of her mentor Jake who she accidentally enchants instead.

Jake and Eliza were very cute together and I liked that there were some chapters that were from his point of view. I think it really added to the story. I thought the characters were well thought out and the storyline is well written. There is a lot of humour in the book which I really enjoyed. It was a fun romantic comedy that I would recommend to anyone that likes paranormal/mythological romances. If you don't like that kind of book than this one is not for you.

Let's Get Mythical #1, I was real excited to read this. With RT Books Review calling it "Percy Jackson for Romance Fans." I was expecting a slightly more Urban Fantasy-esk/Rom-Com rather than just a Rom-Com with Mythological tendencies. It was a nice read, the first half was a slow build up of the story, establishing characters, backstories, and setting up of the conflict. It also set up the romantic connection between Eliza and Jake.

Eliza and Jake have known each other since they were kids but as soon as they hit puberty they became aware of each other in terms of boy and girl. Eliza out of fear of rejection distanced herself from Jake and Jake not knowing what else to do let it happen. They went their separate ways until now. Eliza has always been a klutz, that wouldn't be a big deal if she wasn't a Descendant of Eros, as a cupid any minor injury she inflicts on someone causes a love charm. She gave up on being a good cupid early one especially when she failed spectacularly when trying to get her cupid license. But her father just had another major heart attack and her mother has been suspended and her brother has a conference he has to go to. That leaves Eliza to pick up the slack that means getting her provisional license and that means she needs a mentor, that's where Jake comes in.

Jake has always loved Eliza, his time in the Cupid Corp gave him time away from her to get his head on straight but as soon as he got back it was like he never went away. If only she hadn't accidentally hit him with an enchantment now Eliza is confused that Jake is only acting this way because of it or if he really likes her. If falling in love with your mentor isn't troubling enough Eliza's enchantments start to backfire and pretty soon it's not just her license on the line it's her parents reputation and worse case scenario all of mythical-kind.

Overall, it had a much better finish than a start. Things started to pick up at the halfway point it has a really good climatic finish and a fun epilogue. I am curious about where she's going to go with the next book, she put in lots of fun mythological creatures to pick from. (it will probably be Eliza's twin brother, Elijah)

I hope I can put into words with this review how much I thoroughly enjoyed Crazy Cupid Love by Amanda Heger!
I didn’t really know what to expect going into Crazy Cupid Love, as this was a new author for me. I had read the synopsis and thought it sounded cutesy and hoped for an enjoyable light read. However – let me tell you – this book was so beyond anything I could have hoped for!

It was not only cutesy and fun but it was outrageously laugh-out-loud hilarious! A book that can literally make me almost pee in my pants (several times) is rare but absolutely becomes a beloved gem that I always remember to come back and do a re-read when I need a pick-me-up.

The situations our heroine, Eliza, gets herself into are out of this world and so hysterical. After giving up on being a cupid (you’ll have to read the book to get the full picture of what being a cupid entails) at a very young age and naming herself “World’s Worst Cupid ™”, she suddenly finds herself being thrown into trying to help save her family’s cupid business with the help of her childhood crush, Jake, our hero.

Not only was it rich in comedy but it also had heart. The storyline between Eliza and Jake was delicious and captivating. I’m so glad Amanda Heger offers us a little bit of Jake’s point-of-view so that we can get the full effect of all the heartwarming romance between the two characters.

The story, the characters, the whole thing – ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Crazy Cupid Love was so incredibly well written that I can not WAIT for another book from Amanda Heger!

This was so disappointing! I loved the premise of gods among us with the focus on Cupids who can help lovers find one another. Alas, it did not live up to the premise for me. Or the marketing, for that matter. Your mileage may vary.

I decided to DNF this about 90 pages from the end as the side characters were more over the top than I could handle. Why is everyone but Jake and her dad so mean to her?! And why does she keep taking it?!) It also felt like the book was mocking Eliza’s clients at times. The clients were so over the top, so unbelievable. I didn't like the way the story addressed the Mandroids (sex robot dolls)—the author may have been going for laughs but it painted the owners as pathetic and very much shamed them. Look, I might not want to own a Mandroid but if you're going to introduce that element, you need to do it with compassion and nuance. The story also seemed to be veering into "technology is the root of all evil" territory and I just wasn't interested in that additional story arc.

Once the love story was resolved about halfway through, I was stumped as to how there was so much book left. I really hoped it would live up to the premise but I didn’t have the patience for it to get there.

Such a funny story! I have never read a Cupid greek myth retelling and Eliza's one has definitely become a favorite! I loved the twist on the Cupid legend and how a single injury in Eliza's case has more power than the bow and arrow. I don't want to spoil it but I REALLY ENJOYED THIS! So grab this now!

Crazy Cupid Love is kind of an odd book. Seriously, my first thought when I finished it was, "That was odd." But I don't mean that in a bad way, just that it's hard to categorize. The cover blurb mentions Percy Jackson, which is not the right vibe at all. Really the only similarity is that they both involve mythology.

Amanda Heger has a unique take on how the gods might play a role in the modern world. Today's Cupids, like Eliza and her family, are descended from Eros and inherit some of his powers. They are out to public and often run matchmaking businesses. (There's some commentary there on online dating and the commodification of love, but I feel like it gets muddled.)

Descendants of the other gods are not out and many of them look down on the Cupids. But they have a whole secret Descendant community that’s quite fascinating. We meet nymphs, furies, satyrs and a few others over the course of the story. I hope that the next book in the series will feature one of these other groups so we can learn more about them.

Often this book is just over-the-top silly. Eliza's lack of coordination leads to lots of slapstick humor and there's a lifesize sex robot called a Mandroid. Wait til you see its gaming features! All that silliness might overshadow the fact that there’s a sweet friends to lovers story with a charming beta hero. There’s even a mystery to solve, though it doesn’t show up until the last third of the book.

I enjoyed Crazy Cupid Love though I think it’s something you have to be in the mood for. If an adult rom com with a supernatural twist is what you’re craving, give it a shot.

I had such fun with “Crazy Cupid Love” that it should be illegal. In a world where the paranormal isn’t unusual, where deities (at least some) are out in the open interacting with the humans around them, this story was a fun treat.

“Crazy Cupid Love” intertwines paranormal, romance, rom-com, friends to lovers trope and a mystery to solve in a unique fashion. If there were moments when the actions seemed younger than the characters I put it down to the enchantments going on – I don’t know if I’m correct in that but it’s how I saw some actions of both Eliza and Jake. There are several storylines going on, but they blended well for me.

I enjoyed myself, and really that’s the whole point. Now I’m going to be watching for the next story in the ‘Let’s Get Mythical’ series.

This story was so much fun to read, it was creative, very entertaining and funny. I loved the heroine, Eliza, she showed you can overcome your fears if you believe in yourself and trust that people also have faith and believe in you. She and Jake had great chemistry and I adored them. 4.5/5

I capital-L Loved this book! Every time I picked up my kindle in public, people would look at me like I was crazy because every few pages I would be laughing out loud. CRAZY CUPID LOVE is amusing, emotionally romantic with the perfect amount of steam, and an absolute blast to read.

The plot follows a klutzy failed Cupid named Eliza as she tries to figure out how to save her family and not fall for her former best friend turned Cupid mentor, Jake. If that sounds a little bizarre, that’s because it is, in the best way. Greek mythology and Cupids are living among us in this book, and I am here for it.

The absolute best parts of this story are the banter, Eliza’s inner dialogue, and the crazy predicaments she finds herself in. Fans of Jennifer Cruise and Katie MacAlister will enjoy this story. Eliza struck the perfect balance between sarcastic and slightly jaded without being cruel or annoying.

I will say, it took me a while to get into this book. The last 3/4 is vastly better than the first 1/4. But believe me, it’s worth all the background information and plot set up. Once you sink into Ms. Heger’s whimsical and hilarious story, you won’t want to put this book down.

Overall, I thought this plot was a breath of fresh air and beautifully executed. I can’t wait for the next book. I have no idea where Ms. Heger is taking us with this series, but I’m sure wherever she chooses there will be lots of laughs along the way!

I was really excited about reading this one, because from the description, it seemed right up my alley. I tried to read it a couple times, but I just couldn’t get through it. I was confused from the get-go because you’re just dumped into the world with no explanation as to what’s going on. I was really confused, and the plot just seemed like it was never going to start. I’ll probably try to read it again, but for right now...this just wasn’t my book.

This was such a creative concept with a great execution! I normally have trouble getting into stories with a mythical/magical premise, but this one had me hooked from the start, so I'd absolutely recommend that other contemporary romance fans give it a try. Eliza is a heroine who you really root for, and the little bits of Jake's perspective interspersed throughout give readers just enough of him to fall in love with. This book was funny, swoony, and totally delightful. I'm looking forward to Heger's future books!

I could not put this book down!
Now I will be honest, I am not into magical themed books, however I kept an open mind and thank god I did because I LOVED IT!
Eliza, along with her parents are cupids. Yes, cupids - using their powers to make people fall in love. Jake is Eliza childhood "hot" best friend. The banter and chemistry between these two are off the chart.
While Eliza's father is recovering in hospital after a heart attack, Eliza learns their family business is suffering financially. Eliza steps ups to help the store. However in order to do this, she needs to apply for a provisional cupid license. The requirement to get a license is as follows - get a mentor and make enchantments on couples, Jake volunteers to help her out. While on her first enchantment under the supervision of Jake, Everything was going extremely well, then ooppss she accidentally enchants Jake.
This book is not what I expected at all and I loved it.
From the book cover, the writing, especially having Jake's POV, I loved every minute of it.
Would highly recommend

Such a fun story!

I've heard this book billed as "Percy Jackson for romance fans," which is true, but I think an even more accurate description would be a Half-Moon Hollow-type town peopled with the descendants of Greek gods. Like in Molly Harper's books, there's a whole supernatural world going on right under humanity's nose, except for the one group that's been "outed"--in this case, though, it's descendants of Eros--Cupids--instead of vampires. They've made a nice little niche for themselves as a kind of matchmakers, but of course there are all kinds of rules about what they can and cannot do and how, and I'm sure it's not a coincidence that the body that regulates them is the Department of Affection, Seduction, and Shellfish (because of that food's rumored aphrodisiac properties--a myth, according to Eliza) gets abbreviated here as A.S.S. ;)

Eliza's not a part of her family's Cupid business--because, well, she has issues. Most people with her abilities need to draw blood (often a small pin prick, though they still use the more traditional bow and arrows too) to be effective, but Eliza can inspire a 30-day lovefest with something as small as an oversized candy bar falling on one's foot. You'd think this would be a bonus, yes? Less pain, more gain? Sure, except that Eliza's also extremely clumsy (so many LOL moments revealed throughout the book when she accidentally helped others to find love--she's not laughing, but I was) and that fact combined with a childhood birthday catastrophe have lead her to try and find another career path: temping. (This also doesn't go well, because of the aforementioned clumsiness.) A family emergency brings her back to the family business, though, and she's determined to make her family proud.

It doesn't hurt that her former childhood BFF is back in town, believes in her and offers to help, and is now a complete and total hottie, either. Except for that one time that Eliza accidentally works her love mojo on Jake (a shame, because she is really, really attracted to him and he's just under an enchantment, right...?) things appear to be going...well, pretty well in the Cupid-ing department.

Until they're not. At all. And it's up to Eliza to figure out what's going on--with the help of Jake and Ron Weasley, her trusty orange '04 Mustang--before the love lives of her clients and her family's business are completely destroyed. Can she do it?

(Of course she can. The better question might be will Ron Weasley survive the attempt...? You'll have to read the book to find out.)

I can't wait to see what Ms. Heger has in store for us in the next book in this (what I hope will be a nice long) series!
