Lydia told Kate she had her ex fiance on the phone. On other man had swept Kate off her feet and offered her the world . Nor declared on bended knee, in front of all their love and declare that their love would last forever. Also no other man, a month before his and Kate’s wedding , had been discovered in his London Art Gallery with his assistant Claudia, who looked as though she was in the middle of a game of strip poker. They had split up three years ago. Kate went off to Lydia then Saul said he would rather not speak to Kate either but he needed to see her about a wedding. Now Kate knew she should have stayed in bed. Saul had only allowed one woman to get close to him -Kate- and that had been a huge mistake and not one he’d make again. Affairs of the heart weren’t for Saul. Kate thought what did Saul think he was doing invading her space. She had worked heart to build this wall around herself. Kate and Lydia were partners in a very successful translation business, which they had started just over two years ago. Kate didn’t want Saul poking his nose into that. She didn’t want him rummaging around in any part of her life, let alone her office, making suggestions for improvements. Lydia was Kate’s closest friend. Saul told Lydia he came as his sister Marie was getting married and wanted Kate to attend. Kate had accepted the invitation but now she regretted it. Then Saul helped her through the crowd when she couldn’t breathe , Saul told her after the inhaler was almost empty and sh knew why it hadn’t seemed to be working it wasn’t Saul after all. Later on Saul Kate dance and he wondered who she was dancing with. Kate could sense Saul was watching her. She should have went back to London when she had the excuse of her asthma. Instead she ignored that instinct of survival and went with the crowd. Then Saul asked Kate to dance with him just one time and during the dance he kissed her. Saul texted and wanted to see Kate so she let him come up to her apartment. No matter how many times she saw him, her heart would always miss a beat when their eyes first met. Kate agreed to meet with Saul the next day expecting an apology for kissing her. Instead he gave her a business proposition . He said he was going to Majorca in a weeks time time. To visit with Alicia Gonzales - 0ne of Spain’s most promising artists. He needed an interpreter and he would only take her or he would take his business elsewhere. Kate knew they needed the prestige that Saul’s name would bring her business. Also his money as Lydia had announced that the latest translation memory software was a lot more expensive than they expected. So Kate agreed to go with some stipulations of her own. Kate used to work for Saul. when she had been first hired on Saul was still managing director of Preston Aviation. He asked his secretary to find who was a good technical German translator that would also be able to travel to Germany with him.
I loved this book. It was a very romantic read that took me one setting to read. Boy I give Saul all the props in the world not once but twice he was innocent of cheating but Kate would not listen to him or give him a chance to prove his innocence. I don’t understand why Kate immediately thought he was guilty unless I missed something other than she tended to keep people at arms length. I felt the author portrayed a person with asthma realistically. I liked that Saul stayed close to her mother even after she left him and he confided into her Kate’s mother the truth even though he had her promise to never tell Kate and she broke that promise. I could not find anything to criticize in this book happily. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

A second chance romance - you do wonder why it has taken so long for Saul to try and explain properly though and also why Kate would never listen to him at the time.

This was a surprisingly pleasant read. When I requested this book I was looking for something light, sweet and well written and that's exactly what I got.

A great second-chance romance. Is it possible that some mis-communication is responsible for a broken engagement? Kate & Saul are both seemingly too stubborn to have worked out why they are no longer together. Kate's mother thinks that Saul is perfect and can't quite seem to forgive her daughter for the break up. Maybe a little forced time together can re-kindle this romance.

This second-chance romance was just an okay read. It took me awhile to really get a feeling for each of the main characters. I couldn’t actually ever get a good feeling for Saul, because the descriptions of him came out in bits and pieces. Kate started as a likable character, but as the story progressed, I found her indecision and mood switches to be more off-putting. There was nothing really wrong with this book at all, it just didn’t seem to go anywhere. All in all, not awful, but not great either. I’m rounding to 3 stars, because I liked the descriptions of Majorca. Thank you to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial, and the author for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I started of enjoying this and thinking it had real potential as a second chance love story, especially seeing the fact that Kate wanted to protect her mim from the truth. Then I am not sure what happened, the plot seemed to disappear and it became a chore to finish it, almost like another writer had picked up from where the first one left it.

Nothing offence about the book which is why it is a two star but there is much better things out there to spend time reading.

2,5 stars

Chick-Lit about a couple that has been together already 3 years ago, separatet because of infidelity - and are now meeting again on different occasions. A wedding, a trip to the countryside, a business trip to Majorca. They both are still totally in love with the other, but at first can't admit that to themselves, and then there are misunderstandings and their own pride in their way...

It was a fair love-story, and the writing style was ok but nothing special (not refreshing or funny or innovative).

This was a surprisingly pleasant read. When I requested this book I was looking for something light, sweet and well written and that's exactly what I got.
I liked the main characters, Kate and Saul even if I didn't always understand their actions or reasoning behind them. The story was interesting and kept my attention (the fact that I read the book in one sitting tells a lot). It's a sweet story and the pacing is fantastic. It's a second chance love kind of story and I'm not always fan of those but I think this one was done well. The reason I didn't give the book 5 stars is the fact that it was never explained why Kate wouldn't allow Saul to explain (both times) and why Saul didn't try harder (it just didn't make sense). And I was also disappointed in the end when they're about to have "the big talk", the book just skips over it. They about to talk it out and the next scene is after they're done. I missed the talk. I wanted to know how exactly they explained their actions to eacother and their reactions and feelings... But other than that I think the book was good and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a sweet, easy story to read and relax.

True Colours by Elly Redding a five-star read that will change colours before your eyes. This was such a sweet read, all about second chances and this is a heart-warming tale of love. I really felt that this could have been so much longer, as I read it so quickly I was surprised when I finished it. The characters were relatable and sweet, the story a little predictable but good and overall a great story, I will definitely be looking for this author again.

Genre: General Fiction (adult), Romance

I liked the sound of this, I love a second chance romance so dived in eagerly but it wasn't a great fit for me. Amazon describes it as 224 pages but its just under 2600K kindle locations and felt far shorter than 224 pages. Those usually come out about 4K+. I think that brevity is one reason it didn't work for me, it seemed as if they were enemies one moment lovers the next with no real build up. It felt quite disjointed in that one moment I was reading about the present and then we were back in the past and it wasn't always obvious which was which. I'm a fan of past and present sides to a story, but they need clear definition.
I didn't understand why Kate wouldn't listen to Saul either time, why she just looked at ran. That's always (almost) going to be most folks' reaction but once emotions cool we usually want to know the how and the why. It seemed weird that Kate didn't. Then there's the long gap, and why is Saul still in love. Why not try harder earlier to get her to listen. Of course this story wouldn't exist then but for me I needed some kind of explanation, some reasons for these gaps.
As ever though this is just how I feel and of course its a perfect read for others, and may be exactly what you want. Reading taste is very subjective.

Stars:Two, one of those that looked a great fit for me but proved not to be :-(

I really liked this book until the halfway point when suddenly things seemed to shift. Kate becomes this wimpy, spineless creature constantly saying "sorry" while Saul hardens into unlikeable. The three year time frame since the break up until the current action seems odd for a ruthless business man like Saul who is used to going after what he wants. He made no effort before this to get to the bottom of their misunderstanding? I also didn't like the glimpse of Saul when he initially decided to pursue Kate - calling her into the cockpit of the plane they were traveling on to inform her - in front of the captain - that he wanted to get to know her romantically. A boss publicly putting an employee on the spot like that rings all kind of warning bells these days.

True Colours is a very sweet and well-written story of second chances and missed love. It's an engaging and warm story between two exes who, under some misunderstandings broke up and meet again 3 years later. It's the details about their current plight and their past all meshed together that makes this story so fun and enjoyable to read.

My heart broke a few times for the main heroine, Kate as she fights her past demons and struggles to have a new life. While her current life is somewhat happy and peaceful, fate once again brought her ex-fiance, Saul back into her life. What I really enjoyed reading about Kate was that she seemed very down to earth and vulnerable. It's as I imagined what any normal girl would do when facing an ex-fiance - run and do anything to prevent falling for him again. However, Saul isn't such a bad guy although he is kind of stoic and straight-laced in my opinion.

Saul is a tough businessman and quite successful. Ladies chase after him and through many misconceptions and misunderstandings, I truly wanted to shake Kate for judging Saul too harshly. Of course Saul had his share of miscommunications - which everything would have worked out in the past had he tried harder to get Kate to understand.

The reason that Kate and Saul broke off their engagement was due to a huge misunderstanding. At first I was on Kate's side until Kate's mom intervened and then we find out what truly happened back then. Saul however, still loves Kate and wants to win her back. Why he took 3 years to do so however was kind of frustrating. I suppose it was that specific timeline that the author chose to bring these two lovers back together again.

Kate ofcourse had never stopped loving Saul. Although he was kind of tough on her, the author brilliantly wrote his insecurities as well. While Saul was written to be unbending and straight forward, it was easy to see that he truly cared for Kate and wanted to win her back.

True Colours is a sweet story and the pacing is fantastic. It's easily a book you can read in one sitting and a great story about second chance love between two people who should have never broken up in the first place.
