Suspense fans who want a fast paced plot line, loveable characters, and a sweet romance will devour Tell Her No Lies. Kelly Irvin has a spot of my favorites list of suspense authors!

This was my first Kelly Irvin book to read but it is most certainly not my last! I fell in love with her writing! This book keeps the mystery going until the very end! Usually I can figure out who did it, but this book kept me guessing! And it was nice and long! I have a love hate issue with books that are really good but short. You want to finish them to find out what happened but you don't want it to end!

Tell Her No Lies is the first romantic suspense book from Kelly Irvin, who is known for her Amish fiction books. With a captivating cover, book description, and start to the story, this book was full of promise and high expectations.

Having read a few books from Irvin, I was excited to see her writing a suspense book, and I couldn't wait to get a copy of it. The description had me hooked, and the start of the story immediately grabbed my attention.

Unfortunately, my initial hype began to fade shortly into the story as I struggled to connect with the characters the way I would have liked. It wasn't that the story was bad; it was still interesting, just not as good as my initial hype had set my expectations for. For me, this was a nice start to the series, and I'm excited to see, now that the author has the first book in a different genre down, what the next book holds.

Action packed suspense novel.
Fast paced, full of murder, shooting, and terror.
It was a bit graphic in some instances, for my personal preference.
I liked the fact that the author kept me guessing the whole way through the book.
Twists and turns. Lots of 'bad guys', but who is the real one?!
Danger lurks on every page!

This was soooo good! I loved everything about it! There’s lots of action and plot twists, Nina is a strong mc who grew up with a rough childhood but that didn’t bring her down. Definitely go check this one out!

Tell Her No Lies by Kelly Irvin is a phenomenal work of suspense. The action in this book never stops, just like the lies keep surfacing throughout it. Nina finds her father dead and stands accused of his murder. But in her idyllic, rich family, nothing is what it seems. I read a lot of suspense and I have to tell you that this is one of the best suspense novels I have read. It captivated my attention from the start. I read it pretty quickly— I just couldn’t stop! I absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves suspense. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Nina Fischer has trust issues stemming from a rough childhood, and with the murder of the uncle who took her and her sister in and the reappearance of her mother, the secrets that begin to come out will make her question everything she thought she knew. And while the reader may think they know who she should trust, and want to shout at her not to trust others, this well plotted but more sedately paced story of suspense throws twists and more than one dead body in the way.

Kelly Irvin's Amish fiction is enjoyable, but if her debut in a new sub-genre is anything to go on, her Romantic Suspense might be even better. With an intriguing premise and characters that will hold the reader's interest, Tell Her No Lies blends murder, betrayal, and mortal danger into a story of healing, faith, and a blossoming love.

Recommended for fans of Romantic Suspense with a faith element.

Oh my what a bang bang and bang!!
The author has hit home in some of my feelings and yes I was even homeless for a while but God has seen me through.
I can relate to Nina in so many ways and I felt the same shock she did!!
Even tho she had a real mom to me, the person who raised you is ur real parents. I adopted and I lived my mom for it.
I stayed up late into the night to finish this book because I wanted to se what happens next!!
I think that this is Kelly's best novel yet!!
I enjoyed the mystery, plot and I especially loved how I could connect with Nina.
Alex was a great supporter. I don't think Nina could ask for a better friend than that. I wished I had a best friend that lived close by. But I've learned since not to trust people.
I know that God did it for reasons I cannot understand but I'm so glad He's always there for me, for us and most of all anyone who calls on Him
For God doesn't do is wrong it's people who do us wrong. Yes it took me awhile to understand!! But now I'm so glad I do
Nina had an amazing sister too through thick and thin. I missed out on that too while growing up
I admired Jan in many ways as well.
I liked her almost as much as Nina.
I hope to see these two girls in more future books by Kelly Irvin

This was my first book by Kelly Irvin that wasn't an Amish story and WOW, was I impressed.  While I couldn't even begin to imagine how she would transition from being the Amish author that I've come to know to being a mystery/suspense writer, but I read some of the other advanced reviews and knew I would have to check it out.

Nina Fischer lives life through the eye of her camera.  She is up late listening to music while she does work in the dark-room in her third floor apartment in her family's home.  She's the only other person home when one night she gets hungry and heads downstairs to get a snack in the kitchen only to hear a noise in her father's study.  When she heads in, she finds his body laying on the floor, calls the police and starts CPR. Nina instantly becomes a suspect in this and possibly two other murders as well.

I'm not going to write a spoiler here, but I'm going to say the book is packed full of suspense, twists and turns.  The characters are very well developed and I'll admit I didn't know who did it until the very end. I loved how the romance in this story wasn't like one of those Hallmark love stories, all predictable and mushy (not that there's anything wrong with that, but just not in a suspense story), but overall, I loved the way the romance worked in this story.

I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good clean romantic suspense story. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of this type of book from Ms. Irvin!

Tell Her No Lies was overall an enjoyable book but at times a little slow.

Nina Fischer is a photographer with a lot of baggage. Struggling to trust her friends, family, and even God, she tries to find the truth of her father's murder while trying to forgive the people in her past.

Aaron McClure is one of Nina's friends and has been in love with her from when they first met in college. He helps her find the killer while trying to convince her she can trust the people in her life and in God again.

The writer did a good job at describing the struggles that homeless people go through and encourages the reader to be more involved with helping in his/her local homeless shelters.

I recommend this book for ages 13 and up for slight (non-graphic) violence and contains no sexual content or inappropriate language.

Let’s face it, there are some books that just do not translate well to audiobook. Tell Her No Lies falls into that category mostly because of its many points of view and revolving characters. I had some difficulty keeping track of whose head I was supposed to be in a few times.

I loved Aaron, the guy who is steady and always there for Nina. I felt for him and his frustration with Nick (who definitely fit into the selfish jerk—and more—category). I never quite connected with Nina, who is the main focus of the book, though I wanted to.

While the suspense was a little bumpy and there were some intense moments, the scenes in between sometimes dragged. Yet overall, as a first romantic suspense from Kelly Irvin (who is best known for her Amish fiction), this is a decent story with some weaknesses but nothing that will prevent me from checking out what she produces next in this new-to-her genre.

Nina Fischer and her sister were adopted by her uncle after their deadbeat mother abandoned them as children. Now she’s an adult and an aspiring photographer … and a person of interest when her uncle is murdered in his study in the wee hours of the morning and she’s the only other person in the house.

It’s a great start to an excellent murder mystery.
We know Nina wasn’t the culprit, as she was on the telephone to her not-boyfriend at the time (hey, this is important. I’ve recently read a romantic suspense where the hero said he didn’t do it, but I didn’t know whether to believe him or not).

There is also the tension between Nina and the two men who are interested in her: Rick Zavala, the poor boy turned rising young lawyer, and Aaron McClure, a photojournalist with his own reasons for following her case.

This is the first novel I’ve read from Kelly Irvin, because her previous novels have all been Amish romance—not a genre I read. Tell Me No Lies has the distinction of being one of the few novels I’ve read from an Amish fiction author I’ve actually enjoyed (along with Vanetta Chapman and Shelley Shepherd Grey). The others have been lacking in research rigour, writing craft, or both.

I hope this isn’t Kelly Irvin’s only foray outside Amish fiction, as I’d like to read more of her writing.
The plot has plenty of twists and turns and red herrings. The writing is funny and smart, as were the characters. There’s plenty of suspense, a sweet romance, and a solid Christian thread. All in all, Tell Her No Lies is a great read.

Recommended for fans of Christian thrillers and romantic suspense from authors such as Robyn Caroll, Lisa Harris, and Diann Mills.

This was a perfect read between my thrillers which had me forgetting realities of life. I didn't even analyse the book. I just went with the flow.
Nina moved back home to pursue photography and one day working late, discovered her adopted father's dead body which led to her racing against time to get to the murderer.

There was romance as she was liked by Rick her childhood friend and a lawyer with political aspirations, and colleague and competitor of sorts, Aaron, both if them want to help her. But could she trust them?
My first book by Kelly Irvin, had me enjoying the twists in the plot and secrets that slowly kept getting uncovered. There was action, suspense, mystery and tension across the scenes which made it a quick read, the triangle in the romance niggled me quite a bit.
Overall an enjoyable read

This was my first book by Kelly Irvin and will not be my last.Twenty-seven year old Nina Fischer has recently moved back in with her parents in order to pursue her photography and poetry career. After working late in her darkroom, she goes downstairs and discovers her adopted father and biological uncle, Geoffrey, has been murdered. She’s known Rick since childhood but now he’s an attorney with political aspirations that seem more important to him than Nina’s tragic loss. Aaron is a news videographer who could use her friendship to break the biggest story of his career.


As Nina follows the evidence leads Nina to discover that her Father was not at all the law abiding family loving Christian he had everyone believing he was. But unlocking these secrets could prove deadly.


I give Tell No Lies five out of five stars!

This was a very enjoyable romantic suspense novel. There was a lot of urgency and danger. It was hard to put down. Nina was a special character. She had a hard upbringing that still wreaks havoc in her life. Now she finds out that what she thought was true may not be. Yet she doesn’t give in or quit. She keeps pursuing truth even if she doesn’t always go about it in the right way. I felt for her. She has learned valuable lessons about family and puts them into practice.
Her relationships with Aaron and Rick were both complicated and interesting. She was lucky to have two such special friends. Again both relationships seemed familiar and real.
This was my first book by Kelly Irvin. I liked it a lot and would definitely read another suspense book from her. Thank you to Thomas Nelson for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Kelly Irvin delivers a new kind of story to her readers, one that will have you holding your breath and hoping everyone makes it out alive.

Kelly Irvin is an well established author of which I have not read before given her usual works based in the Amish world. While these books are probably very good, I’m not a fan of that type of book and usually steer clear of them. This latest book, however, is exactly the type of book I enjoy and I was not disappointed in requesting it for review. Ms. Irvin begins her story with a woman named Nina Fischer who is enjoying some quiet moments with her favorite passion: photography. While some in her family see her current chosen career as wasteful, Nina finds meaning and belonging in her art. But her world is about to turn inside out with the murder of her uncle Geoffrey Fischer, who has become the only father she has ever known. Nina finds his lifeless body in his office and immediately calls 9-1-1. The shock that rockets through her makes her numb to all around her, even the questions of the arriving officers. She cannot believe he is gone, and in such a violent way. As Nina struggles to make sense out of all that is happening around her, her long time friend Aaron McClure arrives with his videocamera and news crew. Aware he will have to do his job and get the story, Nina only vaguely answers his questions before being interrupted by lead detective Matt King. As she and King begin to review the events of the evening, Nina slowly understands that she and her family will be the main suspects in the killing. While this frustrates her, Nina also wants the killer caught, no matter who it is. But she cannot fathom that it was her aunt, sister, brother or brother in law, and determines to prove them guilt free if she can. However, Nina will need help if she is going to sort through all the career and personal information of a long-sitting judge. Aaron has offered his help and he is determined to do whatever is needed to ensure that Nina gets the answers she deserves. But as they begin to look into the life and cases of the judge, several disturbing secrets come to light, giving credence to the quiet rumors that the judge had a dark side. Those closest to Nina, including lifelong friends, will all begin to show their true colors as the investigation goes on. And as the hidden becomes known, incredible danger will rise to face Nina and Aaron, forcing them to decide what is most important in life. This story had all the excellent elements of a good suspense novel, and a few that made it better than others in the same category. I loved the raw reality that Ms. Irvin portrayed with Nina and the Fischer family. They were just like a real life family, with problems, past hurts, love and faith as they strove to make the best life possible with the time they had. And while some in the family would rather run from the past than face it, each of them would have a moment to face hard times and decide if they would stand strong or keep running. I loved the vulnerability that Nina had, that also gave her the chance to reach out to God for the faith she needed when the truly difficult times were upon her. Aaron was a strong friend and reality check for Nina when she needed it, and would even have the opportunity to show her that God had not abandoned her as she had long believed. As their relationship grows throughout the story, the sacrificial way in which Aaron cares for Nina gives her a way to see the love of Christ. That was a truly lovely thing to read. And while Nina thought she was so tough given her hard past, she soon learned that was all a facade to keep her heart safe from hurt that others could inflict. The mystery was very well written, with enough clues given throughout the pages to make you think you had figured out but always enough to keep you guessing. I will certainly recommend this book to others in the hope they will find it a enjoyable as I have. I will also be looking to purchase a hard copy of this book for my shelves to re-read at a later time. Ms. Irvin has definitely made a place for herself on my “to read” list of authors and I look forward to reading her future works.

This is the first book I have read my this author and probably one of the first romantic suspense books I have read too.

Overall the book was quite enjoyable giving just enough info each time to keep you guessing who killed the Judge until the end.

There was a love triangle, so if that annoys you, steer clear of this book. I did find the main character a little flakey in her choosing.

Personally, being new to this author I was surprised how much Christianity was in this book. This should have been made clearer in the NetGalley overview. I was okay with it after I realised that was the type of book this author writes, but others might not have been.

Overall well written, easy to read and enjoyable, a solid 4 stars.

The author wrote a thriller that started with a bang and just kept going! The twists kept coming, so I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Nina Fischer and her sister are adopted by family members following their mother abandoning them when there were still quite young. Nina remembers days spent alone with just her sister as mother was out obtaining alcohol any way she could, often bringing strange men. When found, the girls were filthy, starving and wearing tattered clothing. When their uncle, mothers brother, was notified of his nieces situation, he immediately took them in and eventually adopts them. The sisters settle in with their new family, growing into mature young women who both loved and appreciated their adoptive parents.

Then the unthinkable happens, their father is brutally murdered; he was discovered by the only other person in the house, Nina.

What would you do if your father was murdered and all the evidence seems to point directly at you?
This novel will capture your attention until the very end and you will be completely surprised by whodunit!
