Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

I really did not get into this book and ended up DNFing it around 40%. I found the MC boring and I also feel like third person narration usually isn't the best for romance novels?

I saw other reviews that the MC gets better near the end of the book but for me, if there isn't something keeping me there and connecting me with her from the beginning I see no point in continuing.

I liked this book, not love though. I just felt like something was missing, not sure what though. It did have a yummy leading man with some hot sex and a good ending. This was my first book by the author and although it didn't blow me away as much as I would have liked I would be willing to try more books by her. I loved the name of the book though and it lived up to its name.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I'm not a fan of third person writing but wanted to give this author a try. The story had great potential but the third person point of view kept throwing me off. It was hard for me to connect with the characters and really enjoy the book.

The publisher notified me that this book is being revised so I will be holding my review until the revision is released. The one star review is due to the requirement of having to star it but having not read it due to it being pulled by the publisher.

A DNF for me, since I disliked the book. But got an email saying there will soon be a new and improved version of this title is available for your reading pleasure.

I read the blurb and thought "ok, sounds good" Yeah, not so fast there girlie.... If I never hear the word balls again in my life I'll be a happy camper. This story didn't work in so many ways. It had the bones of a good plot, the characters killed it. Neither Phebe, (which my brain translated as Plebe) nor Brody were likable and they were too one dimensional for this readers taste. Phebe is a selfish, self centered snob who cannot picture herself with this hot bartender Brody. Brody happens to own the bar and the building. Nonetheless, Phebe was her own worst enemy and Brody would have done well to dump her long before he finally had enough. She was just unlikable, his constant reference to his balls and I was done. I can't believe I even finished the book. The struggle was real.

I was super excited about this book based on the synopsis. But I just couldn't connect with the story or the characters. I was kind of bored and lost interest very quickly. I stopped reading at 65% and just couldn't bring myself to pick it back up.

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Sadly, this book just wasn't for me. I had difficult connecting with the female main character and there was a lot of telling, instead of showing going on. I feel like this may have another edit coming up before release as it was asked for us not to quote any lines... I just struggled to finish this one. (Read and reviewed 9/16/18)

A swoon-worthy hero but an unlikable heroine and a plot that had a little too much push-pull made this only an okay read for me and not a very good one.

I normally do no like to give an author a poor review but I'm really sorry I didn't care for this book to much. The story was very slow to develop.The main character Phebe, was a witch with a "b". She was mean. But on a more positive note I did like Brody. He was very genuine,honest and kind. Total opposite of Phebe.

They live in two different world with two different mindsets. What happens when an uptight alpha female with deeply ingrained stereo types meets someone who is laid back, but can challenge her and everything she believes in? Sparks! Can they turn their agreed upon 'casual' fling into something more? These two burn up the sheets and anywhere else they can manage to hook up.

I'm rounding up the stars as I feel it's more 3.5-3.75 range than a solid 4.

I found that while Phebe is strong in her life and career, she was so wishy-washy in love. I'm not a fan of people thinking they are better than others b/c of their job. I find that character in a person very appalling and dare I say ugly. She never really got to KNOW Brody. If she had she would have seen that he was on one path and life happened to take him on another.

Brody I found wonderful.

The timeline was short, which was only a 'problem' to me for the almost insta-love with a huge helping of angst. I just couldn't find how Brody or Phebe could continue with the relationship after such a small time together.

I really liked this book but thought Phebe could have been less of an a-hole. Listen, I'm all for strong, independent, don't need no man chicks but, jeez. Sometimes, she was a little too much. Brody was amazing and he put up with her attitude and sometimes down right meanness. She just came across like a bully at times.

Loved the story, though.

Let's Talk About Sext is the first book I have read by Evie Claire and I was excited to dive into it based on the blurb. The idea behind the story was good, but while that was the case, I just didn't feel like it was executed as well as it could have been. I am not one that likes to leave less than glowing reviews, but unfortunately in this case, I'm just sharing my honest opinion.

As I mentioned above, I thought the concept for the story was a good one, but it was so slow moving and in some spots I felt like it almost stalled out. Then the opposite happened and other parts felt like they were rushed. I just never was able to get into it and get into a rhythm.

I really struggled to connect with Phebe from the very beginning. I liked that she was a strong female character who wanted to succeed in her career, however I didn't like her attitude much of the time. I felt like she was on a high horse most of the time and wasn't open to others ideas and thoughts. Brody was likable enough, but there were just so many other things that were distracting to me, that I didn't connect with him like I would have hoped either.

I really wish I would have liked this book more than I did. I know that not every book is for everyone and I'm sure there will be plenty of people who do like it. As I mentioned this was my first book by this author and I can't say that I'll be rushing to look into any other of her books.

Well, darn. I must admit this author and I got off on the wrong foot when I discovered she'd named the main character Phebe instead of Phoebe. Every single time I saw that spelling, it was like a slap. I looked it up and found it is a real spelling of the name. So I accept it, but I don't like it much. I honor the author's right to choose a name for her people, no matter what. (Even my spellcheck is freaking out about it as I type this, though).

I had a very hard time getting into the story. It's written in third person with long, uninterrupted paragraphs that meander around and go nowhere. I honestly wasn't sure what I was reading about until she finally introduced another character. It got better, and I got used to the author's style eventually. The book does have a very slow start though.

Then I had a problem while reading and wondering what the heck the title had to do with the book. Yes, there was one scene in which there was some sexting, but it was never anything they talked about. It's a cute title, but it's extremely misleading. Oh, and somehow the main male character, Brody, miraculously knew her name was spelled with no O. Hmm...

And a note to the author here... "you" and "ewe" are homonyms. To make the case that they ought to sound different just leaves me scratching my head. Readers, if you get to the end, you'll see what I mean. Maybe she was confusing ewe with eww...?

There were many things to like about the book actually. I enjoyed the interplay between the characters (mostly), and I liked the self-discovery both characters did throughout the story. They both had to face their demons, and that part was insightful. Realistic though? Not even a little! Still, that was enough to raise it above one star.

And that brings me to my major problems with the book. Most of it is either really boring or ridiculous. We are supposed to believe the two characters love to have sex on an antique pool table that is covered with... velvet (???). Pool tables are made of slate and covered with felt and would be about as comfortable for making love as concrete. And I had to wonder who got the thing upstairs in an old, old building that the author never mentions having an elevator.

There were so many scenes that seemed to have Phebe and Brody getting somewhere, only to have Phebe totaly freak out and disappear. It got to be repetitive and completely annoying. Extreme highs an lows throughout the book. We have two people who claim to be mad for each other, but it's often hard to see why or how it's anything but sexual attraction. Brody comes across as a good guy for the most part, but he's not terribly exciting.

Unfortunately, Phebe is about at likable as a slug. She is absolutely awful.

And finally, I grew so SO tired of reading about the man's balls all the time!!! Seriously, couldn't the author express his attraction, his interest, his fears, his... whatever... without bringing his testicles into it?? None of it even made sense.

This was the first book I've read by this author, and I can't say I'll be looking for anything else from her. She thanked her helpers for straightening out some issues in the book, but she needed better helpers, I'm afraid. Brody sounds more like he's from London than Atlanta in a couple of conversations. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm sure there will be readers who enjoy the book; it just wasn't for me. I was THIS close to putting it down several times, but I chose to fulfill my commitment to NetGalley and finish it so I could leave a comprehensive review. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

You will really like Brody's character. He has the makings of being a well grounded man. He is simple, easy going, but also honest, direct, a fighter, responsible, very observant, kind, understanding, humble, sexy and intense. With so much description you can see I liked him LOL. The character I didn't like was Phebe. But that is OK, it is actually needed because she is so closed off to life's joy that him entering her life is like a much needed eye opener. This story has good supporting characters and good lessons to be learned. Both of them at some point end up applying what they have learned from the other to make major changes in their lives. And it is good that their obstacles are not overcome the easy way, even if it took them a bit long to get there. Their story shows you that what your mind is set up to have almost certainly will not be what you will need. And too much focus can cause you to miss new and better opportunities.
