it really is a heart-wrenching thriller that's felled with twist and turns and secrets that need to come out, it shows how far a friend ship will go and how you think you know someone and it turns out you really don't , how you think you can can trust someone and you find out you can't , it pulls you into it and makes you feel for what Nora's family is going though as well as Maddie . With that said i would say that you need to read it for your self to see what I'm talking about'

Forget Me Not is a good suspenseful mystery with compelling writing. Not necessarily action-packed or fast-paced, what Forget Me Not has a first person perspective of someone left behind with more questions than answers, a guessing game as to whodunit and an engrossing plot.

For a first novel, Taylor breaks into the literary world with a strong debut.

This one dragged! I didn't enjoy reading this and had to force myself to pick it up at times. It's the story of Maddie, whose best friend Nora went missing when they were 17, and 10 years later she's not over it. Another girl is killed and Maddie decides to find out who is responsible.
I spent most of the book rolling my eyes and disliking the main character, who acts like the disappearance of her best friend at 17 is far more important and life changing to her than to anyone else. She gets angry with the missing girls brother because he's being short tempered with her ON THE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF HIS SISTER'S DISAPPEARANCE. A short while later she's talking - well, interior monologing, which she does a lot - about relationship issues when the boys sister was killed the previous day. "Your sister might have been murdered, but what about us!!! " (not an actual quote, but its how i felt). She is deep and fragile and special and nobody else has had it so bad. Ugh. I know people like this in real life who beleive their life trauma and inability to cope with it makes them unique and tragic when, in fact, it makes them identical to most people around them. She speaks about how she's often depressed in regular flashbacks, but it didnt feel real to me, more like someone wallowing in her special unhappiness. Anyway!
Main character aside, there weren't that many characters and it was easy enough to keep track, although I didn't find them that personable. They mostly struck me as the Tortured love interest, perky journalist friend, stoic young cop, etc, though I quite liked the mostly underused male FBI agent. Didn't really understand why he kept going for a drink with the main character, though. The plot was fine, not the most exciting for most of it as it follows Maddie whole she goes around interfering in police business and asking about irrelevant things, but the ending was alright, even though it wasn't the surprise Maddie seemed to find. By age 27 I had long moved on /grown out of my best friend at 17 and reading this at 42 I just found it a bit silly, I suppose. Still perhaps someone younger and less jaded than myself would feel differently!

This probably gets a generous 3 stars because it wasn’t my kind of book. Maggie can’t get over the death of her friend Nora. That’s really it - she monopolises the grief, and is desperate to find out what happened! Then Nora’s sister Noelle is taken and killed in the same place! Boring unengaging charecters and I don’t really know why it needed to be so wordy! There are some exceptional books out at the moment - this sadly fades into the “ok”.

This is a slow burn whodunnit focusing mainly on Nora's best friend Maddie, who's life has been adversely affected by her friends disappearance. Maddie is obsessed with uncovering the truth about what happened to Nora and Noelle. She begins sleuthing, uncovering secrets and lies that have lain dormant for 10 years.

Overall, I enjoyed this emotionally fraught mystery/thriller but I simply didn't love it. There were parts that seemed too long and moments where the book dragged for me. Still, I definitely saw promise from this debut novel and I look forward to seeing what Taylor comes up with next.

A very good debut novel, this book tells the story of Maddie who has never given up hope of finding her best friend Nora who went missing several years ago.
When Nora’s sister goes missing Maddie believes there is a link between the two girls and begins to investigate. The story alternates between the past and present and we find out what was going on in Nora’s life before she disappeared.
A promise of a reconciled romance with Nora’s brother who becomes a suspect in the crime never really takes off and could have been developed further, but despite that I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more from this author

A really enjoyable tense thriller that keeps you guessing right until the end. This makes you consider the people left behind and how their lives are affected.

OMG that's all that I can say about this book, and I am ashamed that it took me so long to finally read it. It was so good. I loved how it went back and forth with past and present, and the author had a way to distinguish the difference. I loved Mads from the beginning and wanted to see what was happening. I felt that her and Nate had unfinished business for sure. I liked how I wanted to crawl in the book and help her when she was being told that she needing to stop looking for answers it wasn't good for her well being. I had an idea about who did it, from about the middle on but I needed to know why. I am so glad that all the pieces tied together. LOVED THIS BOOK! Thanks NetGalley for the chance to read it!

Omg what a great debut novel for A.M Taylor. This book had me mesmerised wondering if Norah and her little sister were really killed by their brother who is the police's number one suspect. Norah's best friend Maddie is determined to find out. Well written with great depth into the characters and why they are the way they are. A page turner with a plot twist or two. This story revolves around Maddie, whose best friend Nora disappears when they are teenagers. Maddie moves away from her home town unable to cope with the loss of her closest friend. Now, ten years later, Maddie returns and reconnects with her ex (Nora's brother). Nora's younger sister Elle is now around the same age as Nora was when she disappeared. Elle then disappears from the exact same spot as Nora's abandoned car was found ten years earlier. Can Maddie cope with a second disappearance? Will Elle be found and the mystery of her older sister's disappearance finally be solved?
I enjoyed this book although I did find it slow-going with a lot of extra detail and wordy filler. I also found it mostly forgettable.

I loved this book and it kept me gripped until the last page. I was totally wrong about what had happened and who did it so that’s a great sign of a good story l. I loved the characters in this and really wanted it to be resolved in a way that was worthy of the story.

When Maddie was 17 years old, her best friend Nora disappeared, never to be seen again. Now ten years later, Maddie is back to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Nora's disappearance but the next day, Noelle - Nora's 17-year-old sister- is found dead in the last spot Nora was seen. Maddie is determined to get to the bottom of both mysteries.

I had some high hopes for this book, the premise of it just sounded really appealing to me and i couldn't wait to see how it was all laid out. However, it ended up being a disappointment and I think some of it may have had to do with this being a first book, and while the idea was good, future books will probably be better, but there was a lot in this book that just needed to be tightened up in my opinion.

I found Maddie to be a very unlikeable character for starters, and I found it really irritating how she'd let Nora's disappearance wreck her life. She wasn't Nora's only friend, and she wasn't family yet she seemed to monopolise the grief over the loss of Nora. I also thought it really inappropriate the way she started investigating Noelle's death, and her social media without talking to the police at all and she didn't seem to care about it possibly impeding the investigation. It was just really dumb.

There were some small things to do with the writing in this book that I also felt were a product of it being a debut - first of was that Maddie also lived in a place called Madison, and referred to it often and I felt like this was just a bit sloppy on both the writer's and editors' parts. Noah, Nate, Noelle and Nora also all obviously had 'N' names, and I found it really cheesy. There was a moment in this book where it seemed like this may have had something to do with the murder/disappearance but it literally ended up meaning nothing.

I guessed who the killer was in the first chapter too so honestly, i was left totally unsurprised by the reveal in the end. It was so obvious for a lot of the book.

One thing that irked me A LOT in this book was the articles that Maddie kept reading, all of which were biased and sensational and not responsible reporting at all. Honestly, this book was the unfortunate victim of being the one that just ended up with me finally losing my patience with irresponsible reporting in fiction, and while sometimes this type of media in books can progress a story, for this it was just a case of bad media, reporting on the edge of defamation and just one more dangerous example of 'distrustful media.' As a journalist, I'm sick and tired of seeing it in fiction.

I did like parts of this story, mainly the overall plot/idea. I think it had good bones, but the meat just didn't fill it out well enough for me. I will read more from AM Taylor, I just hope what let her down in this book is improved upon.

This book is about missing girls and is a mystery story, which keeps you guessing. I found the book to be very emotional at times and enjoyed this element. However, I did find that the story dragged in parts and there were so many characters. At times it got confusing but all in all I enjoyed it.

There was a lot of information and characters to follow. It just ended up being far more tedious than thrilling and suspenseful.

I enjoyed reading this book, which was a mystery/thriller revolving around a woman named Maddie whose best friend, Nora, disappears when they were teenagers. Maddie's life and personality has been profoundly affected by this disappearance, and she has consistently had difficulty managing new and stressful situations. At the beginning of the novel she returns to her hometown carrying the burden of her own inability to cope with life, and the knowledge that others judge her for allowing this event to have such a long-lasting impact on her life.

Upon returning home, she reconnects with her ex-boyfriend, Nora's brother, and his youngest sister, who was quite young when Nora vanished, but is now about the same age as Maddie and Nora were at the time. A few days after Maddie arrives, Elle (the younger sister) is found murdered at the same location where Nora's abandoned car was found so many years before.

The town is now absorbed with speculations and accusations that target many of the same people that were suspected of being involved with Nora's disappearance. Maddie finds herself drawn back into this world and works to determine who was responsible for killing Elle, and what actually happened to Nora.

Although I enjoyed reading this book as I was doing so, I found that the solution to the mystery and the events of the plot quickly left my head. I finished the book 5 days ago, and am already having trouble remembering details of the story as I write this review. As a voracious and quick reader, this is not an unusual situation for me--but it does make me less likely to seek out other books by this author to add to my TBR list.

However, for someone in the mood to read a thriller/mystery with a bit of romance, I think they would probably do well to pick this book up.

I was very eager and excited to start reading this book, after I had read the blurb.

The story flows beautifully and is full of intense moments that make you so eager to continue on. The characters are well written and engaging.

This was definitely not the book for me. I loathe when authors use many, many, MANY words to describe things or just as filler. This book could use a good edit to cut down on the excessive amount of needless words and tighten up the plot.

I was granted access by netgalley.com to an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book was hooked my in the first few pages, and I had a tough time putting it down! An eerie, murder mystery that I'll recommend to all lovers of psychological thrillers!

The write up for this book is misleading, because if there's one thing this book is not, it's "thrilling". Because I expected something more page-turning, the slow burn killed the momentum for me. It also had a lot in common with Darcy Bell's "A Simple Favor", which I loathed. It also felt like it could have been a tighter read, as far as story and characters are concerned. Was this the worst book I've ever read? No. But I won't be recommending this one, either.

This just didn’t work for me. It started out slow, it felt like the same thing was being said over and over and nothing really interesting or new was happening. It picked up a bit but the felling of just being drowned out by a lot of extra words and information that had already been gone over went on through out the book. The end was predictable and just nothing that gave me a moment of oh that’s a good twist.
